A major uproar broke out this week after Interview Magazine published a picture of Kendall Jenner topless.

But let's be honest: this reality star wasn't the first famous female to ditch her shirt for a national magazine spread... or the second... or the third... or the fourth...

You get the idea.

Kendall is only 18, of course, yet plenty of celebrities have gone half-birthday suit style in order to leave their racy mark on readers.

Some might be obvious (hi, Miley Cyrus!), some might be surprising (really, Celine Dion?!?) and some might be cast members on The Real Housewives of Atlanta.

So sit back, try to control your drool and click through 43 steamy images of well-known women going topless in various publications:

Some celebrities worked their way up from humble beginnings to earn worldwide fame and seven-figure bank accounts.

Others were born with show business connections, but they still had to struggle and work hard to avoid flipping burgers to chip away at crippling student loan debt.

But there's another, slightly less common subset of celebrities - those born into such privilege they could've never worked a day in their lives and their posh lifestyles would still make us jealous.

Lady Gaga
Gaga grew up in Manhattan's posh Upper East Side. She is the daughter of a successful Internet entrepreneur.

Yes, these are the stars who lived the good life from day one, the celebs born with a silver spoon in their mouth and tailored Yves-Saint Laurent diapers on their tuchis.

Some may not surprise you (Gwyneth Paltrow didn't become that snooty overnight) while others you may not have known about (Rooney Mara's family owns two NFL teams?!)

But whether they flaunt their classy pasts or try to hide them, these stars all have one thing in common: they were richer than most folks in Hollywood before they learned to talk.

It's a clash of the stylish siblings from the 2012 Academy Awards red carpet.

If there was any Oscar nominee whom the world’s fashion aficionados were awaiting, and whom every Tweeter of the event had something to say, it was Rooney Mara.

The influence of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo star - her bangs, her steely gaze, her porcelain skin in stark contrast to her dark hair - is the talk of every red carpet.

Her older sister, Kate, Mara (American Horror Story, 127 Hours) went a different route, mixing soft pastels and flirty silhouettes in a floral-bead emblazoned Elie Saab gown.

Which of the sisters looked betters? Vote in this latest THG Fashion Face-Off!

Rooney Mara had a major reason to be happy last night, as the New York Giants - the team founded by her great grandfather, Tim - stunned the Packers in Green Bay and moved on to the NFC Championship Game.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo star also looked beautiful on the red carpet of the 2012 Golden Globe Awards, although, alas, her evening was not punctuated with a victory of her own.

But perhaps that can be salvaged. Below, we compare Mara's style at the event with that of another young nominee, Shailene Woodley of The Descendants and The Secret Life of the American Teenager. Compare fashion choices and cast your vote now!

The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo star Rooney Mara strikes an elegant pose on November cover of Vogue, wearing a Ralph Lauren gown with embroidery on the back.

Embroidery of a dragon, obviously.

The actress who won the coveted role of Lisbeth Salander says it was the perfect fit for her, and from the trailer we've seen and photos like this, it's hard to argue:

"I am very slow to warm. I've always been sort of a loner," Rooney Mara reveals. "I didn't play team sports. I am better one-on-one than in big groups."

"I can certainly understand wanting to be invisible and mistrusting people and wanting to understand everything before you engage with the world."

Even though Mara knows this is the role of a lifetime, she's not looking forward to being in the spotlight after it premieres, Kristen Stewart-style.

"That fame is not something I ever wanted for myself," the 26-year-old says.
