Maybe Rihanna wasn't really asking Chris Brown this question last night ... but The Hollywood Gossip certainly is now. Come on Chris, WTF is that?!

Seriously. If the audience for this sexy Rihanna performance consisted of only Chris Brown, and the setting was her apartment, and the point was to get him all riled up for the hot love to follow later in the night, then we can sort of see that.

That's not the case, however. Rihanna wore this while opening for Kanye West's "Glow in the Dark" at HP Pavilion on Saturday in San Jose, Calif.

We're not quite putting her in Mary-Kate Olsen's league as far as celebrity fashion nightmares go, but Rihanna, consider yourself officially on notice.
