We don't know a lot about Taylor Vaifanua right now, except for this important piece of information:
She makes it to Hollywood on the eighth season of American Idol. This 16-year old has dreamed about a career in music for years and we'll have more on her as she advances on the show. She hails from Salt Lake City, Utah - and that's the city she auditioned in.
Taylor "Joyful, Joyful" for her try out and received heartfelt approval for all four judges. The singer spent five years early in her life in Samoa. There, she was influenced by Polynesia music and tradition.

You can learn more about Taylor on www.createthegroup.net that she was part of last year. It was a reality show here locally in Salt Lake City.
Her family is also VERY close to the Wolfgramms, who are better known musically as THE JETS!

That's pretty pathetic that Taylor's former producer is trying to promote himself during her Idol journey. Guess he didn't get her out there as much as Idol is now and he wants in on all the glory! Get a life Sam! She doesn't need you riding her coattails and yes all of Utah knows her family is friends with the Wolfgramms!!!

Taylor is actually from Hurricane, Utah, near Zion National Park (she says so on the video). It's actually closer to Las Vegas than it is to Salt Lake City.
