When immature, self-serving moron Carrie Prejean was finally fired as Miss California USA for violating her contract last week, next in line was Tami Farrell.

Now that Farrell has been crowned, she too has been asked about her views on the hot topic of gay marriage, which Prejean says cost her the Miss USA title.

Prejean famously denounced gay marriage during the finals and became embroiled in a whirlwind of controversy (over that and her topless photos) thereafter.

Now it's her replacement in the hot seat, like it or not, and Tami Farrell told Fox News that she believes that marriage is the union of a man and a woman.

However, she gracefully qualified that statement as such:

Tami Farrell says she wants to unify, not divide California.

"I don't think that I have the right or anybody has a right to tell somebody who they can or can't love," she said. "And I think that this is a civil rights issue. And I think that the right thing to do is let the voters decide."

Wow. An intelligent, non-preachy and honest response, and no comments about Satan tempting her with such evil questions either. Way to go, Tami!

Farrell added that she thinks it's silly that people turn to beauty queens for an opinion on the subject. This is definitely true, however, Tami also says she understands that when she became Miss California, she got a crown and a microphone.

The state of California is in danger of going bankrupt, while tensions remain high between fans of the Los Angeles Dodgers and fans of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

But, not to worry Golden Staters, Tami Farrell is on the way!

In an interview with The Today Show this morning, the woman who has taken over as Miss California - following the firing of Carrie Prejean - said she'd try her best to bring the state together.

"I was a little hesitant to be stepping into the line of fire, I'll be honest," she said. "There's been divisive questions. I've been brought in to try and unify our state. I'm not being silenced for my beliefs, but I just think that this isn't a battle that anybody can win, so I'm going to do my best to just refocus it on some of the other aspects."

Meanwhile, pageant director Keith Lewis sat alongside Farrell and commented on Prejean's dismissal.

He said the narrow-minded, immature beauty queen missed "tens and tens and tens" of appearances, while insisting that she wasn't dethroned for her political views.

"I think it's time for us to move back this political platform that she was fired because of her beliefs, because that dog just won't hunt," Lewis said.

As our staff tried to calmly explain earlier, Lewis compared this decision to the laying off an employee at any job.

"I think if you tell your boss, 'I'm not gonna do the job, I'm gonna do whatever I want, you can't tell me what I’m gonna do,' I think that you expect that your boss is gonna say to you, You know what? You're probably not supposed to be in this job anymore.

"It was just very difficult for us, and we tried to meet halfway, and it was obvious that wasn't going to happen. Finally, there was a point when the organization really had to stand up and say, You know what? It's time for us to move on and get back to the business of beauty."

How did Carrie react to her firing? She mentioned America, misunderstood the concept of "freedom of speech" and referenced God four times in just a few sentences.

Earlier today, the co-directors of the Miss California pageant - Keith Lewis and Shanna Moakler - read statements and answered questions from the media regarding the recent Carrie Prejean hullabaloo.

A couple staff members from The Hollywood Gossip were in attendance; and while we'll get to the confusing details in a moment, here are the main points to take away from the press conference:

  • Tami Farrell has been installed as the new Miss California Ambassador/Replacement for Prejean Regardless of What Donald Trump Decides Tomorrow.
  • Lewis and Moakler are really, really mad at Prejean.

The event began with Lewis reading a statement, during which he said Miss California officials played no role in choosing the judges for Miss USA, nor did they have any indication that Perez Hilton would ask Prejean about gay marriage.

Basically, he distanced the state pageant, and all subsequent remarks about Carrie, from her controversial beliefs.

Next, Lewis went to town on the National Organization of Marriage. He said it was a "shame, shame, shame, shame" that an outside organization would help a young woman violate her contract (which called for no interviews or affiliations without permission from Miss California officials).

Lewis blamed the organization for attaching itself to "any glimmer of an ally," with no regard for the effect it would have on that individual's life. He even called out the President of the National Organization of Marriage, Maggie Gallagher, for supposedly, personally pocketing 42% of the donations sent in for her cause.

Any moment now, Tami Farrell may be named Miss California.

The runner-up to Carrie Prejean in that state's most recent beauty pageant is next in line for the crown if officials decide to revoke it from the winner, due to her recently-leaked, semi-nude photos.

In an interview with Access Hollywood last week, Farrell made it clear that she's prepared to take on the incredibly huge responsibility of Miss California if it comes to that. Here are excerpts from the conversation:

On taking over for Carrie Prejean: “I would be honored to represent the state of California if they need me for my responsibilities as first runner-up. I wouldn’t mind stepping into the spotlight.”

On Prejean's anti-gay marriage answer: "The problem is that it’s not just about what she believes, she has signed on for a position as Miss California and she cannot represent the entire state based upon her own beliefs. She can go for that cause as Carrie, but not as Miss California.”

Tami Farrell to Miss California officials: Pick me, choose me, love me!

On the response she would have given Perez Hilton: "I would let the people of each state decide and let the laws be made on that sense. I’m just a simple beauty queen and I think it’s funny that it’s a question scholars and politicians have debated on, and now we’re looking to a beauty queen for the answers.”

On Prejean undergoing breast enhancement surgery: “It surprised me, but I think it’s her personal decision. Honestly, I feel that when she won Miss California, judges fell in love with who she was and I don’t think that she needed to have it.”

