Rumors about Laura Prepon dating Tom Cruise date back to November of last year, but fizzled out after months went by with no confirmation. Now it seems the two have been hooking up on the down-low all along.

The New York Post reports that Prepon and Cruise have been "secretly dating" ever since they first met nearly six months ago.

The newspaper is quick to point out that reps for both actors have denied the romance and Cruise's publicist claims "They see each other at functions, but they are not dating."

That hasn't stopped rumors from circulating on the set of the Netflix series Orange is the New Black.

Prepon starred as a lesbian drug dealer in the hit show's first season, but abruptly announced her departure following the series premiere.

Sources close to the show have speculated that Prepon quit suddenly as a result of her relationship with Cruise, as her character's loose morals didn't mesh with the couple's Scientologist beliefs.

Tom Cruise admitted in a deposition something we've long assumed was true: Katie Holmes divorced him in part because of his controversial Scientology faith.

The actor was deposed in the $50 million libel suit he is filing against a celebrity news magazine that claimed he abandoned daughter Suri Cruise.

He denies this vehemently (which should be obvious if he's filing a lawsuit over it), despite the fact that no one takes In Touch Weekly at all seriously.

No one would've ever thought that Tom abandoned Suri, but nevertheless, he was grilled by ITW's counsel as part of his quest to make them pay.

The lawyer for the tabloid magazine repeatedly asked if Katie Holmes' divorce from him was because of the Church, with which he is famously aligned.

As previously reported, The Church of Scientology screened dozens of women to date Tom Cruise after he divorced Nicole Kidman, including Yolanda Pecoraro.

The same Yolanda Pecoraro who was linked to him this July, following his split with Katie Holmes. Those Scientology peeps do not waste time apparently.

"Tom had specific demands about the type of woman he was interested in, including long dark hair, olive complexion and preferably an actress," a source said.

Of course, he wanted her to preferably be a Scientologist too.

Radar claims Cruise and Pecoraro were set up and dated in the summer of 2004, after his very public split from another A-lister, girlfriend Penelope Cruz.

The relationship with Yolanda lasted a few months, but Cruise grew bored with her, and really wanted to date an actress that was known to the public.

A new Vanity Fair article claims that Shelly Miscavige, the wife of Scientology leader David Miscavige, headed up the task of finding Tom Cruise a mate.

Candidates were reportedly told they were auditioning for a training film and were asked a series of questions including "What do you think of Tom Cruise?"

Iranian-born actress / Scientology follower Nazanin Boniadi was another "winner" in the girlfriend derby, dating Tom for a while before being ostracized.

Ever since Vanity Fair's cover story alleged that members of the Church of Scientology vetted possible wives for Tom Cruise, Nazanin Boniadi has been in the spotlight.

Little known if at all in the U.S., the Iranian-born, London-raised actress, whose friends call her "Naz," has been referred to as the "Persian Audrey Hepburn."

Obviously it didn't work out for Nazanin Boniadi, who's appeared on General Hospital and How I Met Your Mother, and Cruise, who wed Katie Holmes in 2006.

She isn't quoted in the VF article, but director Paul Haggis (a known critic of the Church of Scientology) says that Boniadi shared her 2004-05 ordeal with him.

Boniadi hit it off with him at first, but refused to indulge Tom Cruise in public displays of affection and was ultimately dispatched by Scientology higher-ups.

From there she was sent to church headquarters in Florida, where she was punished and made to clean toilets with a toothbrush for speaking about Cruise.

Reps for Cruise have denied the contents of the article, as has the Church, but not before it further fed into the firestorm over Scientology's cult-like reputation.

From the sound of it ... Naz might've dodged a bullet on this one.

The process of finding Tom Cruise a potential wife through the Church of Scientology was revealed in Vanity Fair's October cover story by Maureen Orth.

Shelly Miscavige, the wife of Scientology head David Miscavige, led the audition to find a suitable new Mrs. Cruise after his divorce from Nicole Kidman.

Actresses who were also Scientology members were called for the audition process held under the guise of "a new training film," according to the article.

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, who were married from 2006-2012, met at some point after this; it's unclear if she was also screened in this fashion.

It's pretty disturbing in any case if it's even half true.

Iranian-born actress Nazanin Boniadi, a strong candidate, passed the first stage of the audition process and then underwent a month-long preparation.

After a makeover and signing an NDA, she was set up with Cruise in November 2004 ... quickly realizing what her "very important mission" consisted of.

During their relationship, she was audited and spent 2-3 hours purging any "negative thoughts about Tom." Things went more or less well ... for a time.

Cruise started to have a series of complaints about her - read the full Vanity Fair expose for an explanation of what - and the relationship soon fizzled.

