The Internet instantly set about speculating as to who Taylor could've been so upset with (aside from her many ex-boyfriends) that she devoted an entire track of her forthcoming album to talking trash.
Taylor's quotes were picked apart for clues, and her history was examined by fans hoping to piece together the identity of her professional rival. Turns out the answer may have been under our noses and on our Twitter feeds all the while:
Just hours after Taylor's quote went public, Katy Perry tweeted, "Watch out for the Regina George in sheep's clothing," a reference to the villainous manipulator from the 2004 film Mean Girls.
