One of the nation's foremost celebrity news and gossip magazines, Us Weekly, is under siege over its current cover story, which features Republican V.P. candidate Sarah Palin and the headline "Babies, Lies & Scandal."

The weekly celeb gossip tabloid, which recently ran a cover story on Barack Obama and "why he loves" his wife Michelle, is being furiously attacked by supporters of Sarah Palin, who've posted thousands of negative comments.

Not the usual "leave Britney Spears alone!!" comebacks either.

Readers are seriously pissed at the magazine fawning over Obama and then trashing Palin. Many also say that these are family matters which have no bearing on her ability to be Vice President and should be ignored altogether.

SIDE NOTE: OK! seems to do a better job of balancing coverage with its dueling covers this week, both of which promote generally positive stories.

As Palin prepares for the biggest speech of her life tonight, debate over mainstream media (and celeb gossip) coverage of her has reached a fever pitch.

... on alternate covers of the same celebrity news magazine, that is! OK! is offering an exclusive look into two of the nation's rising political stars, and doing so with dueling magazine covers for the first time ever.

One cover story focuses on the everyday life of Democratic Party nominee Sen. Barack Obama, wife Michelle Obama and daughters Malia and Sasha.

The other cover is dedicated to Republican Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin, the 44-year-old Alaska governor who shocked the world Friday when she was announced as Senator John McCain's running mate in the 2008 election.

Palin has since revealed a few more surprises, such as the pregnancy and impending marriage of her 17-year-old daughter, Bristol Palin.

  • Barack Obama and Michelle Obama

Political views aside, both groundbreaking candidates are amazing stories and have already made history while providing great entertainment. We thank them!

BUT WHOSE COVER DO YOU LIKE BETTER?
