For the first time since being sentenced to 15 months in prison for various kinds of financial fraud, Teresa Giudice has spoken out about her frightening future.

With Bravo cameras rolling, of course.

For a special taped interview that will air tonight, Giudice was asked by Andy Cohen for her reaction to the punishment, holding the hand of husband Joe Giudice as she searched for the proper words as a response.

Giudices Go to Court

"I was so nervous yesterday that I was shaking,” Teresa told Cohen.

“My nerves were pulling. At one point, I couldn’t move my fingers. They were stuck. I couldn’t open my hands. My nerves were shot. I’ve had sleepless nights. I, of course, I was shocked."

"It was very unexpected. I don’t even know what to say."

On Friday, after Joe Giudice was sentenced to 41 months behind bars, a New Jersey judge said she had to make an "example" out of Teresa, surprising many who believed The Real Housewives of New Jersey law breaker would avoid jail altogether.

Last week, Teresa Giudice was sentenced to 15 months in prison, but she won't have to turn herself in to authorities until January 5.

Naturally, Teresa has a lot to get done between now and then - things like getting her finances in order, making sure her kids are cared for while she's gone, and of course, setting fire to the few remaining bridges in her life that haven't already been burned.

Teresa Giudice Stands Tall

Yes, despite the fact that Bravo is pretty much the only business at which Teresa has any hope of getting a job after her release, the veteran Housewife seems intent on royally pissing off the network that made her famous.

Over the weekend, the ladies of The Real Housewives of New Jersey gathered to tape their annual reunion show, and naturally, Teresa was the main attraction. She was also more than three hours late.

Last night on The Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 6 Episode 12, Teresa Giudice and her ongoing legal problems were only half the story.

With the real housewife in real trouble, getting sentenced to 15 months for fraud, it was hard to focus on much else, but the Bravo show tried.

Fortunately, they had a good side plot, as the rumor that Victoria Gotti told earlier in the season came full circle when Jim Marchese said it out loud:

Teresa Aprea's husband, Rino, had slept with her mom in the recent past.

"You don't talk about mothers!" said Melissa Gorga, as twins Nicole Napolitano and Aprea listened, stunned, to the story about their own. "No! No!"

"Don't you dare talk about my mother," said a crying Aprea. "I'm done."

Sounds like Rino did a lot more than talk to her, too. Just saying.

"That's why I was trying to shut this down all night long," said fellow cast member Dina Manzo on The Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 6 Episode 12.

Her mom is going to jail for over a year.

Her dad is going to jail for over three years.

But Gia Giudice is sticking by the side of Teresa Giudice and Joe Giudice.

A couple hours after her controversial parents were sentenced to prison for committing various kinds of financial fraud, the 13-year old took to Twitter on Friday and wrote the following:

"Family forever. Such an amazing support system it's unreal. The little things matter to me but the big things matter to you."

A judge decreed late last week that she had to set an example, ordering Teresa Giudice to jail for 15 months.

Earlier that same day, she sentenced Joe Giudice to jail for 41 months.

Yesterday, Teresa Giudice was sentenced to 15 months in prison as a result of her fraud conviction back in March.

Her husband, Joe Giudice, was sentenced to 41 months, but won't begin doing his time until after Teresa is released, so that one parent will be free to care for the couple's four daughters at all times.

Speaking of the Giudice kids, they're in for a shock when Teresa turns herself over to the authorities on January 5, as the three youngest girls reportedly haven't been told that their parents are headed for prison.

"Teresa and Joe decided they were only going to tell [13-year-old] Gia that they had both been sentenced to prison," a source close to the family tells Radar Online.

Teresa and Joe Giudice finally learned their fate yesterday in court, and The Real Housewives of New Jersey firebrand is not taking the outcome well.

After pleading guilty to bankruptcy fraud, prison sentences loomed, but the couple held out hope they might be let off with probation or house arrest.

No dice. Teresa Giudice was sentenced to 15 months in prison, while her husband Joe Giudice earned a 41-month sentence in the state penitentiary.

In a statement, Teresa said, "My daughters are my life."

"I'm more sorry than anyone will ever know. I will make this right no matter what ... I'm really scared ... I need to learn to do things for myself."

She concluded, "It's time for me to wake up."

Judge Esther Salas, who laid the smack down on both, apparently wasn't buying her pleas for mercy or that she has a clue what she did was wrong.

Yesterday, the Giudices had you might call a rough day in court.

Though each of them reportedly believed they'd avoid prison time with their last-minute pleas for mercy, Judge Esther Salas decided that the Giudices both need to do some pretty serious time.

Joe Giudice was sentenced to 41 months as a result of the several counts of fraud to which he pled guilty back in March.

Even though by many accounts she was simply along for the ride, Teresa Giudice was sentenced to 15 months behind bars.

If you watch The Real Housewives of New Jersey online, you know that the Giudices claim to value family above all else.

So you might guess that their current struggles have made them closer than ever and Teresa and Joe are standing by each other in this time of strife, right? Oh, how wrong you would be.

Joe Giudice is going to jail for 41 months.

First, however, the law-breaking couple is heading to Bravo, as the network confirms these Real Housewives of New Jersey stars will sit for an exclusive interview with Andy Cohen on Monday night.

The Giudices pleaded guilty in March to a number of financial fraud allegations. They were sentenced yesterday inside a New Jersey courtroo, with Judge Esther Salas telling Teresa at the time:

"I think a period of confinement is absolutely necessary in this case. I don't honestly believe that you understand or respect the law. I need to send a message. In the eyes of the law, it doesn't matter who you are. There are consequences to pay."

This morning, Joe Giudice was sentenced to 41 months in prison, stemming from his conviction on several counts of fraud, to which he pleaded guilty back in March.

His wife - Teresa Giudice - was forced to wait several hours to find out her own fate, and just minutes ago, The Real Housewives of New Jersey star got what was coming to her:

Teresa was sentenced to 15 months behind bars!

Prior to their sentencing, the Giudices were reprimanded by Judge Esther Salas for being dishonest in financial documents requested by the court.

Salas also stated that she was forced to delay the Giudices' sentencing as they were several months late in filing the documents pertaining to the case.

It's unclear as to whether or not the late submission and missing information factored into the Salas' decision to throw the book at the Giudices, but it couldn't have helped.

The Giudices sentencing has been delayed several times since they both pled guilty to fraud back in March.

But today the troubled couple finally had its day in court today, and as expected, both Joe and Teresa pulled out all the stops in hopes of avoiding prison.

Joe Giudice was sentenced to 41 months behind bars, as a last-minute plea to the judge fell on deaf ears.

Joe and his lawyer went with an age-old excuse for his bad behavior, claiming that Giudice suffers from a severe drinking problem.

"Joe does have a serious problem with alcohol," attorney Miles Feinstein told the court. "And being on the show didn't help. It's there. I've noticed it. When he comes into my office he smells like alcohol."
