Ever wanna be a celebrity? Here's the price of fame:

High School Musical sweetheart Vanessa Hudgens just wants to fill up her gas tank. It's as mundane an act as there is in life, really.

But it's earth-shattering to a gaggle of entertainment news reporters, all of whom make a pathetic living following around celebrities and catching them in exciting acts such as taking out the garbage and pumping gas.

Hey, we might reports on celebs after they make news. But you'll never catch us interrupting their day-to-day lives.

The stars of High School Musical are looking to expand their resumes beyond cheesy Disney fare. Zac Efron has signed on to film a movie called "Seventeen." Ashley Tisdale is on board for "They Came From Upstairs."

And now we hear that Vanessa Hudgens is set to act in the feature "Will."

It begins to shoot in February in Austin, Texas and is based around a battle of the bands at a high school.

Hudgens will be portraying the role of Sam, a 15-year old outcast who dresses in black jeans and a t-shirt, with hair strategically hiding her face from the world.

This loner is often seen with a book in hand, until she strikes up a romance with the movie's title character.

But, don't worry, Vanessa and company are still signed on to make High School Musical 3. It'll be the first flick in the franchise to be released in theaters.

Don't you feel terrible for Vanessa Hudgens?

Not only must the High School Musical star deal with the fallout from her naked picture scandal (which, reportedly, resulted in a raise for her role in High School Musical 3), but she's forced to date a - brace yourself! - good looking guy!

Hudgens recently lamented that "it can be hard dating the blue-eyed boy, especially since he is so very popular with the ladies."

Bear with us as we break out the violins.

"It's hard when you have a good-looking boyfriend," she added. "You want your man to be your man. You don't want all these girls up on him and stuff like that."

As far as the future with Zac Efron, the 19-year-old Disney actress was incredibly confusing.

"It's fun having a boyfriend. He's a friend and a cute friend who you like. It's nice. But only time will tell," she said. "I'm still young, and I have my girlfriends and I have my family."

We're not sure what any of that means... but it's not encouraging for Zanessa, is it?

We've talked about them at length, but until now, the singer / actress herself has been relatively silent. As the pics hit the web, controversy swirled and many speculated that the High School Musical actress would be axed by Disney.

Fortunately, much like Zac Efron in bed (or so we've heard), reports of Vanessa Hudgens not returning for the next installment of High School Musical came too quickly. Vanessa talks about all this and more in Seventeen magazine...

Seventeen: How are you feeling about the nude pics, the whole scandal?

Vanessa Hudgens: I'm much better now. But truthfully I don't like talking about it. It was something that was meant to be private, and even though it isn't anymore, I'd still like to keep it as private as I can. It was very traumatic, and I am extremely upset it happened. I hope all my fans can learn from my mistake and make smart decisions. But I wouldn't have been able to get through it if it wasn't for my family, friends, and fans, who supported me all along the way.

Vanessa Hudgens: I found out from my manager. We heard some story was going to break in the tabloids, and I was like, What?!? A few days later, the picture came out while I was on vacation in Australia. Thank God, I wasn't home... it would have sucked if I was at home. But when I came back, it got kind of crazy.

Seventeen: How did you explain the situation to your mom?

Vanessa Hudgens: I was just open with her, and she was just so cute. She was like, "Well, everyone can be naked if they want to!" My parents are very supportive. They know I'm a teenager, and yes, kids do stupid things sometimes.
