You wouldn't imagine Bachelor Pad would make you tear up at the end (from genuine emotion, not laughter) but there's a first time for everything.

The season's second episode featured the usual fare - drama, boring dates, people taking things way too seriously - but also a truly romantic moment.

By the end, Jake Pavelka vs. Vienna Girardi and Kasey Kahl felt more like a sideshow. You can thank Ames Brown and Jackie Gordon for that.

Jake bears the brunt of the ladies' chicken embryos, but takes it in stride. When Erica gets hit with nearly EVERY egg, though? Harsh. Minus 9.

Why not just throw the eggs at the middle of the pack if the answer doesn't actually matter? Big Brother always has a trivia component. Minus 2.

Minus another 4 for the guys having to throw underhand. Come on, at least let Jake wind up for a fastball at Vienna the Cheater. Three times!

Viewers have known about it for a month, but Vienna Girardi says she was blindsided when Jake Pavelka showed up on the Bachelor Pad premiere.

"The producers will never tell you who's on the show, but they did say that no 'Bachelor' or 'Bachelorette' [star] would be invited," she said.

In other words, because Jake actually starred as The Bachelor, she could count on him walking through those mansion doors. So she thought.

That moment Jake arrived is still on her mind, Vienna Girardi says:

"I was absolutely terrified. The funny thing is [Jake] called me three days before filming started. I hadn't seen him in close to a year. I didn't answer the call, but I had a strange feeling it was to tell me he was on the show."

Instead of bolting, Vienna leaned heavily on her new boyfriend, Kasey Kahl, whom she's still dating - and reportedly moving in with.

Needless to say, the casting moves paid off for ABC.

Her engagement to Jake Pavelka was a disaster of epic proportions.

The best thing about Bachelor Pad is that ABC, with its dramatic music, editing nuances and constant winks at the audience, doesn't take it too seriously.

Some cast members, however, take themselves very seriously.

The second season kicked off with 16 castoffs and two "winners" from past seasons. To the surprise of no one, those winners dominated the premiere.

Let's break down the summer's first enthralling episode of Jake Pavelka vs. Vienna Girardi, Part III, a.k.a. Bachelor Pad 2, in THG's official +/- recap:

The cast reminds us early and often that they're there for the $250,000. Minus 5, because that's not even that that much. It's the attention that's priceless.

Vienna Girardi's nose job steps out of the limo. Chris: "Are you hoping [Jake's] not here?" Vienna: "Praying." Chris: "Well, I'm glad you're back." Plus 9.

Why is "Rated R" now called "The Wrestler"? Either way, Plus 4 for being the only guy to embrace his past sleaziness and present motives honestly.

Michelle Money revealed that her dad was diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer, making her seem a lot more human and (slightly) less insane. Plus 6.

Vienna Girardi goes up against ex Jake Pavelka on the season premiere of Bachelor Pad next week. But this won't be the same old Vienna Girardi, folks.

Oh, she'll still be an attention-starved whack job. But she'll look a bit different, as Girardi says in the latest issue of Us Weekly, which features her first post-nose job photo.

"I always felt like I had this little face with, like, a Mr. Potato Head nose!" Vienna says. "In school, they called me Pinocchio. After The Bachelor, bloggers called me 'horse face.' Evil names. I even went blonde because my dark hair made my nose look bigger!"

Vienna says the procedure was painful, but worthwhile. Do you like the new look? Which Vienna Girardi do you prefer?

Based on the trailer that aired on last night's Men Tell All special, Season 2 of Bachelor Pad is shaping up to be one of the best/worst shows in reality TV history.

Seriously, it's guaranteed to elicit one or both of these responses:

2. This is so bad, it's must-see TV!

When ABC's Bachelor Pad returns August 8, Jake Pavelka and Vienna Girardi will meet again in the mansion as they battle for ... everything.

With $250,000 on the line - and Girardi's current beau, Bachelorette reject Kasey Kahl, in the mix - the stakes are high and the insults bitter.

"I hope she falls 3,000 feet to her death," Jake says in the promo below.

It's no surprise that the exes' icy interactions highlight the summer spin-off series, which airs a week after The Bachelorette season finale.

"She's trying to hurt me so she can get the money," a fired up Jake says in reference to the show's grand prize. "It will not happen!"

Vienna Girardi is equally as vengeful. "I hate him!" she snipes.

Vienna Girardi and Kasey Kahl from The Bachelor and Bachelorette are now an item, forming a veritable douchepocalypse of reality TV star annoyance.

The ex-fiancee of Jake Pavelka had reservations about getting close to anyone after being engaged to that stiff for a few weeks. But she's made it work.

"Even opening up to Kasey, like, we were dating for a few months, but I didn't want to go public because I wanted to make sure it was real," she said.

We're finding it hard to guard and protect the contents of our stomachs when we see these two Bachelor franchise castoffs getting lovey dovey with each other.

Vienna says she is "absolutely scared of the possibility of getting engaged again," but luckily, Kasey Kahl is putting her at ease all day every day.

Kasey, who fought for Ali's heart on The Bachelorette, is genuinely a nice, caring, loving person, even when cameras are off," Vienna Girardi says.

"That's what makes all the difference."

Vienna Girardi was recently involved in some beef with Gia Allemand over Bachelor castoff Wes Hayden, who dated the latter before being linked to the former.

Now Vienna, who won last season of The Bachelor only to split up with Jake Pavelka about 45 minutes later, is supposedly dating another Bachelorette reject.

That reject is Kasey Kahl. The "guard and protect your heart" dude.

It's a tough call to determine who's more annoying here!

According to Star (we know, we know), they were all over each other at Sharkeez Bar in Manhattan Beach, Calif., on Sunday. Vienna? Never one to take it slow.

"They were there for the Super Bowl but their eyes were hardly on the TV. They kept stealing kisses and were holding hands," says the onlooker at the bar.

"It seemed like it was much more than a one-night fling."

It seemed like more than that? Okay, we're convinced. In similar news that's actually been confirmed, Chris Lambton and Peyton Wright are officially a couple!

Gia Allemand and Vienna Girardi both vied for Jake Pavelka on The Bachelor, but it's another gentleman from the franchise who has them both in a Twitter tizzy.

Wes Hayden, Jake's competition for Jillian Harris on The Bachelorette, and who later wooed Gia on Bachelor Pad, was rumored to be dating Vienna last week.

While Hayden denied the rumor, it didn't sit well with Gia.

Gia (left) finished third on the season won by Vienna Girardi.

"I guess I can hope to be The Bachelorette now that Wes is dating Vienna!" Gia Tweeted Tuesday, half-seriously lobbying for the lead role this summer.

"It's sad that people make up lies (Gia) that I'm dating someone to get sympathy and attempt to become The Bachelorette," Vienna Girardi replied.

Gia's reply: "[You are] a bad friend [and] everyone saw you guys at the reunion and in Texas. And [you] approached me. Hope they got it on camera."

"The world already knows [your] true colors."
