Russell Brand is doing well, thank you.

Returning to his roots - bachelorhood, plus standup comedy - is the ideal way to move on from his marriage to Katy Perry, which ended this winter after 14 months.

To hear Russell tell it, he has no reason not to be well.

Waxing philosophical about life, he says, "You don't need to brush it off if you don’t get it on you in the first place," he says, not specifically defining what "it" is.

In Good Spirits

The 36-year-old sounds downright zen in adding, "I don't have to let anything go. I don't hold on to anything negative. It's the same as zero-ness."

Asked if that's part of his yoga philosophy, Brand notes. "It's not about letting it go," he says. "You can't let go of something you don't hold, you know. It's meaningless, [and] much of our world is predicated on meaninglessness. And I just don't do that anymore."

As for his upcoming late-night show, which is due later this year on FX?

Russell Brand is in hot water over his recent iPhone flinging.

New Orleans police issued a misdemeanor arrest warrant for Brand in connection with the zany British funnyman's run-in with a photographer earlier this week.

Russell turned himself in Thursday and is in police custody.

Brand has been accused of grabbing a photographer's phone on Monday and throwing it through the nearby window of a law firm in downtown New Orleans.

Russell Brand = Jesus?

Brand, in town filming a movie, hasn't denied that he grabbed and hurled the phone. In fact, he Tweeted "Since Steve Jobs died I cannot bear to see anyone use an iPhone irreverently, what I did was a tribute to his memory."

Brand has reportedly offered to pay for the broken window at the law firm, but the "victim," celebrity gossip photographer Timothy Jackson, filed a police report.

Jackson had been posted up along with several others to take pics of the 36-year-old, who is in NoLa shooting Oscar-winning swriter Diablo Cody's new film.

Last month, Chris Brown was accused of "robbery by sudden snatching" after Christal Spann claimed he reached out his car window, grabbed her phone and peaced.

Though a report was filed in that incident, no warrant was issued.

Russell Brand has Tweeted a hilarious confession to recent allegations that he ganked some paparazzi dude's iPhone and hucked it through a window.

The zany British comedian is accused of ripping an iPhone right out of the hands of a paparazzo in New Orleans and firing it toward a local law firm.

Police are investigating, but Russell Tweeted the following mea culpa:

Wonder if that would hold up in court. Genius, in any case ... but THG does not condone window assaults via iPhone every time you see one misused.

Unlike Chris Brown, who's also being investigated for stealing an iPhone, Brand has since offered to pay for the device, as well as the window he broke.

Russell Brand recently broke up with Katy Perry.

And, according to an irate paparazzo, a window.

A Splash News photographer, Timothy Jackson, filed a police report against Brand, who allegedly approached Jackson's car, wrestled away his iPhone and heaved it through a window of nearby law firm, shattering the glass.

That's some arm, if true!

Splash has a series of photos showing Russell snatching the iPhone and the apparent aftermath of broken glass at the offices of Deutsch, Kerrigan and Stiles.

New Orleans Police are still investigating, but no charges have been filed and there's no warrant out for Brand. Heck, the NOPD is still trying to ring him up.

"We have had several attempts to get in contact with Russell Brand in the past day, all of which were unsuccessful," a department spokesman tells E! News.

Maybe Russell disposed of his own phone through similar means?

Despite some lyrics that make clear reference to a relationship falling apart and love gone wrong, Katy Perry insists "Part of Me" isn't about Russell Brand.

"I wrote it two years ago, which is funny because everybody is like 'God, it sounds so current,'" the pop star, 27, told MTV News about her latest single.

The song is full of jabs - "You can keep the diamond ring/It don't mean nothing anyway" etc. - leading many to conclude that it was a dig at Russell.

Not the case, says Perry, whose split with Brand remains amicable.

Katy and Russell wed in October 2010 and split in December 2011.

"Some people that I work with were like, 'Just say you wrote it a couple of weeks ago,'" she says. "I'm like, 'I'm not a d---, I'm going to tell the truth.'"

"I wrote it two years ago when I was writing and recording Teenage Dream, [but] it didn't feel right on the record. It's not about [Russell Brand]."

Still, Perry admits that the timing is eerie in a sense.

"Sometimes I'm like, 'Am I living in The Truman Show?' It just feels like sometimes I'm caught in this movie where my life is paralleling my music!"

"It seems very serendipitous, but, as un-fun as it sounds, I prepare everything. I'm overly prepared and kind of a control freak in the best of ways."

It's been just two months since Katy Perry and Russell Brand split, but rumor has it he's moved on already - with 25-year-old model and artist Oriela Medellin Amieiro.

"It was about 9:30 in the morning, and I saw them getting into a Range Rover," a witness dished to Life & Style, which made Katy's heartbreak its new cover story.

"She had obviously stayed over at his house because she was in evening clothes and high heels. She threw her head back and laughed - she was having a good time."

Not having a good time these days? KP.

