Forget Bieber Fever for a moment.

There's another outbreak in Hollywood: it's the celebrity trend of attending event in a one-strapped red dress.

Although the details differ slightly, Taylor Swift, Eva Longoria and Mary J. Blige were all spotted in recent weeks donning a variation of this style. Would you wear it? What do you think of it?

It's not as extreme as the makeover Lance Bass recently underwent, but Taylor Swift changes her look a bit in the latest issue of Marie Claire.

The young singer pulls up her hair and looks more serious than ever in a photo from the magazine. For someone known as much for her smile and bubbly personality as her impressive career so far, this is freaking us out a bit...

Serious Swift

Inside the issue, Swift talks about her early success and how setting goals for herself was a helpful way of keeping her focus and priorities straight:

“I love having a goal, feeling like I’m on a mission. I love trying to beat what I’ve done so far. I knew that everything I wanted to happen could happen in Nashville. So it became my number-one goal to get there somehow.”

She's done more than just get there, that's for certain. Unfortunately, the city in question is still recovering from massive flooding in April, a situation Taylor has spoken out and prayed over.

It's a great day to be Taylor Swift or Carrie Underwood.

Then again, when is this ever not the case?

Along with Jason Aldean and Lady Antebellum, these two beauties lead the way with three CMT Music Awards nominations.

That ceremony, which is the only fan-voted awards show in all of country music, will air on June 9. It will be hosted by Kid Rock. No, really. Kid Rock.

With dozens dead and countless houses covered by water, Taylor Swift and other celebrities are sending their thoughts and prayer to Nashville this week.

The city has been ravaged by floods and record-breaking, torrential rain storms.

At Sunday night's MET Costume Institute Gala in New York, Taylor sent out well wishes to those in her hometown: "Right now Nashville is under water. We had the worst storm in 35 years, so please keep us in your thoughts and prayers. A lot of people back home are not doing well."

So Influential

Taylor isn't alone in this sentiment. Tweeted Brad Paisley:

"I think all my road guitar gear, amps, effects are under 3 ft of river... Just saw two girrafes, two elephants, and two rhinos walking down the road toward a HUGE wooden boat. Thinking about followiing them."

Added Julianne Hough: "Hey guys! Please keep the families and everyone else in Nashville in your thoughts and prayers... They really need it right now! Thanks."

Meanwhile, a Nashville music executive says there may be a fundraiser in honor of the legendary Grand Ole Opry House and the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, both of which have been ruined by water damage.

Below, Swift poses at last night's Time's 100 Most Influential People in the World Gala in NYC:

Hollywood descended on New York City last night, as celebrities from every industry attended the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Annual Costume Institute Gala. It celebrated the institution's upcoming exhibit, "American Women: Fashioning a National Identity."

Two of the young stars on display were Emma Watson and Taylor Swift, a pair of THG favorites.

Both are talented, humble and grounded. And both donned flowing, long white gowns at the event. Emma exposed a shoulder, while Taylor painted her lips red. Which look do you prefer? Sound off below!

Taylor Swift is awesome - and THG isn't the only company that thinks so.

The singer has been named the new spokesperson for CoverGirl. She joins the ranks of other stars that have represented the brand, such as Drew Barrymore, Rihanna, Queen Latifah and Ellen DeGeneres.

While Swift's ads for a line of luxury cosmetics won’t debut until January 2011, here's a sneak peek at her in the new role:

Says CoverGirl General Manager Vince Hudson:

"Taylor is beautiful, inspiration with an effortless-chic style, making her the perfect person to represent a new, luxurious collection of products debuting on Cover Girl next year."

We can't argue with any of that. Take a look at the singer on tour below:

It might not get any cooler than Taylor Swift.

Already one of the more grounded, respected, popular singers on the planet, Taylor helped her reputation even more by making the dreams of a few Auburn University students come true. Here's what went down:

In January, Michael Wekall and Ryan Leander started the website A Hug From Taylor Swift. Their goal? To receive a hug from Taylor Swift. D'uh!

The pair posted videos and made online pleas to the star, which were soon met with a challenge from Taylor herself: perform some good deeds, encourage others to do the same, and perhaps the dream of an in-person meeting would come true.

Michael and Ryan did as they were asked - and Swift made good on her promise.

Swift Swarmed

Yesterday, Wekall and Leander urged students to meet them for a special karaoke session. Soon after the group completed a rendition of "You Belong With Me," Swift appeared on stage, donning a "Hug from Mike and Ryan" t-shirt.

Fast forward to the four-minute mark below to get to the especially cool part:

Seriously, how awesome is Taylor Swift?!?

Over the weekend, for the first time in memory, Taylor Swift was NOT the big winner at an awards show.

In fact, our favorite young superstar went zero-for-five at last night's Country Music Awards, taking home nary a trophy.

That's quite the contrast from Miranda Lambert, who won Video of the Year and Album of the Year. We're happy for her and all, but we'd like to see Taylor come out on top of something this week.

With that in mind, it's up to you, readers. Did Swift out-pretty Lambert on the red carpet? Compare their looks below and then vote:

Taylor Swift took to the Staples Center stage on Thursday night and sang a number of her hit singles.

That would have been enough for the thousands of fans in attendance, of course. But the crowd - and Taylor herself - got a surprise when Katy Perry popped out and sung "Hot N' Cold" with the young Grammy Award-winner.

Check out the duet below:

Swift will release a new album this fall. We can't wait for it.

As the anticipation builds, check out the following photos of Taylor performing in Los Angeles:

Taylor Swift enjoyed a ridiculously successful 2009. Her achievement on the music charts and in various award categories earned the artist the number-seven ranking in our Celebrity of the Year rundown.

But Swift has remained quiet for the first quarter of 2010, hanging out with friends and possibly dating Glee star Cory Monteith.

Featured in the latest issue of Vogue, though, Taylor reveals plans to release a new album this fall.

Similar her previous CD, this one will focus on the singer's personal life, which has has changed a lot since she was 16.

"I don't think I could put on a new character for two years of my life if it wasn't really what I was going through," she told the magazine. "I have these formulas for making music; they're almost mathematical: Who are you today? What did you write about in your diary? What idea hit you at 4:00 A.M.?"

The Dazzler

Taylor is also moving into a new home in Nashville, but says it isn't a mansion. ("I didn't want to have to MapQuest to get to the kitchen.")

Through all her success and worldwide acclaim, she sounds as grounded and humble as ever.

"Looking back on what these past two years have been for me, it feels like this magical dream of, Really? We toured all over the world? We played an arena in London? This is happening? Readjusting my goals and dreams has been something I've had to do a lot lately."
