Sammy Sosa

Bio

Sammy Sosa was a former Major League Baseball standout and likely steroid user who hit massive amounts of drug-aided homers in the late 1990s.

Sosa's career began with the Texas Rangers in 1989, where George W. Bush traded him to the White Sox.

Sosa became a member of the Chicago Cubs in 1992 and excelled there for more than a decade.

Although a fan favorite, Sosa fell out of favor in Chicago after he was caught using a corked bat in a 2003 game, leaving the team during the final game of the 2004 season, and likely using steroids, which he lied about to Congress like a true class act.

Sammy Sosa is also the all-time home run leader and likely steroid user among foreign-born MLB players.
