Vanilla Ice (real name Robert Van Winkle) is a man who has been to the top of the music world, only to become a national joke 15 minutes later.

His message to Justin Bieber: You're next!

Ice is warning the Bieb to enjoy his success while he can because his fame will be fleeting, and sustaining this kind of success is impossible.

Justin Biebs

From one doomed pop-cultural fad to another?

Vanilla, who produced the first hip-hop single to top the Billboard charts, tells the Huffington Post, "I mean, I did 'Ice Ice Baby' when I was 16."

"So, yeah, I can kind of relate a bit. Sold over 100 million records. I had a weekend that lasted about three years, and I didn't know who I was."

"What's my purpose in life? So my prediction about Bieber is that he's going to go through one of those weekends that lasts a few years."

Folks, brace yourselves.

This 911 call is anything but Vanilla... ummm, Ice.

Bad jokes aside, a bizarre call was placed to a police dispatcher April 10 after alleged rapper Vanilla Ice allegedly kicked and hit his wife Laura.

This call - obtained by TMZ - can be listened to here.

Vanilla Ice is a bit past his prime, and is experiencing personal issues as well.

Halfway through, Laura Ice (probably not her name, but that's what we're calling her) starts talking to the 911 operator like he's a couples counselor!

It's hilarious, albeit a little upsetting

You may recall that Vanilla Ice (real name Robert Van Winkle) ended up being arrested and charged with battery after the aforementioned melee.

Rapper Vanilla Ice was arrested Thursday night on a charge of domestic battery after his wife called deputies to say her husband was hitting and kicking her.

Deputies arrived at the Wellington, Fla., home around 7:15 p.m. to find Ice (real name Robert Van Winkle) on his motorcycle, two blocks from their home.

Back at the house, Laura Van Winkle appeared uninjured and said she did not want to deal with media attention but wants a divorce. She said her husband, 40, had not hit or kicked her during the melee, but had pushed her.

"He started yelling at me for going out to buy a bedroom set. In front of my daughter," she said, according to a report obtained by the Palm Beach Post

Vanilla Ice said he and his wife had been arguing since the previous day.

The flash-in-the-pan rap star of the early '90s said his wife has bipolar disorder (like Britney Spears!) and takes meds but still has irrational and argumentative episodes and had thrown a picture frame from a rear balcony to the ground.

Vanilla Ice Mug Shot

Vanilla Ice (shown here in the latest addition to our celebrity mug shots gallery), says he did not push his wife, and left on his motorcycle so they could cool down.

It's not the first time Vanilla Ice has been arrested in South Florida. In 2004, he was booked into the Broward County Jail on a domestic battery charge.

Driving with an expired license, driving 74 mph in a 45 mph zone and having illegally tinted car windows all culminated in another warrant for his arrest.

Vanilla was also was hit with $220 in fines back in 2004 when his pet wallaroo and goat escaped in Port St. Lucie and were picked up by animal control.

Good stuff. For those too young to remember the Ice Man in his glory days, here's a classic video of Jim Carrey parodying him on In Living Color ...

When we walked into The Hollywood Gossip offices this morning, we didn't exactly think we'd be bringing you Vanilla Ice news.

We didn't see the Kim Kardashian sex tape coming either, of course. That's how it goes in this business: every day is a unique, exciting adventure.

But back to the Ice Man. The rapper, who may hold the record for fastest, hardest fall from stardom (and who Suge Knight once dangled over a balcony for fun), is apparently still alive. And dropping phat rhymes about taxes, dogz!

Yes. has hired Ice, real name Robert Van Winkle (look it up) to host the "Tax Rap Contest" on, "providing fun-loving taxpayers nationwide a shot at their own Grammy-worthy performance and $25,000 in winnings."

To kick off the contest, Vanilla Ice has unveiled an original music video "inspired by his own personal tax-filing experiences" on the glory that is YouTube. He wants you to get your tax on with tha Turbo tax mojo! Peep it:

We can dig it. Hey, as Kevin Federline showed us during the Super Bowl, D-List white rappers and financial services offer a great recipe for success.
