It's official: Taylor Swift is funnier, cooler and a much better actress than Kim Kardashian.

The wildly popular singer anchors a new commercial for the MTV Video Music Awards, appearing opposite host Kevin Hart and poking fun at the fact that she writes so many songs about ex-boyfriends.

It's pretty funny and Swift is pretty terrific in it, which is a stark contrast to the wooden Kardashian and the lack of humor in her VMA ad from a couple weeks ago. Check it out now:

Taylor Swift and Conor Kennedy took a big, sad step in their relationship on Sunday.

The singer accompanied her 18-year old boyfriend and various family members to the Cape Cod cemetery where Mary Richardson Kennedy is buried. She tragically committed suicide in May.

Conor's mother had been separated from his father at the time of her death and was reportedly suffering from substance abuse problems.

Taylor Swift and Conor Kennedy Pay Respects

According to Entertainment Tonight, Swift and Kennedy - who have been dating for two months - attended church and then spent close to a half hour at Mary's grave, which is located in Hynannis near the Kennedy compound.

Taylor has actually purchased a home directly across the street from Ethel Kennedy, Conor's grandmother and a woman who has said the famous family would only be too lucky if Swift ever joined them in an official capacity.

It's very early, but it certainly appears is if things could be heading in that direction.

We still may not be sure about whom Taylor Swift is singing in her latest single, "We Are Never Getting Back Together," but we can be certain of one thing:

It's already a huge hit.

The track is on pace for 600,000 downloads in its opening week, meaning it will challenge Flo Rida (and "Right Round") for the largest debut of all-time and shatter the female record-holder: Lady Gaga with "Born This Way."

The song also broke in to the Billboard Hot 100 at number-72, but its initial seven days of sales, combined with its overwhelming airplay, make it a strong favorite to hold the top spot later this month.

SoundScan will post final scales figures tomorrow, but we don't need to wait until then to declare: the music world belongs to Taylor Swift. All other artists are just living in it.

Taylor Swift is a busy young woman.

She's dating (Conor Kennedy), she's writing songs about other people she's dated (Chord Overstreet?), she's releasing a new album in October and she's also the face of a new fragrance, "Wonderstruck Enchanted."

She's featured in a brand new ad for it here:

Taylor Swift Fragrance Ad

“I’m wearing this amazing gown that I loved as soon as I put it on," Swift tells People of the poster. "It’s a classic look, and that’s been my recent style obsession. Anything classic and timeless.”

The color scheme is appropriate, too: Taylor's next studio album will be titled "Red." But back to the perfume's name...

“Wonderstruck is about that moment when you instantly feel a connection to someone, but then there’s that feeling of being completely enamored - enchanted - when you know a little more about that someone and still feel that strong connection.”

The fragrance comes out in September and will retail for $49.50-$59.50, with body lotion available for $29.

UPDATE: It's out now! Go buy your bottle of Taylor Swift Wonderstruck perfume!

Joe Jonas famously dumped Taylor Swift over the phone in 2008. She then taunted him on Saturday Night Live.

And he responded by writing a song that slammed his ex.

But the bad blood between these young stars appears to have simmered down, as Jonas said in an interview with Washington, D.C.'s 94.7 Fresh FM yesterday that Swift's latest breakup anthem - "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" - is not based on their history.

"I don't think we've ever tried [to get back together] another time, so I can tell you it's not about me," he said. "That said, I think the song is great. Taylor does pop music really well and I'm happy for her."

Are the two now on speaking terms? Not really. However:

"I haven't really spoken to her recently, but I was able to go to her concert last year, and her show live is so phenomenal," Jonas added. "I would say anybody should go see it if they haven't had a chance."

Swift is now dating Conor Kennedy, but fans are more focused on her past than her present. With Jonas out of the running, we remain convinced this track was penned about Chord Overstreet.

Taylor Swift may be spending a lot of time with new boyfriend Conor Kennedy these days, but the singer isn't resting on her musical laurels.

