Prince George, a.k.a. the Royal Baby, a.k.a. HRH Prince George Alexander Louis of Cambridge, is about to turn one. And what a year it has been!

This future heir, possessed of "a voice to match any lion’s roar," according to his dad, Prince William, is not the type to sit quietly and rest on his laurels.

He's the kind of baby who pops balloons, has no fear of strangers or animals, and goes HARD at play dates, holding court and running the show.

His current hobbies of choice? These days, says his mom, Duchess Kate Middleton, "he's most interested in helicopters and anything with wheels."

It's only fitting for a little guy who's always on the go.

As he comes upon his first birthday July 22, the young boy who will be king has already notched several milestones: smiles, belly rolls, babbles and steps.

Check out the video above for a look at some of George's first year's most memorable moments, and scroll through his life in pictures after the jump!

It looks as if Prince William and his wife, Kate Middleton, are like any other proud parents who like sharing photos of their baby, young Prince George.

The royal couple released another sweet portrait of themselves with the three-month-old royal baby on Saturday, and it's worth a thousand words.

Sure, this is the future King of England, but any parents can relate to such a moment and the bond this new family shares ... and they're just so cute:

The 35-minute ceremony was attended by family members of Prince William and Kate Middleton, plus George's seven godparents and their spouses.

Prince George's christening took place today at St. James Palace in London, with parents Kate Middleton and Prince William beaming proudly from ear to ear.

As the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge pulled up in a dark blue sedan and made their way to the courtyard, a tiny cry could be heard from the guest of honor.

William held his baby boy, who was wearing the traditional lace-and-silk baptismal robe, first fashioned for Queen Victoria's son, the future King Edward VII, in 1841.

Kate Middleton wore a cream-colored skirt suit and matching fascinator by Alexander McQueen, whose creative director, Sarah Burton, also designed her wedding dress.

She also donned a matching hat by Jane Taylor and had her long hair brushed to the side for the special event, which was small by royal standards.

Kate Middleton and Prince William have named three godparents for their newborn baby Prince George, and their choices are a break from tradition.

Bypassing Prince Harry, Pippa Middleton, and the usual royal suspects, Will and Kate instead tapped three old friends from childhood and college:

  1. Fergus Boyd, a friend from the University of St. Andrews
  2. Emilia d’Erlanger, a long-term friend of Prince William who also has known Kate Middleton since their time at Marlborough College
  3. Hugh van Cutsem, one of his oldest childhood pals

No other members of the royal family have ever selected as godparents friends who didn't have royal ties. William and Kate: They're just like us!

The fuchsia Seraphine Maternity dress worn by Kate Middleton in the official Prince George photos released earlier this week sold out in under two hours.

Kate Middleton Maternity Dress

It turns out Kate Middleton fashion is as popular as Royal Baby photos, which isn't a huge surprise, as the Duchess has often had this effect on style.

At a modest $79, the short-sleeve Jolene dress is both accessible and appealing to moms, thanks to a flattering silhouette and gorgeous feminine color.

The pretty design accentuates the positive and discreetly minimizes Kate Middleton post-baby body flaws, all wrapped up in one fun little frock.

Prince William says his son Prince George is already a bit of a royal rascal, while the baby's mother, Kate Middleton, is doing a fantastic job of it.

William told CNN in his first interview since becoming a dad that posing for the first Royal Baby photos the day after George's birth felt oddly logical.

"I was on such a high anyway, and so was Catherine about George, that really we were happy to show him off to whoever wanted to see him," he gushed.

"As any new parent knows, you’re only too happy to show off your new child and, you know, proclaim that he is the best looking or the best everything."

England's newest royal proved to be on his best behavior then, William pointed out: "I'm just glad he wasn’t screaming his head off the whole way through!"

Prince William made his first public appearance since becoming a dad today, and gave us some amusing insight into the royal newborn Prince George.

No Royal Baby photos just yet ... but royal laughs aplenty.

At the Anglesey County Show on Wednesday, Will kept the crowd in stitches speaking a bit of Welsh and revealing some tidbits about his bundle of joy.

"My Welsh pronunciation is bad, but it is slowly getting better, I hope," he said at the fair-like event, where he interacted with animals and thanked locals.

"Catherine is sorry that she cannot be here today at the County Show," he said of wife Kate Middleton. "She and George would have loved to have been here."

"He's pretty loud but of course very good looking!"

After all of the hype that surrounded the birth of the Royal Baby last month, Prince George and his parents have been laying extremely low since.

There's no Kim Kardashian-Kanye West-esque conflict about that, either.

After welcoming their son July 22, the couple headed to her parents' home in Bucklebury, England, to live a quiet life while adjusting to parenthood.

The first royal order of business after the birth was simple: sleep. For all.

Then the basic routine: Wake up. Tend to George. Eat. Sleep. Repeat.

Prince George may be the future King of England, but Prince William and Kate Middleton strive to bring up a thoroughly modern - and happy - baby.

Among the many topics of speculation ever since Kate Middleton got pregnant was whether the Duchess of Cambridge would breastfeed the Royal Baby.

Well, the verdict is in and it's a yes: Kate is nursing Prince George Alexander Louis, although she has no interest in being a breastfeeding advocate.

While she wants to remain as private as possible, breastfeeding advocates will surely be thrilled that she has chosen to nurse baby George naturally.

After a shaky start, the Royal Baby has fully taken to it, too.

A senior royal source said: “It would be fair to say that Prince George has a healthy appetite. He is a very hungry little boy. There were some difficulties at first."

A tabloid is under scrutiny for a cover story about Kate Middleton's alleged post-baby weight loss regime ... released the same day she gave birth.

The UK version of OK! came out Monday with a photo of the new royal mom on the cover and the headline "Kate's Post-Baby Weight Loss Regime."

  • Kate Middleton Weight Loss
  • Kate Middleton Post-Baby Dress

Promoting an interview with someone described as her trainer, the story claims Kate Middleton is "super fit ... her stomach will shrink straight back."

Many people felt that the story was a little too soon (to say the least) and puts pressure on new moms to instantly lose the baby weight they put on.

The cover quickly sparked a Twitter backlash, including from TV and radio presenter Katy Hill, who tweeted a photo of her own post-baby body.
