Von Lee Smith earned a great deal of attention for his video performance of the Jennifer Hudson/Dreamgirls song “And I Am Telling You.” It became a major YouTube hit.
As a resulf of the viral performance, Smith was invited to perform on The View and BET’s 106 and Park. He's a contestant on season eight of American Idol.