She made it very clear during a Web chat this week, during which Swift announced a new album and also debuted a new single: she's about to blast back on to the charts.

As part of the promotion for "Red," which comes out on October 22, Taylor has released a lyrics video in honor of "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together." Check it out now:

Fans, of course, are both enjoying the song and asking questions about it, namely:

Which ex-boyfriend is at the center of a track whose words include “You would hide away and find some peace of mind with an indie record that’s much cooler than mine?"

Our best guess: Chord Overstreet, who briefly dated Swift in 2011 and who left Glee for a period in order to record a solo album.

Sound off now with your take on who Swift is singing about:

This just in: Taylor Swift is very popular.

The latest case in point: Swift's fans (T-Swizzlers?) have proved to be more aggressive and enthusiastic than 25 million Little Monsters, as they helped Swift earn a new iTunes record.

She bested Lady Gaga in the process.

Within 50 minutes of its release last night, Swift's "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" shot to the top of the iTunes singles chart, knocking "Born This Way" from its perch as the fastest-selling single in digital history.

While fans try to determine just which ex-boyfriend Taylor is singing about this time around, the artist prepared them last night - during a live Web chat - for another emotional album.

Speaking of October's "Red," the superstar previewed:

"All the different emotions that are written about on this album are all pretty much about the kind of tumultuous, crazy, insane, intense, semi-toxic relationships that I’ve experienced in the last two years.

"All those emotions - spanning from intense love, intense frustration, jealousy, confusion, all of that - in my mind, all those emotions are red. You know, there’s nothing in between. There’s nothing beige about any of those feelings."

So... who is it about?

That's the first question fans have for Taylor Swift, as the singer played host to a number of fans last night during a live Web chat and answered a number of questions about her career. To wit:

"I have a new album coming out October 22 and I wanted to tell you about it and I wanted to tell you all about it right now," she told the crowd, teasing them with the title of the debut single off the upcoming CD:

We Are Never Getting Back Together.

So, we ask again: Who is this breakup anthem about?

In the track - listen to "We Are Never Getting Back Together" now! - Swift croons about an on-again/off-again relationship, also mentioning an "indie record" that her ex sets out to make.

Any theories?

In her current personal life, Taylor couldn't be happier. She's dating Conor Kennedy and even just purchased a beach house right next door to his family.

Oh yes. It's safe to say things are getting very serious very quickly between Taylor Swift and her new boyfriend, the 18-year old son of Robert Kennedy Jr.

Not long after Swift and Conor Kennedy became an official couple, the singer introduced the famous offspring to her parents in Nashville - and now she's making a move toward his family. A major one.

As first reported by People, Taylor has purchased a $4.9 million mansion in Hyannis Port, Massachusetts, right across the street from Conor's grandmother, Ethel Kennedy. It has seven bedrooms, five bedrooms and its view looks like this:

The residence is located on right on a private beach and comes with a guesthouse and a private road with seasonal security.

Asked by members of the press this month how she'd react if Swift actually married Conor, Ethel replied: "We should be so lucky!"

It may be a tad premature, but this is a significant step in that fantasy actually becoming a reality.

It's more than just official, Taylor Swift and Conor Kennedy are now serious.

Just how serious?

The country singing superstar introduced the 18-year old offspring of Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. and Mary Kennedy to her parents in Nashville this week, with a Twitter user actually snapping a photo of the quartet at dinner:

Photos first surfaced of Swift and Kennedy on July 4 weekend, as they spent time with his family in Hyannis Port, Massachusetts.

Since then, the couple has shared a few meals in public and an insider tells Us Weekly that Swift is "head over heels" for her new young man: "It's really puppy love right now."

Conor's famous grandmother, Ethel Kennedy, is all for the union. Asked about it last week at the Television Critics Association press tour, Ethel said of the possibility that Swift could become part of this famous family:

"We should be so lucky!"
