Forget Julian Castro's takedown of Mitt Romney. And ignore Michelle Obama's passionate defense of her husband for a moment.

The big news coming out of the Democratic National Convention is that former Congressman Patrick Kennedy is a big fan of Taylor Swift!

TMZ caught up with the politician yesterday and asked about the singer because Swift is dating Robert Kennedy Jr.'s son, Conor Kennedy. How does Patrick Kennedy feel about this relationship?

"We love Taylor Swift," he replied. "She's been a great friend and we're happy for Conor... If she wants to be in the family, she's already a part of it."

By some accounts, she most definitely does want to be. Insiders claim Swift and Kennedy may elope, with those close to Taylor saying they've never seen her this smitten over a boyfriend so quickly.

That ought to make the inevitable breakup song all the more interesting!

Taylor Swift may croon about a love lost - and then found... and then lost again - in her latest hit track, "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together."

But the wildly popular singer is anything but sad about the split in that single's just-released full-length music video.

Watch below as Swift makes multiple costume changes and parties it up with friends, all of whom sing along to the chorus and seem quite pleased their pal has left the mystery subject of the song behind.

In real life, of course, Taylor has a different reason to celebrate: she's totally in love with Conor Kennedy!

Sources even claim marriage may be in this young couple's future. EEK!

Best. Breakup. Ever.

Taylor Swift will unveil the official music video for "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" tomorrow night, and based on the sneak peek released today by the artist, it looks like she won't be shedding any tears over the subject of that single any time soon.

In the glimpse below, we see Taylor and her friends partying it up (including an attendee dressed like a squirrel?), with Swift's pals in the background singing along to the catchy chorus while they throw glitter in the air.

Taylor Swift is known for penning songs about her personal life, specifically any breakup that has left her heartbroken.

But the singer is reportedly so taken with Conor Kennedy that members of his famous family don't believe Swift will ever write a track about her new 18-year old boyfriend. EVER.

That's right: the Kennedys could see this pair getting married.

Taylor Swift Down Under

I am never, ever, ever splitting with Conor Kennedy!

Swift and Kennedy just started dating in July, but insiders tell The New York Post that "things have become so serious between them so fast that no one in Hyannis Port would be surprised if they eloped.”

Taylor left her man last week in order to take care of some business in Nashville, but sources say she missed Conor so much that she sent a private plane to bring him to her in Tennessee. Adds the mole:

"They are inseparable and are all over each other all the time... She always falls very hard and becomes very intense very quickly, and this time is no exception. In fact, she seems to have fallen even harder.”

As a sure sign that the relationship is most definitely serious, Taylor accompanied Conor to his mother's grave last week.

It's official: Taylor Swift is funnier, cooler and a much better actress than Kim Kardashian.

The wildly popular singer anchors a new commercial for the MTV Video Music Awards, appearing opposite host Kevin Hart and poking fun at the fact that she writes so many songs about ex-boyfriends.

It's pretty funny and Swift is pretty terrific in it, which is a stark contrast to the wooden Kardashian and the lack of humor in her VMA ad from a couple weeks ago. Check it out now:

Taylor Swift and Conor Kennedy took a big, sad step in their relationship on Sunday.

The singer accompanied her 18-year old boyfriend and various family members to the Cape Cod cemetery where Mary Richardson Kennedy is buried. She tragically committed suicide in May.

Conor's mother had been separated from his father at the time of her death and was reportedly suffering from substance abuse problems.

Taylor Swift and Conor Kennedy Pay Respects

According to Entertainment Tonight, Swift and Kennedy - who have been dating for two months - attended church and then spent close to a half hour at Mary's grave, which is located in Hynannis near the Kennedy compound.

Taylor has actually purchased a home directly across the street from Ethel Kennedy, Conor's grandmother and a woman who has said the famous family would only be too lucky if Swift ever joined them in an official capacity.

It's very early, but it certainly appears is if things could be heading in that direction.

We still may not be sure about whom Taylor Swift is singing in her latest single, "We Are Never Getting Back Together," but we can be certain of one thing:

It's already a huge hit.

The track is on pace for 600,000 downloads in its opening week, meaning it will challenge Flo Rida (and "Right Round") for the largest debut of all-time and shatter the female record-holder: Lady Gaga with "Born This Way."

The song also broke in to the Billboard Hot 100 at number-72, but its initial seven days of sales, combined with its overwhelming airplay, make it a strong favorite to hold the top spot later this month.

SoundScan will post final scales figures tomorrow, but we don't need to wait until then to declare: the music world belongs to Taylor Swift. All other artists are just living in it.

Taylor Swift is a busy young woman.

She's dating (Conor Kennedy), she's writing songs about other people she's dated (Chord Overstreet?), she's releasing a new album in October and she's also the face of a new fragrance, "Wonderstruck Enchanted."

She's featured in a brand new ad for it here:

Taylor Swift Fragrance Ad

“I’m wearing this amazing gown that I loved as soon as I put it on," Swift tells People of the poster. "It’s a classic look, and that’s been my recent style obsession. Anything classic and timeless.”

The color scheme is appropriate, too: Taylor's next studio album will be titled "Red." But back to the perfume's name...

“Wonderstruck is about that moment when you instantly feel a connection to someone, but then there’s that feeling of being completely enamored - enchanted - when you know a little more about that someone and still feel that strong connection.”

The fragrance comes out in September and will retail for $49.50-$59.50, with body lotion available for $29.

UPDATE: It's out now! Go buy your bottle of Taylor Swift Wonderstruck perfume!

Joe Jonas famously dumped Taylor Swift over the phone in 2008. She then taunted him on Saturday Night Live.

And he responded by writing a song that slammed his ex.

But the bad blood between these young stars appears to have simmered down, as Jonas said in an interview with Washington, D.C.'s 94.7 Fresh FM yesterday that Swift's latest breakup anthem - "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" - is not based on their history.

"I don't think we've ever tried [to get back together] another time, so I can tell you it's not about me," he said. "That said, I think the song is great. Taylor does pop music really well and I'm happy for her."

Are the two now on speaking terms? Not really. However:

"I haven't really spoken to her recently, but I was able to go to her concert last year, and her show live is so phenomenal," Jonas added. "I would say anybody should go see it if they haven't had a chance."

Swift is now dating Conor Kennedy, but fans are more focused on her past than her present. With Jonas out of the running, we remain convinced this track was penned about Chord Overstreet.

Taylor Swift may be spending a lot of time with new boyfriend Conor Kennedy these days, but the singer isn't resting on her musical laurels.

She made it very clear during a Web chat this week, during which Swift announced a new album and also debuted a new single: she's about to blast back on to the charts.

As part of the promotion for "Red," which comes out on October 22, Taylor has released a lyrics video in honor of "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together." Check it out now:

Fans, of course, are both enjoying the song and asking questions about it, namely:

Which ex-boyfriend is at the center of a track whose words include “You would hide away and find some peace of mind with an indie record that’s much cooler than mine?"

Our best guess: Chord Overstreet, who briefly dated Swift in 2011 and who left Glee for a period in order to record a solo album.

Sound off now with your take on who Swift is singing about:
