Last week, CBS and the NFL nixed plans to use the song "Run This Town" for their broadcast intro for Thursday's Baltimore Ravens vs. Pittsburgh Steelers game.

Yesterday, Rihanna ripped into CBS on Twitter, accusing the network of victimizing her and offering a terse response to their plans to use the planned intro for next week's game instead: "F--k you!"

Rihanna is an Icon

Now, RiRi is going a step further and claiming that the NFL and CBS had no right use her song in the first place.

In fact, she says she only found out that her 2009 collaboration with Jay-Z was to be featured in the broadcast when a friend sent her a press release reporting that it was already a done deal.

In the wake of the Ray Rice scandal that's still sending shockwaves through the league, producers claimed they felt the intro featuring Rihanna's hook, and narration by Don Cheadle would be inappropriately light-hearted.

When CBS pulled Rihanna’s NFL intro to its first-ever Thursday Night Football telecast last week, it was a questionable but more or less accepted move.

Some felt it was unfair to punish Rihanna, a domestic violence survivor, but given the astonishing Ray Rice video and controversy, CBS nixed her intro.

Now that they want to slide her music back in this week, however? Well, there's at least one individual who seems pretty unhappy with the decision:

Rihanna NFL Tweet

Last week, CBS said playing a pop song didn’t fit with the serious tone of its hour-long pregame show, almost half of which was dedicated to Rice.

The first 25 minutes focused exclusively on the player's release by the Baltimore Ravens, who were playing that night, and indefinite suspension.

In the aftermath of the video of him striking his now-wife Janay Palmer, the pregame show coverage included a plea by James Brown to stop domestic violence.

“We thought journalistically and from a tone standpoint, we had to have the appropriate tone and coverage,” CBS Sports chairman Sean McManus said.

CBS made a last-minute decision to drop Rihanna from performing during last night’s Ravens-Steelers NFL pregame show, leading fans to note the obvious irony.

Instead of a performance featuring the singer, the network instead aired commentary about Ray Rice, the disgraced former Baltimore running back.

The video of Rice knocking out Janay Palmer which surfaced this week led to his release and indefinite suspension, while embroiling the NFL in controversy.

Rihanna, of course, can feel Palmer's pain, and like Rice's now-wife, famously took back her abuser romantically even after he pummeled her brutally.

She and Chris Brown have broken up a second time, but it's impossible not to note the parallels, and the incongruence of Rihanna getting nixed by CBS.

The league is facing major backlash for failing to take harsher action against Ray, initially suspending him for just two games before this video leaked.

Some have speculated that they saw this video prior to this week, or that the powers that be didn't try too hard to track it down. Either way, the NFL looks terrible.

The World Cup may be over (There's always 2018, Argentina!) but for Rihanna, the party is still going strong.

Rihanna's been rooting for Germany since day one, so naturally the famously sports-obsessed singer flew to Brazil for the big final match of the world's biggest sports tournament.

Fortunately for us, she shared some highlight via Twitter and Instagram:

Rihanna Celebrates Victory!
RiRi parties with the German soccer team after their World Cup victory. She'd been rooting for ze Germans from the start of the tournament.

Yes, when you're Rihanna, you don't just root for your favorite team from the stands - you take them out after the game and show them how to party!

RiRi described partying with GMNT as "the best day of my life" on Twitter. We're sure it was a pretty memorable occasion for the players too.

Rihanna loves to shock on social media, but she usually sticks to the tried-and-true method of exposing her nipples in new and interesting ways:

RIhanna See-Through Dress Image
Rihanna has received some criticism for wearing a see-through dress to the CFDA awards. Frankly, we think she looks great!

During yesterday's US vs. Germany World Cup match, however, RiRi used a strange combination of weed and soccer to try and squeeze some WTF? reactions from her fans.

"Germany come onnn!" Ri tweeted at the start of yesterday's match.

When the LA Galaxy US pro team took offense and called out the tweet as rude, Rihanna revealed that her heart belongs to a different nation:

"At least da bae plays for Ghana lol" she tweeted in reference to her well-advertised crush on Ghana's Kevin-Prince Boateng.

So why is Rihanna trolling the World Cup? Well, she gave us the obvious answer in picture form:

Chris Brown and Drake have been offered $1 million each to fight three rounds in a boxing ring in the name of charity, the New York Times reports.

What's more, promoter Damon Feldman is hoping to pay Rhianna, whose links to both stars are well documented, the same amount to be the ring girl.

“It’s more of a show than anything, and we can raise millions for charity,” Feldman said. “Instead of fighting in a bar, they could get paid to fight!"

"We would like to have Rihanna as a ring girl, as well, but if she doesn’t take our offer, we know she will be watching,” the prospective MC added.

The fight, if it happens, would take place at a ring in Las Vegas in August, he says. Proceeds would go towards a charity for battered women.

Feldman has already promoted celebrity fights featuring Jose Canseco, Michael Lohan, Rodney King, Hailey Glassman, Danny Bonaduce and others.

The now-infamous Chris Brown-Drake fight went down in a New York City nightclub June 14. The club, W.i.P., has since been shut down by NYC.

NBA star Tony Parker was among several people injured in the melee, which allegedly erupted because of bad blood over (what else) Rihanna.

Move over, Darren McFadden. According to reports, Rihanna is turning her attention over to another random athlete in the New York Knicks' J.R. Smith.

Sources tell In Touch that the two are a thing. A fake thing, probably, but good enough for 2-3 hours of celebrity gossip before she denies it on Twitter.

The two were spotted, allegedly, getting cozy at Veranda nightclub in NYC.

“They were very flirty in the club all night and holding hands,” an eyewitness tells the magazine. “She was sitting on his lap and was really into him.”

Rihanna and JR

How serious is it? Not very. But those who know the wild child say she's attracted to bad boys like J.R., who's no stranger to raising eyebrows himself.

J.R. Smith, 26, made headlines in March when he was fined $25,000 by the NBA after tweeting a pic of a woman’s ass in a thong from his bed. Classy.

“He is the team’s most controversial player, so it’s no wonder that Rihanna likes him,” says a source. In the past, the singer has said of her "type":

“I definitely like high-risk guys. I don’t like cream puff, corny guys… the nice ones that won’t hurt you. I like the edge. That’s the thrill for me.”

Eli Manning, New York Giants quarterback and MVP of Super Bowls XLII and XLIV, will host Saturday Night Live gig on May 5, the NBC show announced.

The musical guest that night? None other than Rihanna!

Manning previously appeared on the program five years ago, but only as audience member when his big brother Peyton Manning hosted the broadcast.

It will be Rihanna's third musical appearance on SNL.

Rihanna blew off the People's Choice Awards in L.A. this week. As did other stars, to be sure ... but Rihanna did so to watch an NBA game! Across the street!

Faux pas?

The Los Angeles CLIPPERS were the hot ticket in town Wednesday, besting the Heat in overtime (sorry LeBron) in what was definitely a good game. Still.

Rihanna Music Video Still

Katy Perry is trying to stay out of the limelight as her divorce drama blows over. Lady Gaga was no doubt off performing and shutting it down elsewhere.

Rihanna won the People's Choice Award for "Favorite R&B Artist" yet sat a few hundred yards away. Was she wrong to bail on the show just to kick it?

Eh, not really. The People's Choice Awards are pointless.
