After telling the audience she wanted to win "more than anything ever in my life," Susan Boyle advanced to the finals of Britain's Got Talent today, following an impressive rendition of the Cats' classic "Memory."

Watch the performance below:

The show's winner will be announced next week.

Boyle said a victory for her would "prove that I am a worthwhile person."

That's actually a very sad sentiment. We hope Boyle, nor anyone else, attaches her self-worth to where she places in a singing competition. Don't you agree?

A pair of global icons met in front of a television audience today, as Susan Boyle appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show.

Asked about her world famous makeover, the Britain's Got Talent contestant said doesn't consider her new look too drastic of a change.

"Depends what you mean by a makeover," Boyle said. "I mean, my best friend actually helps me with my makeup. You know, I mean, that's hardly a makeover."

The singer debuted a $50 dye job last month, which she said was meant "just to tidy myself up, like any other female would have done.

Regarding her chances to win Britain's Got Talent, Boyle remained humble.

"Well, I hope I have the chance, but at the same time, there's a lot of other talent in the competition, so I'm willing to take my place with them," she said. "There's a lot of good talent on the show."

We love Boyle, but she's right. The show won't be a mere coronation for her. Hollie Steel and Jamie Pugh will have a lot to say about who comes out on top.

Even though Susan Boyle claims she was just kidding when she said she's never been kissed, former American Idol star Michael Johns told Us Weekly he'd totally go to first base with the aspiring singer.

"I already said I'd kiss her myself if I ever saw her," Johns said last week at the Los Angeles premiere of X-Men Origins: Wolverine. "As a person that loves music - when did you have to be good looking to be a good singer? It doesn’t matter what you look like... Susan Boyle is a good story, I like that."

Away from the Road

So do we.

Johns performed last week on American Idol and will return to that stage for the season finale on May 19.

The world may have just discovered Susan Boyle last month.

But those that attended a local talent show in Scotland - in 1984 - have known about this singer's vocal chops for the last 25 years.

Some dude named Gerry McGuinness, who was in the audience that night at Motherwell Football Club's social club, has uncovered a tape of the Britain's Got Talent contestant singing "The Way We Were."

"She was so shy, but she was also very attractive back then. She turned a few heads when she came in," he said. "It's great she is finally getting some recognition."

McGuinness added that Boyle actually did not win the contest that year. Will the same upset take place on Britain's Got Talent?

Yes, if Hollie Steel has her way!

Forget Adam Lambert vs. Danny Gokey on American Idol.

The true reality singing competition is across the Atlantic, as early favorites Susan Boyle and Hollie Steel prepare for a showdown on Britain's Got Talent.

Boyle, of course, has earned national acclaim through her age, appearance and incredible voice. But Steel, only 10 years old, is coming on strong.

Who will win Britain's Got Talent?

When asked about her rival, Steel held nothing back:

“I like her new look, but I think it looked better before. My advice to Susan would be, ‘Don’t change your look [more] because if you change your look you won’t be who you are,'" Hollie said to Extra.

The young singer also has a message for Boyle: "Good luck and I hope I can beat you."

It is so on.

This just in: Simon Cowell is not always right.

The American Idol and Britain's Got Talent judge says he and his panel totally misjudged Susan Boyle, as he told Entertainment Tonight: "We were all guilty of judging her before she sang."

With that admission out of the way, Simon went on to offer advice to Boyle, starting with the attention she's received for supposedly never kissing a man and for undergoing a mini makeover.

"I am tired now of hearing about the way she looks or the kissing or this or that. Get yourself together, sweetheart, for the big one, which is the semi-finals [of Britain's Got Talent]," Cowell said. "Chose the right song. Focus yourself. Shut your front door and maybe take a holiday and come back as the person you want to be, not the person you think you should be."

After all, Boyle doesn't have the title locked up. Have you heard Shaheen Jafargholi sing?!?

Susan Boyle is short, plump and, most importantly, happy.

The Britain's Got Talent and YouTube sensation spoke to The London Times over the weekend and reiterated her hesitance to get a makeover.

SuBo Pic

"I'm happy the way I am: short and plump. I would not go in for Botox or anything like that," Boyle said. "I'm content with the way I look. What's wrong with looking like Susan Boyle? What's the matter with that?"

Millions - and we mean millions - of people see nothing the matter with that at all.

Regarding her sudden fame, Boyle admitted to being taken back by all the attention.

"I've got a lot to learn about a lot of things. This is all very new to me. I went to bed one night, just me, and woke up in the morning to a group of about 30 children outside chanting my name. Then I came home from my brother's, and it was like the paparazzi were all in the street."

As Britain's Got Talent continues, expect the surge in popularity to increase for this 48-year old prodigy.

The Susan Boyle publicity tour continued last night... and we can't get enough!

The 48y-year old singer appeared on Larry King Live, speaking with the host and with Britain's Got Talent judge Piers Morgan.

Asked about getting a makeover, Boyle gave a refreshing answer: "Why should I? Why should I change?"

During the taping, Boyle also nailed a verse of Celine Dion's "My Heart Will Go On." Check it out below:
