It is apparently being reported - thankfully by no one reputable - that Sarah Jessica Parker is keen to cast Britney Spears in the Sex and The City movie sequel.

The actress for some reason thinks the "Womanizer" singer would be perfect in the eagerly anticipated sequel to last year’s hit film, says Heat magazine.

Britney Spears, who appeared on CBS' stunt casting-crazed How I Met Your Mother last year, would play a young relative of SJP’s character, Carrie Bradshaw.

Sarah Jessica Parker told friends: “My idea is to have someone like Britney Spears move to New York as my cousin or niece and Carrie would show her the ropes.”

For Sarah Jessica Parker, putting Britney Spears in the upcoming Sex and the City movie sequel would be a worse idea than putting on that hat.

This wouldn’t be the first time Britney Spears has been on the big screen. The 27-year-old singer appeared in the chick flick Crossroads seven years ago.

Written by Grey's Anatomy creator Shonda Rhimes (who probably hopes no one ever mentions that again), Crossroads was one of the worst movies of all time, with an average rating of 2.8/10 in 18,206 votes cast on IMDB. Just saying.

Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon are all expected to to join Sarah Jessica in the SATC sequel, which we're guessing Britney won't be in. But if this somehow turns out to be true, we suggest she appear in one or more of these outfits:

Sarah Jessica Parker has removed her trademark chin mole.

The decison to ditch the well-known mark may have been a reaction from the actress, following criticism from The New York Observer's Rex Reed that the mole stood out on the big screen in Sex and the City: The Movie.

"There's nothing wrong with Sarah Jessica Parker, that couldn't be cured by wart-removal surgery. That growth on her face just gets bigger with every close-up.." Reed wrote.

"Well, his mother kept chickens and geese, so he loves feathers and manipulating feathers," Treacy's spokeswoman Nina Farnell-Watson said.

Reportedly, Parker tried on some different hat shapes and "found the one she loved," said Farnell-Watson. Treacy then worked for two days straight and "very late into the night" trimming it with peacock feathers. Naturally.

Farnell-Watson admits that it was "quite brave" of Parker to don the accessory, adding that "the hat is such a quintessentially English idea, but it was done in such a Carrie Bradshaw way."

Rumor has it that Parker gets to keep all her clothes and shoes from the Sex and the City set. Based on the photo below, though, is that really a good thing?

Personally, we don't really care about this movie. Don't get us wrong, we laugh at the occasional Sex and the City quotes that our interns pull out of nowhere. We just don't see the appeal of the big screen adaptation. But that's just us.

We'd rather see Sex, Drugs and the Damaged Kids: The Britney Spears Story.

Three years after Sex and the City went off the air (to the dismay of our celebrity gossip staff writers) fans aren't the only ones hankering for a big-screen adaptions of the hit HBO series.

Former cast members are reportedly telling Us Weekly that they can't wait to get back on set.

"I'm hoping that we'll be hitting the street soon in our high heels!" Kim Cattrall said.

Seconds comedian Mario Cantone, "I hope it all goes smoothly and it gets done, because I want to do it very badly."

"I think it's going to happen," Cynthia Nixon says of plans for a feature film. 

But details on the flick (which sources say is still only "in development" three years after news of a movie adaptation of the Sarah Jessica Parker-driven series first surfaced) seem to be even more closely guarded than pictures of Jayden James.

For his part, Jason Lewis tells Us he is trying to be patient: "We'll just have to wait and see."

Is it almost time to start pouring the Cosmos? Will we soon get a chance to see Kristin Davis again on the big screen? We can only hope.

We can also hope that someone decides to make a Dancing with the Stars movie. Now that would be flat-out riveting.
