It's sort of official: there's serious bad blood brewing between Taylor Swift and Katy Perry.

It all started when Swift told Rolling Stone that she penned a song on hew new album about an enemy in the world of music, someone who did “something so horrible” when she tried to “sabotage an entire arena tour."

Then, not long after these comments went public, Perry Tweeted a reference to Mean Girls and a "Regina George in sheep's clothing," who we're rather positive is Taylor Swift.

So the claws are pretty much out between two of the top-selling artists in pop music history.

Will things get uglier from here? Who will fire the next shot? And where does this feud rank among recent famous rivalries, which include Drake Bell HATING on Justin Bieber and Jimmy Kimmel trading barbs with Kanye West?

The feud between Sinead O'Connor and Miley Cyrus appears to be over.

Following days' worth of back and forth last month, including four letters sent by the Irish singer to the American artist, how is O'Connor feelings these days about the controversial 20-year old?

Grateful, she said in a new interview.

"I think what was more important really that came out of the Miley thing was this issue of being able to conversate about how mental health and human rights is now," O'Connor said.

So much for the end of the Sinead O'Connor-Miley Cyrus feud.

During her Today Show interview with Matt Lauer this week, Cyrus referred to O'Connor as an "incredible artist" and reiterated that she drew inspiration from the Irish singer for her "Wrecking Ball" video.

But she also said she didn't understand how O'Connor could praise her one moment (in Sinead's first open letter) and then follow that up by saying 'you suck!'"

That's not at all what O'Connor said, of course, but the nuances of her music industry critique appears to have gone over Miley's head.

"It's all good. You can write as many open letters as you want," Miley concluded in her NBC chat. "That's really what blogging is. I get open letters every day. It's nothing too new for me."

And so Sinead has taken this advice and penned a fourth missive to Cyrus, this time laying out exactly why she's angry and again asking for an apology.

Sinead O'Connor showed off a couple new sides in an interview with Ireland's The Late Late Show on Friday.

First, the singer said she was done feuding with Miley Cyrus. Then, she debuted a pair of cheek tattoos.

"It's not actually about Miley," O'Connor said of her stance that started this rivalry, which took the music industry to task more than the 20-year old artist. "As far as I'm concerned it's over, it's not something I really want to talk about."

But then O'Connor was pressed and did talk about it, of course.

It's the feud no one saw coming - and it's also the feud we can't stop talking about.

In one corner: Miley Cyrus, 20-year artist, wrecking ball rider, nearly naked Twerker extraordinaire.

In the other corner: Sinead O'Connor, 46-year singer, critic of the music industry, potential plaintiff in a lawsuit against Miley Cyrus.

Sinead O'Connor is not interested in meeting up with Miley Cyrus.

But she may want to sue the singer.

The Unexpected Feud Heard 'Round the World took a new twist today, as O'Connor responded to Miley's request for a meet up with a third open letter - and her first threat of legal action.

"I have no interest whatsoever in meeting you," Sinead wrote on Facebook, after Cyrus half-heartedly extended an invitation in an attempt to settle a dispute that began when O'Connor warned Cyrus of prostitution in the music business.

O'Connor then continued, referencing Miley's Tweeted outing of her history of mental illness:

"You had plenty of time yesterday to abuse Amanda Bynes .. an entirely innocent party.. and myself.. who also did nothing to deserve your abuse.. along with every other sufferer of mental health problems and every person who suffered abuse at the hands of priests."

Miley Cyrus has made a peace offering to Sinead O'Connor.

It's wrapped in conceited snark, but hey. It's still a peace offering.

The unexpected beef between these artists started a couple days ago when O'Connor penned an open letter to Cyrus, castigating the music business, actually complimenting Miley's "obvious" talent and suggesting she keep her clothes on.

But Miley focused on the negative and lashed out big time at the Irish star.

She recounted O'Connor's history of mental illness via a series of Tweets the singer sent during a dark period and compared Sinead to Amanda Bynes.

We had to know Sinead O'Connor would fire back, didn't we?

The singer first posted an open letter to Miley Cyrus yesterday, begging the artist to remain clothed and to not allow herself to be prostituted by the music industry. It was really more of a critique of that business world than a slam of the singer.

But Miley took the posting very personally - and replied even more personally.

She ran multiple Tweets from O'Connor's former account that depicted the head-shaved star as mentally unstable, referencing a troubled time in Sinead's life and comparing her to Amanda Bynes.

So O'Connor has now fired off a second letter via Facebook.

Ding! Ding! It is very much on between Miley Cyrus and Sinead O'Connor, who called out the Twerking pop star earlier today. Now Miles is responding in kind.

And then some. Hours after the Irish singer advised Miley to keep her clothes on and not let the music industry treat her as a prostitute, the 20-year old artist has fired back.

With Tweets invoking O'Connor's unstable history.

Prefacing her Re-Tweeting rampage, Miley wrote "Before Amanda Bynes… There was…" and then posted a screen shot of messages from O'Connor's very own account.

They included Tweets of Sinead asking for professional help (“does any1 know a psychiatrist in Dublin or wicklow who could urgently see my today please?”) and saying she "desperately need to get back on meds today."