Katy Perry: Stabbed in the Heart!

Katy Perry now wonders, according to a "lifelong pal," whether Russell really was the "changed man" he claimed to be when they married in October 2010.

"I'm such a fool," Katy recently confessed, allegedly. "I believed in him."

Sources say that Russell Brand has been "on a tear" recently, partying, clubbing, coming on to women all over LA, a harem of babes that apparently includes, but is not limited to, the Mexican-born Oriela Medellin Amieiro.

Their divorce is amicable and we don't normally like to read into things like this, but Katy Perry's new song, "Part of Me," sure sounds like a dig at Russell Brand.

The newly Katy started off her 2012 Grammy Awards performance singing her hit "E.T.", but then the music suddenly stopped and she burst into "Part of Me."

Aggressively, she sang lyrics like:

“You chewed me up and spit me out / Like I was poison in your mouth / You took my light, you drained me down / You ripped me off, your love was cheap.”

Easy to interpret it as bitterness toward Brand, no? Watch Perry perform in a ridiculously tight, form fitting rubber cat suit of sorts with her blue hair below:

Perhaps the strongest indication that this was aimed at Russell? The original song lyrics include, “You can keep the dog from me, I never liked him anyway.”

But last night, Perry sang: “Keep your diamond ring, in fact, you can keep everything – except for me.” Ouch. That's got to hurt, R ... amicable split or not.

Looks like Katy Perry and Russell Brand are a united front in their split.

The parties have "entered into a comprehensive written settlement of all issues, including, without limitation, with respect to property to be confirmed/assigned to each party," it proclaims in big block letters on Perry's response to Brand's divorce filing.

Considering the duo had no children, "issues" largely refers to money and their $6.5 million house in the Hollywood Hills. But even that's not contentious.

Katy Perry, Russell Brand Image

Perry also asked that any obligation to pay Brand spousal support be terminated, a key request considering, under California law, Brand was entitled to half of what his much higher-earning spouse made throughout their 14-month marriage.

Russell's not interested in her money, however.

It appears the couple, who have seemingly had nothing to do with each other since acknowledging their breakup, managed to cut an amicable post-nuptial deal.

The doc also includes a check next to the box: "Respondent's former name be restored to." It goes on to specify her full name, Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson.

And that was all she wrote.

Russell Brand is entitled to approximately $20 million of his wife Katy Perry's fortune, but has elected not to make the legal case for it, according to reports.

Russell and Katy did NOT have a prenuptial agreement, and as a result, everything they earned during their 14-month marriage is community property.

In other words, they're each entitled to 50 percent of the aggregate, and the pop superstar made an estimated $44 million in the last year alone.

Perry, Brand

Russell could score a fortune if he exercised his community property rights ... but that's not his intention. Instead, he feels she should have what's hers.

As one source put it, "This divorce is as amicable as it gets, and Russell was a mensch (Yiddish for a good person). He doesn't want Katy's money."

"He wishes her nothing but the best and he's more than happy to walk away with the money he earned, which is far less than what Katy made."

His lawyer filed final divorce papers Tuesday, although the judge can't make the divorce official until June 30, as there's a six-month waiting period.

There have been so many shocking celebrity divorces lately, even by Hollywood standards. Not just breakups, but actual marriages crumbling before our eyes.Seal, Heidi Klum

Some did surprise us more than others, but we can honestly say we didn't see any of these divorce filings - all from the last 12 months alone! - coming at all.

Which of these splits shocked you the most? Vote in our poll below ...

  • Kris, Kim Photo
  • Leah and Corey Split!
  • Michaele and Tareq Salahi Picture

10. Zooey Deschanel and Ben Gibbard. The New Girl star and the Death Cab For Cutie member certainly seemed like a perfect match. Apparently not.

9. Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries. Okay, not all that surprising for myriad reasons we have been over ad nauseam on THG. But 72 days?! Idiots.

8. Tareq and Michaele Salahi. Like Kim and Kris, nothing about these two truly shocks us. Except her running off with Journey guitarist Neal Schon.

7. Leah Messer and Corey Simms. The stars of Teen Mom 2 seem so happy ... on the episodes that are still airing now! Well, not last night's. Still!

6. Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore. Seemed an odd fit at the start, but their split came totally out of left field. Now she's taking nitrous hits. Nitrous.

  • Seal and Heidi Klum Photo
  • Ashton and Demi Picture
  • Maria Shriver, Arnold Schwarzenegger

5. Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony. Apparently not the marrying type.

4. Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz. Remember them? We forgot too.

3. Katy Perry and Russell Brand. They're polar opposites, but were so crazy about each other and we thought it was just crazy enough to last forever.

2. Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver. The heiress to the Kennedy political dynasty and the Governator seemed as rock solid as they come.

1. Heidi Klum and Seal. Still fresh, but as stunning as any other celeb divorce we can remember based on the couple's perpetual displays of love.

Which celebrity divorce filing shocked you most?
