What does a TV show do when it's been off the air for three months and needs to capture the attention of viewers?

Easy: time for some girl-on-girl action!

As teased previously, Rumer Willis' Gia and Jessica Lowndes' Adrianna will explore a relationship when 90210 returns with new episodes next week. The former is already out as a lesbian, but why does the latter - who has been known to sleep with (a lot!) of men - experiment with the same sex?

Because she runs into Gia at an AA meeting. D'uh! How can that not lead to the following make-out scene?!?

Explaining the storyline to People, Lowndes said:

“Adrianna and Gia share a special bond. My character starts questioning whether or not sexuality is measured on a spectrum, if it’s black and white or if it comes down to who you connect with and who you are compatible with. I’m excited as an actress to tell the story.”

When we were 12, and had huge crushes on Shannen Doherty and Jennie Garth, this storyline would have been awesome.

Now, we're (a tiny bit) more mature and simply roll our eyes at the planned lesbian storyline coming to 90210.

Indeed, show producer Rebecca Sinclair confirms that Rumer Willis' lesbian character of Gia will get a girlfriend in early 2010... in the form of previously straight Adrianna!

In the past, the strategy of turning a series regular gay for a few episodes was a clear publicity stunt, as fans of The OC and Mischa Barton likely recall.

But the ratings for 90210 have surged this season. Says Sinclair of the plot:

“This isn’t a fling. We’re coming at this [relationship] from a genuine place and not going, ‘Let’s do a titillating story that will grab some promotion.’ This is a real aspect of teenager life that’s interesting... And there’s been a real void in the 90210 universe in terms of gay and bisexual characters.”

That will actually start to change this Tuesday night when Samantha Ronson guest stars.

Shenae Grimes is rarely excited for a full meal.

But the incredibly thin actress told People over the weekend that she can't wait for season two of 90210; specifically, she's psyched for a certain guest star to appear.

“Rumer Willis is joining us for a little while. I’m not sure for how long, but we are very excited,” Grimes said, adding that her character might start the fall season as an outcast:

“That’s kind of a big twist this year. I’ll start out on a different foot then I did last year. I’m not part of the gang for a little while and you’ll see why."

Willis, meanwhile, has been booked as Gia, a lesbian student at West Beverly. 90210 star AnnaLynne McCord wants to make out with her on screen.

Is Rumer Willis' guest-starring stint on 90210 a desperate attempt to garner ratings for this CW drama?

Perhaps.

But it's also a chance for some hot girl-on-girl action, according to star AnnaLynne McCord!

Because Willis is coming aboard 90210 as a lesbian character named Gia, the actress that portrays wild gal Naomi Clark has a storyline she (and every warm-blooded American male) would like to see go down:

"Naomi gets drunk, and she gets a little crazy," McCord told E! News. "Liam's watching. Naomi wants to experiment. And then a little lip-on-lip action with Rumer Willis can't hurt anybody, right? How fabulous would that be. They totally need to make it happen!"

It might not have worked on The OC, or any other show, but AnnaLynne McCord thinks some lesbian experimentation is perfect for 90210.

The daughter of Bruce and Demi will portray a pregnant teenager on an August episode of The Secret Life of the American Teenager.

Meanwhile, we've just received word that she'll go in the opposite direction on an installment of 90210 this fall: Rumer will take on the role of Gia, a "punky, cute lesbian," according to Access Hollywood, which first broke the story.

The character will work alongisde Navid, Adrianna and Silver at West Beverly's student-run newspaper. Somewhere, Andrea Zuckerman is smiling.

Earlier this week, The CW announced that Hilary Duff would be appearing on Gossip Girl.

Which guest star are you more excited about?

Jennifer Love Hewitt has opened up about her break-up with with former fiance Ross McCall.

"Breakups are awful. They're really painful," the gorgeous actress said. "They really hurt. They really suck on lots of levels, but what I think is great about life is that the universe always brings you something really beautiful and great afterward - and that's kind of where I am now."

Hewitt is referring to her vomitous relationship with Jamie Kennedy.

Who looks better in it?

The trailer for Sorority Row - a remake of the '80s horror film - has just been released online and, well ... it stars Audrina Patridge and Rumer Willis.

Does it even have to be explained further?

With Carrie Fisher's stamp of approval - she plays the house mother - the sorority girls plot to avenge a fellow sister's (Audrina) untimely demise.

Or is she really dead? By the looks of it, The Hills star may actually be the one bumping off her sisters in retaliation for causing her "death."

It's a good thing Audzo is shopping her own reality show for when The Hills likely ends after its upcoming season. Her acting? Not the best.

Rumer Willis has gone public with her new boyfriend Micah Alberti (who we thought initially was Michael Alberti) at the premiere of her latest film.

He was Willis' date to the Los Angeles screening of the comedy The House Bunny, in which she plays a misfit university sorority girl.

The couple were first spotted together at LAX airport last week.

But who is this mysterious Micah Alberti fellow, exactly?

He is best known for his former role of James Martin on All My Children. He has also appeared on Smallville, CSI: Miami and other shows.

Micah Alberti is 24 and hails from the oddly-named town of Oregon, Wisconsin.

Here's hoping we see much more of this handsome fella going forward.
