Whitney Houston would have celebrated a milestone today if she were still with us.

The late musical icon - who died of a drug overdose on February 11, 2012 - was born on August 9, 1963. So she would have been 50 years old today.

Whitney Houston would have turned 49 years old today.

Sadly, of course, this is not the case, as the legendary singer passed away from an apparent overdose in February. But it's worth taking a few moments this morning in her honor and remember just how special and impressive of a voice this singer possessed.

With fans having a chance to see Houston on screen one final time in Sparkle on August 17, thoughts continue to go out to Whitney's family, friends and loved ones.