On ever getting a boob job herself: “I think I’m good. I’m good with this body.”

According to E! News, the co-directors of the Miss California USA pageant, Keith Lewis and Shanna Moakler, will be holding a press conference on Monday to announce their decision on gay marriage-opposing, semi-nude title holder Carrie Prejean.

Officials are in talks with the 21-year-old beauty queen's reps to determine whether she should keep the coveted tiara due to possible contract violations.

Carrie Prejean has been a lightning rod for controversy since she lost out - she was first runner-up - to Kristen Dalton at the Miss USA Pageant April 19.

First, there were her public appearances with same-sex marriage opponents, then sexy topless and underwear pics she took as a teen and did not disclose.

Many believe that her anti-gay marriage stance, revealed after judge Perez Hilton asked about it during the finals, cost Prejean the Miss USA title.

Will Carrie Prejean lose her crown to Miss California runner-up Tami Farrell? Speculation has been brewing for days, and on Monday, her fate will be announced.

Either way, she's still Miss California - unless contest owner Donald Trump decides to strip her of that crown. Ultimately, the decision rests with him alone.

Carrie's father, Will, predicts she will keep her crown. He also said that Sarah Palin and the gay community are both on her side, though, so who knows.

If there's a precedent for this sort of thing, it may have been set in 2006 when Miss USA Tara Conner was not stripped of her crown by Trump despite alcohol, drug and girl-on-girl action photos that leaked to the Internets.

However, one indicator of which way Trump & Co. are leaning this time around could be that Tami Farrell, the first runner-up in the Miss California pageant, will be on hand at Monday's press conference. So stay tuned.

What do you think? Should Carrie Prejean lose her title?

It's official: Carrie Prejean has lied about topless photos almost as often as George W. Bush lied about weapons of mass destruction.

Earlier this week, in response to a leaked picture of her topless, the controversial beauty queen claimed there were "no other photos" of herself in such a pose.

Prejean Press Conference

But TheDirty.com has published a new shot of Prejean, once again wearing nothing but a sexy pair of pink undies. We aren't math majors, but we're pretty sure this makes TWO topless Carrie Prejean pics:

Are more racy photos of Carrie Prejean on the way? And will she continue to mislead the public about their existence? Stay tuned!

Forget her religion, forget her Bible references and forget her stance on gay marriage. People of California, we ask:

Do you want someone representing you that has not only violated the nudity clause in her pageant's contract, but has proceeded to lie about how many times she did so?

Meanwhile, Tami Farrell appeared on Access Hollywood last night. The Miss California runner-up said she's ready to take on the crown if officials strip it from Prejean.

"I would be honored to represent the state of California if they need me for my responsibilities as first runner-up," Tami said. "I wouldn't mind stepping into the spotlight."

As for Carrie, Farrell tried to remain diplomatic: "There is a lot of controversy right now. I commend her actually for taking a stance in something she believes in."

It looks like the cat fight between Carrie Prejean and Perez Hilton might pale in comparison to the tiara tussle Prejean might soon get into with Tami Farrell.

Allow us to explain:

An Awful Human Being

Due to Prejean's leaked racy photo, followed by the lie over said leaked racy photo, Miss California Pageant officials are meeting to decide Carrie's fate. They may strip her of her title due to clear contractual stipulations that prohibit lewd pictures of any kind.

Enter Farrell.

Tiara Tussler: Tami Farrell wants Carrie Prejean's crown!

She finished second to Prejean at the beauty competition, meaning she's next in line to represent California as its top, well, Miss. With that in mind, Tami sent an email to a pageant official earlier today. Check out her attempt to remain diplomatic, while also trying to coax the verdict in her direction:

I would never want to steal someone's spotlight... [Carrie's] beliefs are not what is in question, but her contractual obligations to the Miss California USA program... I...can only hope to refocus all of the attention from the current controversy onto some of the more positive aspects of the program.

Translation: I love gay people and I look great in a swimsuit!

There's no word yet on when this case, the most pressing since O.J. Simpson, will be decided. Who do you think should wear the Miss California crown?

Due to a violation of her contract (NOT because she spoke out against gay marriage, calm down everyone on both sides of that issue!), Carrie Prejean may lose her Miss California crown.

This seems perfectly logical to us: there were clear rules associated with the honor of being named Miss California and Prejean violated them.

If pageant officials do take Carrie's title away, to whom will it be awarded? Tami Farrell, come on down!

Farrell finished second to Prejean. Named Miss Teen USA in 2003, Tami has appeared on the former NBC soap opera, Passions, and won Miss Malibu USA earlier this year.

She has no history of posing naked, nor has Farrell ever given an interview without permission from those in charge of her pageants.

Lost amidst the Carrie Prejean hullabaloo is the fact that an innocent runner-up may actually be the deserving woman to carry around the crown of Miss California. Prejean campaigned for that honor on the platform of supporting the Special Olympics, yet we have not heard her utter one word about it since.

Instead, Prejean has seized an opportunity for self-aggrandizing fame. She has broken pageant rules in doing so.

Meanwhile, Tami Farrell waits at home, alone, crown-less, simply hoping to follow in the benevolent, charitable tradition of Golden State title winners. We believe in you, Tami.
