Juan Pablo Galavis could learn a few things about being The Bachelor from his predecessor Sean Lowe, who, as nice as he is, took him to task this week.

Lowe, who married his final rose recipient Catherine Giudici, started out by defending Galavis' decision not to propose to Nikki Ferrell on the season finale.

"My take on last night: I commend JP on not proposing if he isn't ready. And he certainly shouldn't feel pressured to say 'I love you,'" the reality star wrote.

However ...

Sean Lowe, who was in the audience for the awkward After the Final Rose special, says Galavis should have at least tried to articulate his feelings.

"As the Bachelor, you can't say I want to keep my feelings private," he explained. "You owe it to the fans and network to open up. That's the job."

Then, responding to a fan who argued in Juan Pablo's defense that "not everyone is cut out for public attention," he wrote, "Then don't be the Bachelor."

Lowe also discussed the exchange between Chris Harrison and Juan Pablo, coming down squarely on the side of the former for just doing his job.

Sean Lowe's stint on The Bachelor clearly worked out for the best, but it's also not what he is all about, the newly-married star says in a new video.

Featured in a 12-minute short film for the Christian nonprofit I Am Second, Lowe says he worried that he was going against his faith by dating 25 women at once.

He started as a contestant on Emily Maynard's season of The Bachelorette; His sister, Shay, applied on his behalf; he himself was resistant to the idea.

"Never in a million years did I think I would do a cheesy reality TV show about love," the Texan says, noting that it definitely changed for him, and soon.

"After about four or five weeks of getting to spend time with the Bachelorette, I thought, 'I kind of like being around her,'" he recalls of falling for Emily Maynard.

"'Wow, I'm actually developing feelings for this girl when there are all these cameras around. This is kinda nuts. I can see myself being her husband.'"

Sean Lowe and Catherine Giudici tied the knot Sunday night, and shortly thereafter, were grilled about whether they really waited until then to have sex.

Not just grilled, but put to the ultimate test - a polygraph test - by Jimmy Kimmel.

Seriously. The couple took a lie detector test ahead of their live ABC wedding on Sunday night, and the talk show announced the results on Monday’s show.

So, did they really abstain from sex for their entire 16-month relationship, from their engagement on The Bachelor until they tied the knot last weekend?

Find out in the funny clip from Kimmel's show below ...

Gotta give Sean Lowe and Catherine Giudici credit for talking the talk and walking the walk, although we'd have to imagine they're glad it's finally over.

After seeing her lingerie photo that she posted as a preview of that special experience, we'd also imagine Sean's debut likely wasn't too drawn out.

Such is the life of the born-again virgin newlywed!

After getting engaged on The Bachelor Season 17, Sean Lowe and Catherine Giudici are married! The two tied the knot in a special ABC TV wedding Sunday.

Going up against a Lorde Grammy performance and countless other moments from the music bonanza didn't help the ratings, but it's official just the same.

Also official? Sean losing his born-again virginity.

Catherine made it quite clear that wedding night sex was on the agenda when she Instagrammed this TMI pic of the just-married "Mrs. Lowe" in sexy lingerie:

Last week, Sean Lowe had quite a great time shopping for lingerie for Catherine, buying teddies, panties, etc. In return, she documented this for him.

During their live wedding special, a pre-taped segment showed her getting together with one of her friends to get advice on how to pose for the photo.

Clearly, this cute couple leaves little to the imagination.

Why take this photo for her man? Giudici explained, “I want him to see me as a woman after the wedding. Which, of course, he will naturally after the wedding.”

Why share it publicly on the Internet? A little less clear.

Grammy Awards, schmammy awards. Reality TV lovebirds Sean Lowe and Catherine Giudici were married in a live Bachelor TV wedding event Sunday night!

His dad Jay officiated the ceremony and called the romance of the duo, who got engaged in late 2012, "an epic fairytale on display for the whole world to see."

Sean Lowe, 30, watched Giudici, 27, walk down the aisle in a Monique Lhuillier gown. Soon enough, the beautiful bride was tearing up as she read her vows.

"The first time that I saw you, you were like a light to my bug. I had to find you. You mesmerize me with how brightly you shine," Catherine told him at the altar.

"Sometimes I feel like I'm going to explode by how much I love you ... I'm completely consumed by you ... I promise to love you after my heart bursts."

"You are my dream and my reality."

"From the moment I met you I wanted more. You had me hooked from the beginning and I didn't want to let you go," Sean Lowe then told Catherine Giudici.

Last year's winners of The Bachelor, Sean Lowe and Catherine Giudici, are getting married LIVE on ABC this weekend. Then comes the really exciting part.

Sean and Catherine spoke with Mario Lopez of Extra Thursday and said they are ready for their big day, which airs live on Sunday, and what comes later.

The effervescent Catherine Guidici smiled, “We feel good. We're ready.”

Sean Lowe added, “Excited… anxious, ready for the day to get here.”

The Bachelor duo has been open about their decision to abstain from sex until marriage, so Mario asked, “So are you concerned about any performance anxiety?”

Lowe, who's had sex, but is a "born-again virgin," joked, “The first time… who knows how long it's going to happen but, give me 15 minutes, I'll give it another shot.”

Catherine said she is not nervous about it. “He’s a gentleman.”

Jimmy Kimmel also interviewed the two last night, and wasn't buying the whole abstinence act. He grilled them about it, as you can see in these two clips.

Dreams do come true. At least 10-20 percent of the time.

Fans know that a final rose does not guarantee a lifetime of happiness, but The Bachelor has produced some couples that have stood the test of time. At least lately.

And with Juan Pablo Galavis' season in full swing, ABC caught us up on some of its recent success stories as part of its "Juan-uary" series of Sunday specials.

Sean Lowe and Catherine Giudici are set to tie the knot next weekend. They were one of the duos featured on The Bachelor: Bachelor Love Stories last night.

The others:

Ashley Hebert and JP Rosenbaum
Ashley Hebert and JP Rosenbaum are married. He won her heart on The Bachelorette.

  • Trista Rehn married fireman Ryan Sutter in a ceremony that was televised in 2003. Still the gold standard for the show, over a decade later.
  • Desiree Hartsock and Chris Siegfried. The most recent Bachelorette picked Chris at the end of Season 9 last year. They're still engaged.
  • Ashley Hebert and J.P. Rosenbaum. After she chose J.P. on The Bachelorette Season 7 finale, Ashley married J.P. in December 2012.
  • Molly and Jason Mesnick. Jason was engaged to Melissa Rycroft, but dumped her for runner-up (and now-wife) Molly on the After the Final Rose special. Close enough.

Will Juan Pablo end up in the success or failure column? The Bachelor spoilers shed some light on that if you're interested ... but the odds are not good.

That's like five success stories in like 27 seasons. Just saying.
