Earlier today, the co-directors of the Miss California pageant - Keith Lewis and Shanna Moakler - read statements and answered questions from the media regarding the recent Carrie Prejean hullabaloo.

A couple staff members from The Hollywood Gossip were in attendance; and while we'll get to the confusing details in a moment, here are the main points to take away from the press conference:

• Tami Farrell has been installed as the new Miss California Ambassador/Replacement for Prejean Regardless of What Donald Trump Decides Tomorrow.
• Lewis and Moakler are really, really mad at Prejean.

The event began with Lewis reading a statement, during which he said Miss California officials played no role in choosing the judges for Miss USA, nor did they have any indication that Perez Hilton would ask Prejean about gay marriage.

Basically, he distanced the state pageant, and all subsequent remarks about Carrie, from her controversial beliefs.

Next, Lewis went to town on the National Organization of Marriage. He said it was a "shame, shame, shame, shame" that an outside organization would help a young woman violate her contract (which called for no interviews or affiliations without permission from Miss California officials).

Lewis blamed the organization for attaching itself to "any glimmer of an ally," with no regard for the effect it would have on that individual's life. He even called out the President of the National Organization of Marriage, Maggie Gallagher, for supposedly, personally pocketing 42% of the donations sent in for her cause.

Never have beauty pageants made so many headlines for reasons other than their bikini bodies.

In the wake of the Carrie Prejean controversy, Shanna Moakler - the director of the Miss California USA pageant - has posed in a new ad supporting gay rights.

The former Miss USA and Playboy centerfold shot a print ad this week in which she slams Proposition 8, the initiative that bans gay marriage in California.

A pair of former Miss California contestants - Raquel Beezley and Tamiko Nash - join Moakler in the poster below.

"I believe Prop 8 lead a campaign of confusion and never made clear what was being asked of the people," Moakler said in a statement. "I find most people have a problem with the word marriage. What I hope for is helping others understand 'civil union' and then one day helping people learn 'marriage' is something not God, not the state or country can solidify, but between two people who love each other."

Thoughts on Moakler's stance?

As a former Miss USA, Shanna Moakler does possess a smidgen of credibility when addressing the controversy regarding Carrie Prejean and this year's pageant.

The former contestant wrote on her MySpace blog that Prejean did NOT cost herself the crown with what she said in response to Perez Hilton's gay marriage question; rather, the issue was how she said it.

"She lost the crown because she wasn't able to convey compassion for ALL the people that, as MISS USA, she would be representing," Moakler wrote. "And if YOU like it or not, gays and lesbians make up this country as well. THIS is why we have judges, so they can find the RIGHT woman who obtains these qualities."

Moakler has no problem with Miss California standing by her convictions, however.

"[I don't] have any issue with her stating her opinion... I agree with the majority that this IS what makes our country great... freedom of speech. She was asked a question, and she answered it."

Carrie Prejean was seeking a crown. Instead, she found controversy.

Once again, Shanna Moakler and Travis Barker have called it quits.

This time, though, amid allegations that an affair with Gerard Butler was the basis for their break up, Moakler is speaking out.

The former beauty queen has taken to her MySpace blog to rail against Barker and the endless insults that have been flying her way. To wit:

"Just so there is no confusion or 'source' to attack my character, I am saying my side," Shanna writes. "Travis and I were very much together in September when the horrific [jet crash] happened. Not only did I fly to Georgia, I stayed by his side the entire stay and also for the bus ride home to L.A. I think any human being with a heart ... would do the same."

After the couple returned to Los Angeles and Barker was hospitalized...

"I came across numerous romantic emails with MANY other woman - some famous, some I personally knew - all heart breaking... It was a painful time that no one, unless they had lived it, has the right to judge. Any actions I may or may have not done after this time mean nothing."

(Translation: I totally banged Butler.)

Overall, Moakler writes she has  "tried to always put the lives and thoughts and feelings of my children first. I am by no means an angel, and I have made many mistakes, but a woman can only turn her cheek so many times."

Moakler added that the entire ordeal is "sad and I wish it had been left behind closed doors. I am a human being and the bashing has taken its toll. Hope you're all happy."

In a story less shocking than the inevitable reveal that Britney Spears is NOT dating Chase Benz, Travis Barker and Shanna Moakler have broken up.

Again.

The couple - who divorced in 2004, got back together a few times, broke up some more and then reconciled in September after Barker's near-fatal plane crash - are apart again "after a nasty fight broke out at his house last night and cops were called...[when] Shanna started freaking out and acting irrational," a source told Us Weekly.