Katie Holmes may say her decision to divorce Tom Cruise is over Scientology, but sources close to the actor says it's not and she's motivated by something else.

What, they won't say. Yet.

A source close to Cruise tells TMZ that Holmes' camp is leaking false stories to the media claiming she's trying to save Suri from the grips of Scientology.

But, as the well-connected Tom source put it, "She [Katie] was totally committed."

"She had a great enthusiasm for Scientology and would voluntarily and gladly participate in it, including when Tom was off shooting movies."

"This is not a fight over religion. It's being used as a way to hurt Tom."

It's possible, of course, that Katie was committed to it because it was important to Tom, but soured on it of late because of Suri, as reports claim.

Still, Cruise sources claim Suri is being used as a weapon against him and that his now-estranged wife is making it very hard for him to talk to her.

Tom Cruise is reportedly gearing up for a fight.

Having been blindsided last week by his spouse, he is ready for a custody battle over Suri Cruise and preparing to counter-file for divorce in California.

According to celebrity gossip sources, Cruise wants to ensure that Katie doesn't get sole custody of Suri, which she asked for in her New York filing.

Cruise's camp says the divorce can only take place in New York if the marriage occurred there or the spouse has been living there continuously.

Despite the couple owning an N.Y. apartment deeded in her name, he will argue that both live in L.A. and she doesn't meet N.Y. residency requirements.

This is significant as N.Y. courts are perceived as much more likely to award sole custody in a contentious divorce than their California counterparts.

An insider added of Cruise's game plan: "There is absolutely no way that he is going to let Katie have sole custody. The lines are being drawn."

The somewhat surprising Tom Cruise-Katie Holmes divorce came out of nowhere, allegedly prompted by her fear of Scientology groups corrupting Suri.

The catalyst for the Tom Cruise-Katie Holmes divorce appears to have been fear of their daughter being immersed in Scientology, according to reports.

Specifically, a Scientology organization known as Sea Organization (or Sea Org), where the religion is taught to kids as young as five, was the final straw.

Kids can be sent to live there without their parents to learn the highest levels of the belief system. Tom is said to be a huge supporter; Katie not so much.

Even before she filed for sole custody of Suri, Katie and Tom had been arguing over the little girl's indoctrination into Scientology. She's now six years old.

Sea Org has been often likened to a boot camp; ex-Scientology members have been outspoken against its military-like conditions on several occasions.

Members of Sea Org must sign "a one-billion-year pledge to symbolize their eternal commitment to the religion and it is still signed by all members today."

When Holmes and Cruise first hooked up in 2005, Jessica Feshbach, who had been with Sea Org since 1994, became her Scientology handler/chaperone.

In one of Katie's first interviews after getting together with Tom, Feshbach was described by a writer for W magazine as "cold-eyed" and "a third-wheel."

Katie, 33, reportedly felt the only way to save Suri from being shipped off to Sea Org was to file for divorce from Tom, 49, and seek sole legal custody.

The church denies, meanwhile, that the actress is being stalked by Scientology minions around NYC, a report that circulated over the weekend.

The impending Tom Cruise-Katie Holmes divorce apparently has the actress feeling uneasy and convinced the Church of Scientology now views her as a threat.

As such, Holmes believes the church put a team on her tail.

Katie reportedly believes that in recent weeks, as discord between herself and Tom grew and they began living apart - even while both were in New York City in mid-June - Scientology higher-ups have been following her every move.

It's unclear if this is in fact the case, but Scientology has been linked to such activity for years, and sources say "mysterious" men have photographed Katie when she's out, with vehicles spotted near her apartment around the clock.

A white Cadillac Escalade and black Mercedes SUV have been outside her place for the past week. Again, it's unclear who, if anyone, is tailing Katie Holmes.

The actress filed for sole custody of Suri in New York last week, a move Tom allegedly had no idea was coming. His ties to Scientology are said to be a big reason.

Katie Holmes surprised many of us by filing for divorce from Tom Cruise, but the apparent reason behind her decision would likely be anyone's first guess.

Scientology.

Sources say the Tom Cruise-Katie Holmes divorce is happening for precisely that reason, specifically her concern that Suri will be introduced to it.

Their daughter is now six, the age where Scientology will begin to be a major part of her life, and Katie fears Suri will be dragged in too deep.

Holmes has never fully committed to Scientology, TMZ reports, despite her ties with the church and more than five years of marriage to Tom.

Many observers felt their marriage would never work for this reason; Katie respected Tom's beliefs, but raising their child his way a different story.

As she's grown, the couple had been arguing over Suri with greater frequency, and Katie eventually filed for divorce to protect the little girl.

A key detail in the Tom Cruise-Katie Holmes divorce filing was the location in which it was filed: The 33-year-old actress made if official in New York.
