America's Best Dance Crew and So You Think You Can Dance judge Shane Sparks was in front of a different kind of judge yesterday. It didn't end well.

Sparks pleaded no contest to a felony count of having unlawful sex with a minor under 16. He faced eight felonies in connection with alleged sex acts.

Under a plea deal approved by Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Martin Herscovitz, the other felony counts were all dismissed given the plea.

Sparks agreed to plead no contest to the single felony. He will serve 270 days in jail sometime over the next year and receive five years' probation.

Sparks, who was arrested for child molestation in late 2009, also must attend sex offender counseling and not go near female minors sans an adult.

Los Angeles police investigators said the choreographer committed multiple lewd acts upon a child, who was under 14 at the time, starting in 1994.

So You Think You Can Dance and America's Best Dance Crew judge Shane Sparks officially entered a not guilty plea to eight counts of child molestation today.

He was arrested back in mid-December for allegedly performing several lewd acts on an then-underage female over a span of several years, beginning in 1994.

A decade and a half later, Shane Sparks faces child molestation claims? It sounds suspect, to say the very least. His accuser has not yet been publicly named.

Sparks is due back in court on April 20. His lawyer has called the case a "Hollywood style extortion" attempt and says his client will be completely vindicated.

Shane Sparks is out of jail.

The award-winning choreographer posted bail last night, and his attorney quickly responded to charges that his client is guilty of child molestation, stemming from a decade-old incident.

Steve Meister says Sparks will fight against what he refers to as "extortion, Hollywood style."

As a refresher: Sparks has served as a judge on America's Best Dance Crew. He was arrested on Friday and charged with eight counts of child molestation.

However, Meister told TMZ the whole arrest "stinks to high heaven" because his client's accuser waited 15 years before she came forward. He claims she's just interested in Sparks' fame/fortune.

Meister says the charges "are completely without merit" and the dancer "knows he is innocent and will fight to clear his name." We'll keep readers apprised of this case as it moves forward.

So Shane Sparks thinks he can allegedly molest children and get away with it?

The Emmy-nominated So You Think You Can Dance choreographer was arrested and charged with eight counts of felony child molestation earlier today.

Shane Sparks was busted at approximately 8 a.m. at his N. Hollywood residence and taken to Van Nuys jail, where he is being held on $590,000 bail.

"Sparks has been the subject of an ongoing child-molestation investigation," LAPD spokesman Bruce Borihanh confirmed this afternoon to E! News.

Jane Robison, a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office, reports that a criminal complaint was filed by Sparks' alleged victim.

The victim's name is being withheld as she was a minor at the time.

Sounds like you are not the man, Shane Sparks.

"There's one victim. It occurred in the '90s. I believe it started in '94 and went on for several years," Robison said. "She was an underage girl. She was under 15 when the alleged crimes occurred. She is an adult now and came forward to authorities."

Sparks' rep was not available for comment.

Before So You Think You Can Dance, Shane was best known for choreographing the movie You Got Served. He is also a judge on MTV's America's Best Dance Crew.

He is the second choreographer affiliated with SYTYCD to be charged with sex crimes in recent months, following the arrest of Alex Da Silva for rape in August.

Maybe in a few months, they can work on some sweet orange-jumpsuit, jailhouse rock-themed routines with their fellow inmates. Sorry, that was a low blow.
