According to a new report, the family of Whitney Houston has more reasons than ever to be concerned over the future of Bobbi Kristina Brown.

The 18-year old daughter of Whitney and Bobby Brown has been in the spotlight ever since her mother passed away, with loved ones supposedly so concerned over her spiraling state that they were pushing all week for her to enter rehab - and that was prior to the latest alleged incident.

Following Houston's funeral on Saturday, sources tell The Daily Beast that family members were "freaking out" because they could not locate Bobbi Kristina.

The combination of her mother's passing, and the controversy surrounding her father's early exit from the memorial - Bobby Brown showed up with an entourage, got angry over his seating assignment and departed after just 20 minutes - was just too much for the teenager to handle, according to those on the scene.

She was reportedly found at a hotel "getting high."

Whitney Houston's close friend and The Bodyguard co-star Kevin Costner delivered a touching speech at her funeral yesterday in Newark, New Jersey.

He recalled to mourners gathered at the church and fans watching online that Houston, despite her fame, was a humble woman who doubted herself.

"The greatest pop star in the world didn't think she was good enough," Costner, 57, said of Houston, who died of a possible overdose last week at 48.

"There were a thousand things that seemed to her to be wrong."

Kevin said there were many men who could've played his part in their iconic 1992 film, after which he remained close to Houston, but there was only one Whitney.

When she was screen-testing for the role, which was put in production a year later than slated because she was on tour, Whitney Houston asked herself:

"Am I good enough? Am I pretty enough? Will they like me?"

As those attending the funeral laughed, Costner recalled how she almost sabotaged herself re-touching her own makeup, which melted under the studio lighting.

"I wanted to tell her that the game was rigged, that I didn't care how the test went, that she could fall down and start speaking tongues," he said.

"That no matter what she did, I'd find a way to explain it as an extraordinary acting choice. And gee, weren't we lucky to have her?"

Indeed. R.I.P.

After days spent arguing with Whitney Houston's family over whether or not he'd attend his ex-wife funeral, multiple sources confirm that Bobby Brown continued arguing with his former in-laws today.

And actually left the memorial after just 20 minutes as a result.

Bobby Brown at Whitney Houston Funeral

Both E! News and TMZ report that Brown brought an entourage of nine people in to the Newark church. It's unclear exactly what happened from there, but the singer was spotted exiting the house of worship shortly after the service began.

"I am at Whitney's funeral. I spoke with Bobby Brown trying to calm him down and not distract from the services. Today is about Whitney!" Al Sharpton Tweeted, while Access Hollywood's Shaun Robinson says a "seating arrangement" dispute was at play.

Brown also has a concert gig tonight in Connecticut with New Edition, but it's believed this disagreement with Whitney's family is the reason why he left the premises so quickly.

UPDATE: Brown has released the following statement:

“My children and I were invited to the funeral of my ex-wife Whitney Houston. We were seated by security and then subsequently asked to move on three separate occasions. I fail to understand why security treated my family this way and continue to ask us and no one else to move. Security then prevented me from attempting to see my daughter Bobbi-Kristina.

"In light of the events, I gave a kiss to the casket of my ex-wife and departed as I refused to create a scene. My children are completely distraught over the events. This was a day to honor Whitney. I doubt Whitney would have wanted this to occur. I will continue to pay my respects to my ex-wife the best way I know how.”

"She would call you for no reason at all, but just to say 'hi.' She was a beautiful human being - really caring, beautiful, thoughtful."

So said Alicia Keys today, holding back tears, prior to breaking into a rendition of "Send Me An Angel" in honor of the late Whitney Houston. Watch for yourself now:

Stevie Wonder also performed at the memorial, while Houston's former co-star in The Bodyguard was applauded for his beautiful tribute to the part-time actress.

"To you, Bobbi Kristina, and to all those young girls who are dreaming that dream, thinking that maybe they aren't good enough, I think Whitney would tell you, guard your bodies," said Kevin Costner. "And guard the precious miracle of your own life. Then sing your hearts out.

"Off you go Whitney, off you go. Escorted by an army of angels to your heavenly Father. When you sing before him, don't you worry. You'll be good enough."

During an emotional Whitney Houston funeral today, which included moving speeches from friends and loved ones, Stevie Wonder took to the piano at one point and shared memories of the late artist.

He praised God for simply allowing him to live at the same time at Houston, talked about recording a duet with her in the studio and then made onlookers laugh by owning up for a mini crush on the legend.

Wonder then went ahead and did what he does best: sing beautifully. Watch and listen to him pay tribute to his friend now:

Bobbi Kristina Brown will attend her mother's funeral today in Newark, New Jersey. But sources say her future beyond this memorial is unclear.

Insiders tell TMZ that many members of Whitney Houston's family are pushing for the 18-year old - who was hospitalized twice in the hours following the artist's passing last weekend - to enter a rehab program... but are waiting until after the funeral to express this hope to Bobbi.

WH Funeral Scene

A scene outside of Whitney Houston's funeral.

Brown has reportedly battled her own substance abuse problems in the past, as she was supposedly caught snorting cocaine last year.

The family wants to learn from the tragedy of her mother, allegedly, and convince the teenager to seek help before it's too late. But they also want her to properly mourn the parent to whom she was so close first.

It's a complicated situation and we can all just hope Bobbi Kristina comes out of it okay.

Hundreds of people lined up on Martin Luther King Boulevard this evening, gathering nearby the Whigham Funeral Home in Newark, New Jersey while those closest to Whitney Houston - including her daughter and mother, who exited a limo holding hands - held a wake for the late artist.

This private memorial precedes tomorrow's funeral Houston, which is scheduled for noon EST.

It will be held at New Hope Baptist Church and has been the subject of controversy all week, with Bobby Brown not cleared by his former in-laws to attend until the last moment; and with Governor Chris Christine ordering flags to be flown at half-staff.

  • Forest Whitaker
  • Chaka Khan
  • Ray J
  • Aretha Franklin
  • Kim Burrell
  • Clive Davis
  • Stevie Wonder
  • Rickey Minor
  • Alicia Keys

Following the funeral, Houston will be interred on Sunday, laid to rest alongside her father at the Fairview Cemetery in Westfield, NJ.

In the wake of Whitney Houston's death, the public has heard numerous responses from those that knew the legend well (Ray J) to know those speculating wildly in order to increase ratings (Nancy Grace).

But few were closer to Houston than Aretha Franklin, the artist's godmother. She spoke to The Today Show this morning about actually hearing the tragic news.

"I had just finished watching George Clooney in The Descendants and I flipped back to the regular TV and maybe two minutes after I did that, it came across the screen. I just jumped off the side of the bed [and said] 'What?' This could not be. What is this? I just said, 'Oh my, God.'"

Aretha Franklin on Today

Franklin said she had seen previews for Sparkle, a film Houston had recently completed shooting, and was confident the movie would lead to a comeback.

"She looked fresh, she looked healthy and she looked gorgeous," the iconic singer said. "I thought, 'Yes, she has conquered her challenges and she's on the way.'"