No charges were filed.

Reportedly, Barker confronted Moakler about her rumored affair with Gerard Butler, which supposedly took place when he was in the hospital recovering from the aforementioned accident.

Whether or not that story is valid, insiders say Travis "just wants to focus on his music and his children."

Until next week, that is.

Shanna Moakler and Travis Barker are ready to walk down the aisle. Again.

A year after their divorce was finalized, the former beauty queen and Playboy model says she and Barker have found love once more.

“We would like to renew our vows and have another wedding,” Moakler said. “It’s not so much about the wedding, but about having a celebration of each other and getting through all the crazy things we’ve been through.”

Shanna Moakler cannot resist the scrawny, tattooed body of Travis Barker.

In September 2008, Barker and DJ AM survived a plane crash that left four dead. Shanna was rushed to her man's side at the hospital and the pair has been lovey dovey ever since.

“When you almost lose a loved one, it makes you appreciate things you took for granted,” Moakler said.

A couple weeks after being involved in a tragic plane crash, Travis Barker blogged that ex-wife Shanna Moakler has scarcely been by his hospital bedside.

“Despite any rumors you might have heard via my EX-wife Shanna Moakler, who I have not seen since the week I checked in, I’ve been treated amazingly well, both here in LA and an Georgia..." Barker wrote.

Now, the reasons for Moakler's absence may have been made clear: she's totally hooking up with 300 star Gerard Butler!

The pair were photographed looking quite cozy at the Hollywood opening of Shin nightclub last night. According to another patron, Butler reportedly confided in him: "I have no idea what the f--k I'm doing."

Weird. But approximately the reaction we'd have if our tongues ever touched Moakler's.

Shanna Moakler won't leave Kim Kardashian alone.

Despite a lack of proof - outside the fact that Kim was spotted wearing a shirt from Travis Barker's Famous Stars and Straps fashion line - Moakler is convinced that Kardashian slept with her ex-husband.

As part of her denial, the large-breasted reality TV star said Barker isn't dark enough for her, as Kim's past of dating Nick Cannon, Ray J and now Reggie Bush does prove she has a certain type. Moakler didn't accept this as an excuse, however.

"Come on Kim, let the truth be told! You have dated numerous white guys. Your quote saying that you are not into white guys is a sham -- not a SHIM [a she and a him] like you," Shanna said to The Dirty.

"How about you just be honest Kim and say, "Shanna, I'm sorry for f'n with your man!" It's that simple... then you can deal with the aftermath from Reggie, you know -- your man that you cheated on!"

These are bold accusations from Shanna Moakler. Can she back them up with anything aside from wild claims that she actually read emails detailing an affair between Kardashian and Barker? Until she does, two facts are on Kim's side:

1. Who the heck would sleep with Travis Barker?!?
2. Kim really does like black guys.

Following a spat at a Carmen Electra-hosted barbecue over the weekend, both Shanna Moakler and Kim Kardashian have issued statements.

Impressively - or disgracefully, depending on how you look at it - Moakler makes Kardashian look mature and grounded. First, a brief summary on the dispute:

Kim served as a model for Travis Barker's Famous Stars and Straps clothing line and was recently spotted out in a shirt from it. As a result of this gig - and, according to Moakler, a series of emails she was forwarded - Shanna thinks Kardashian was making a move on her married man. Got it?

This convoluted controversy set the stage for the aformentioned party, which saw Moakler throw a drink on Kardashian. As she relayed to The Dirty, Shanna was appalled that Kim was present, telling Reggie Bush that his girlfriend was a "whore" and adding:

"I seriously don’t understand, can someone explain to me why these men defend these girls who literally have a different tongue in them every night?! If your woman wants to f*ck married men and ruin families, you better expect a pissed of ex-wife is going to come out! It floors me when they’re so shocked and awed by this!"

Moakler also said Kardashian was fat and compared her to a donkey.

Shanna Moakler believe in Laura Boyce.

The second nanny accusing Rob Lowe and Sheryl Lowe of sexual harassment also happens to babysit for the reality TV star and former Miss USA.

"I've been friends with Laura for the past ten years â€" before she was my nanny â€" and I completely stand by her," Moakler told People.

Boyce, who worked for the the actor and his wife for seven months in 2007, claims that Sheryl created an "extremely sexually offensive and hostile work environment...behaving in a... perverted, disgusting and crude manner."

At a press conference Thursday (shown above), Boyce's attorney Gloria Allred argued that Rob Lowe, as an employer, was equally liable for any alleged sexual harassment that occurred on the job.
