Okay, the staff at The Hollywood Gossip may have editorialized that headline a bit. But it's not so far from the truth.

Star Jones-Reynolds, who was asked to leave The View in June, is owning up to her reputation as a diva " and tells Extra she's learning from her mistakes.

Far From a Star

"I've earned that diva image. It's not something that I can hide from," she said. "I admit sometimes I have enjoyed the celebrity more than I should have. It was well-earned, but it's softened now."

Among the annoyoing, self-cented stunts she pulled on The View, Reynolds shilled for free products for her wedding to Al Reynolds in November 2004. Rosie O'Donnell may hate Asians, but she certainly isn't a shill.

Indeed, she told People magazine in July that she "believed the hype" about herself.

"I was on a hit show, doing (ads for) Payless; I was getting my health together; I met Al. I started to think, 'Oooo, I got it going on!' Now I know: Everything I had was a gift."

Jones, who wrote the self-help memoir Shine: A Physical, Emotional and Spiritual Journey to Finding Love, says she is changing her ways.

"I am rejoicing in learning from my mistakes and missteps and trips and falls," she explains. "I've learned that sometimes modesty and humility shows the most strength and courage. That's the Star that you see right now."

Hey, Star, as long as you're speaking in the third person, you're the Star we've always seen. Perhaps you should speak to George Clooney and see whay humility actually sounds like.

It's a good thing no one realy listens to the radio anymore - because that's where you'll soon be able to find Star Jones Reynolds again.

The useless talk show host and mind-numbing lawyer, who has been keeping a low profile since her public ousting from The View this summer, is about to get back on the air for a brief radio stint.

Far From a Star

"I am very excited to let you know that for three days next week (Monday, Dec. 18 through Wednesday, Dec. 20), I will be hosting a three-hour radio program for the Radio One broadcasting network," Star said.

She then went on to beg for fans, similarly to how the Asian community has begged for the head of her replacement, Rosie O'Donnell.

"We've got news, information, entertainment, law special celebrity guests, etc. Now I need you to know that I cannot do this without you. I want you to join me by listening and calling in with your questions and thoughts, as well as experiences."

Here are questions for you, Star: how come ratings on The View have soared since your departure? Do you think Kelly Ripa is homophobic?

And is there any way K-Fed actually hooked up with Jennifer Aniston?

We enjoy picking the minds of our readers. For example, how much would you pay to go on a date with Petra Nemcova, Jessica Biel or Eva Longoria?

As you ponder that question, weigh this one, as well: Which of the following items are funnier?

A Shooting Star
  • Star Jones planning her own talk show; or Al Reynolds planning an autobiography?

It's a tough one, we know. The married couple has moved out of New York City and is currently residing in Miami as each tries to get his/her life in order.

As the deposed co-host on The View, Jones seems to think people care one iota about anything she has to say. Or maybe she just assumes that her skin color and body type will lead to Oprah-like success.

Meanwhile, Reynolds is reportedly trying to come up with material for an autobiography. It's gonna be a challenge. Peter Sarsgaard has led a more interesting life.

According to the New York Post, Star and Al are annoying. No, that's not right. They're actually just trying to "escape the pressure of New York."

And who can blame them? It's stressful being an ignored couple in a big city.

Gone from The View, Star Jones is desperate to remain in the spotlight somehow. While an attack on Rosie O'Donnell is never out of the question, the former host is focusing on the National Enquirer for now.

Indeed, Jones has given the publication an ultimatum: admit that a story calling her her marriage a "sham" is untrue, or prepare to do battle in court. Or simply suffer the wrath of hearing Star speak for any period of time.

Far From a Star

Bob Chapman, the high-powered attorney who represents Star and Al, told that the Enquirer's story that Al is gay and the marriage is falling apart is not true. Chapman insists, "They are happily married," adding that Star is "emotional and stressed out" over the story.

Yes, folks, emotional AND stressed out. In related news, Brooke Hogan is talentless AND a hack.

The article in question features the headline "Star Jones' Husband Walks Out!" In a demand letter to the Enquirer, Chapman writes the article is "false and defamatory" and has "caused them massive damage."

The letter also states, "You have also chosen to state that Mr. Reynolds is gay. While Mr. and Mrs. Reynolds believe that everyone should be free to make their own choice concerning sexual preference and that there is nothing wrong with being gay, you have nonetheless chosen to falsely state that Mr. Reynolds is gay."

Yup, you heard him say it twice: Mr. Reynolds is gay. And that's fine. A welcoming phone call should be coming from Lance Bass any day now.

Chapman also states that the Enquirer has done "grave damage to their reputations, both publicly and privately." Is is possible to have a private reputation? Discuss.

We also didn't know any more damage could be done to Star. Isn't that like saying Nicole Richie can still get thinner?

In a recent interview with Jawn Murray of AOL's Black Voices, Star said:

"I love my husband and he loves and respects me - period! People can say what they want, but Al and I share what I like to call an unbreakable bond. It's not easy being under such intense scrutiny by the media. All we're trying to do is live our lives as Mr. and Mrs. Reynolds."

And find a job. Is anyone looking for an annoying, spoiled lawyer who thinks she has something to offer society? Anyone?

Star Jones Quotes

It is a sad day when an icon like Barbara Walters, in the sunset of her life, is reduced to publicly branding herself as an adulterer, humiliating an innocent family with accounts of her illicit affair and speaking negatively against me all for the sake of selling a book. It speaks to her true character.
