Sharknado 2 (official sequel title Sharknado 2: The Second One) is coming this July, and original stars Tara Reid and Ian Ziering will both be partaking.

Paul Bales, from the company behind Sharknado, said of their returns: "We're thrilled to be able to bring back the talent that made Sharknado a hit."

Can lightning strike twice for the surprise SyFy hit?

"I don't know, but it's a scientific fact that you're more likely to be killed by lightning than by a shark. This film will have lightning and sharks, so that's got to count for something."

Tara Reid was a guest on Discovery Channel's Shark Week talk show this week, and wow, did she enlighten us with her discussion of whale sharks.

"So I look up 'sharks' on the Internet," the Sharknado star said.

"Today I was like, all right, I don't want to, like, really sound stupid when I do this show today, like... so I learned a little education on sharks."

"No, there is a thing called whale sharks, and then I realized whales are mammals and sharks are animals, so they have nothing to do with each other."

Tara played the estranged wife of shark-slaughtering Ian - he killed a ton! - in the movie and even survived a massive shark attack in her own home.

Despite that feat, rumor has it that she's out of the mix.

Ladies and gentlemen, we are one step closer to a Sharknado sequel.

On the heels of last Thursday's mega Syfy success (judging by reactions on Twitter, at least) Tara Reid has told TMZ that she would totally sign on for a follow-up to this television movie.

"I'm just so glad that people saw the humor in it that I did... because it's hilarious," Reid said, adding that she'd appear in future editions of the franchise and:

"This movie was so ridiculous, you know? Like it's almost so bad that it's good."

So bad it's GREAT, Tara.

But would should the inevitable sequel be titled? You tell us:
