Jimmy Kimmel is having a very good week.

First, the comedian received a promotion from ABC; his talk show moves to 11:35 in January. Then, last night, he got to sit next to Robert Pattinson, simply sitting back and absorbing the actor's good looks and charm.

Was there talk about Kristen Stewart? Nope. Not a peep. Instead, in this first segment, the duo chatted about cars and then segued into "dogging," the British term for random gay sex. Really. Give it a look/listen...

The Expendables 2 blasted its way to the top of the box office this weekend, but Robert Pattinson also had a few thousand reasons to smile.

While the Sylvester Stallone-penned action flick earned nearly $30 million and easily out-garnered The Bourne Legacy for the number-one ranking, Pattinson's Cosmopolis - his first movie since news of the Kristen Stewart affair broke - grossed $72,000 at just three theaters.

That gave Cosmopolis the weekend's biggest per-screen average. So take that, D.B. Sweeney!

Sparkle - which featured Whitney Houston in her final big screen performance - landed in fifth place. But it sported the Top 10's best per-theater average after The Expendables 2.

Here is a look at that top 10 from Friday and Saturday:

D.B. Sweeney might have a (Twi)hard time making money at the box office going forward.

The actor got into it over Twitter with a number of young movie fans this week after he inserted himself into the ongoing Robert Pattinson/Kristen Stewart saga. Wrote Sweeney:

"Just saw Pattinson on #DailyShow trying to figure out what took k-stew so long to look around with this douche astride her. #holytwit."

As you might expect, Pattinson's followers quickly came to the star's defense.

"Don't talk sh--t about the greatness which is Rob when your credentials can't even match his," replied one, while another was even more direct in addressing Sweeney: "I hate you. Do not mess with Rob."

But Sweeney - who actually stars in K-11, which was directed by Stewart's mother, Jules - didn't back down. He Tweeted twice more:

"Hey #twilight genuises--try decaf! A little too worked up over a skinny vampire.... Nice language twi-hards. Or should i say tards? Love the inchoate indignation."

And we love your decision to pick on a fan base half your age, D.B., along with an actor whose heart was just broken.

Robert Pattinson has made a handful of public appearances this week, but he's mostly been mum on Kristen Stewart.

Last night, for instance, the actor spoke to MTV exclusively about his new movie, Cosmopolis.

But friends of Pattinson are reportedly doing all the talking necessary when it comes to his ex/estranged girlfriend, as Us Weekly claims pals are encouraging Robert to resist temptation.

Sienna Miller and Tom Sturridge, among others close to the handsome star, have been "begging Rob to end it for good," a Pattinson insider tells the tabloid. "They think she will hurt Rob again."

Some, of course, believe that Stewart is getting an unfair rap in this mess. Yes, she was wrong. But might she also have just made a single mistake and truly be in love with Robert?

Robert Pattinson sat down with Josh Horowitz of MTV last night, going into detail about the most pressing issue in his life these days.

His professional life, that is. The topic of Kristen Stewart and Rupert Sanders was never broached once.

Instead, Pattinson delved into various topics related to Cosmopolis, the David Cronenberg-directed drama in which the actor stars as billionaire Eric Parker.

Most of the movie takes place inside a limo, with Pattinson's character on the way to get a haircut. This, of course, led to the inevitable question: has Robert ever peed inside a car?

YES! "Well, not all over the car," he said. "In a bottle!"

It's official: Robert Pattinson is the anti-Kim Kardashian.

Sitting for his first live interview since the Kristen Stewart scandal broke, the actor told George Stephanopoulos of Good Morning America today that he remains private because "I've never been interested in trying to sell my personal life," adding:

"You get into [this business] to do movies. That's the only way to do it."

Will he ever adjust to the insanity that accompanies his every appearance and utterance? Pattinson hopes not.

"If you start getting used to [the attention], it means you're going crazy. It's nice. It's like being on the craziest theme park ride. It's exciting but eventually you have to have a break."

As he did in his sit-down with Jon Stewart, Robert refused to insult Stewart in any way. Her name never even came up. But the Twilight Saga star did have a message for his supporters.

First: "They seem pretty excited about kinda whatever. I live for them."

Second, in regard to his favorite cereal: "I'd like my fans to know that Cinnamon Toast Crunch only has 30 calories a bowl."
