It's official: This December 31st will mark yet another New Year's Rockin' Eve in Times Square. Literally!

The annual celebration - previously hosted by Dick Clark and now by Ryan Seacrest - has announced the musical lineup that will ring in 2013.

And it will be headlined by Taylor Swift. She'll be joined in New York City by Carly Rae Jepsen and Neon Trees, among other artists to be announced at a late date.

Across the country, meanwhile, Fergie will lead the West Coast celebration alongside such acts as Brandy, Flo Rida, Karmin, OneRepublic and Pitbull.

It will be a fun occasion, but also a somber one:

Due to Dick Clark's death in April, the first two hours of this ABC broadcast will be a tribute to that legend's life and impact on the world of television.

Taylor Swift took her record-breaking act to Australia this week.

The wildly popular singer, who may or may not be dating Harry Styles, appeared Monday on that nation's version of The Today Show, promoting her new album via a couple of live performances.

Taylor Swift may write a great deal about her love life, but she makes a surprising admission in the latest issue of Parade:

She doesn't have a clue what that word means. Not really.

"I tend to think things are love and then look back and reevaluate," Swift tells the publication. "I know how many people I’ve said ‘I love you’ to. I could probably count it up, but I don’t feel like it. Part of me feels you can’t say you were truly in love if it didn’t last. If I end up getting married and having kids, that’s when I’ll know it’s real - because it lasted."

Are Taylor Swift and Harry Styles really an item?

It's unclear at the moment, but the latest issue of Us Weekly quotes a source who says Swift and Styles "lit up" when they saw each other backstage at The X Factor last week.

Taylor acted like a "puppy dog" around the One Direction crooner, the tabloid claims, adding that she and Styles were "walking hand-in-hand" on the show's set, eventually the departing together after Swift performed.

"Harry picked her up and carried her to the trailer," says the source.

Swift split from Conor Kennedy in October, but she clearly isn't wasting any time with her new paramour.

Just consider: "They email a lot," alleges the magazine.

Taylor Swift is barely recognizable in new photos from the set of her most recent music video shoot.

Starring alongside Broadway actor Reeve Carney, the superstar rocks pink highlights and a dark look for the upcoming "I Knew You Were Trouble" video.

Despite Taylor's unusual appearance, it's actually Carney's look that is making headlines.

The hat? The dark hair? Might Carney be doing his best impression of a certain douchebag ex of Swift's about whom she's crooning?

Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez are BFFs.

And now they have something unfortunate in common.

Gomez faced numerous death threats when her relationship with Justin Bieber first went public - and now Swift is undergoing the same disturbing treatment.

Taylor was spotted getting cozy with Harry Styles backstage at The X Factor on Thursday. Are they an item? It's possible. Is hand-holding a valid excuse for threatening the life of a stranger?

We don't believe so, but a few One Direction fans have taken to Twitter and posted such unsettling messages as:

• “I’ll murder Taylor Swift. She will not date my Harry."
• "If u dating my harry, I kill u.”

We're guessing/hoping these are empty threats, but come on people. Access to a keyboard does not give you an excuse to sound like a psychopath.

Fans saw a different side of Taylor Swift at the 2012 American Music Awards.

The artist performed "I Knew You Were Trouble" in front of screaming fans and millions on television, tearing off her sparkly dress at one point to reveal a bustier and black tights to go along with a pair of combat boots.

Just 24 hours after Selena Gomez's disastrous dinner date with Justin Bieber, the singer-actress met up with pal Taylor Swift for dinner last night.

Oh to be a fly on the wall at Osteria La Buca in Los Angeles.

"The girls shared an Italian meal and seemed to have the best time," an onlooker says. "There were a lot of giggles and laughter. They looked like great friends."

"You could tell they were also in deep conversation throughout the meal. Taylor was very protective of Selena and escorted her to and from the car."

The probably-single ladies certainly have plenty to discuss ...

Ladies and gentlemen, presenting... Tarry?

According to Mario Lopez, Taylor Swift - who performed Thursday night on The X Factor - is involved romantically with Harry Styles of One Direction.

Just read what the co-host said last night on his 104.3 MY FM radio show:

"During rehearsals, Harry from One Direction came and slapped me on the back, and said, 'Hey, Mario, how ya doing?' And I said, 'What are you doing here?' And he sort of [pointed] toward Taylor."

Swift, of course, recently split with Conor Kennedy. But she isn't typically one to remain single for long.

Lopez says he saw the pop singers "walking off hand in hand," adding: "So Taylor Swift and Harry from One Direction -- you heard it here first."

And we'll all hear more about it later, after these two break up and Swift comes out with a new album.

Yes, those two acts really were sent home on last night's X Factor results show.
