With all the negative publicity surrounding her - even though she was the victim in the Chris Brown case - it's nice to see Rihanna getting back to living her life and reaching out to one of her fans and making a little girl's day.

Jasmina Anema, 6, is one of Rihanna's biggest fans. So when her musical idol walked into her hospital room at NYU Medical Center April 2 to visit her, as People magazine reports, the leukemia patient could hardly believe her eyes.

No Herpes Here

"She's really here!" Jasmina exclaimed when Rihanna came in and hugged her. "You are such a beautiful little girl," the singer told the ailing child.

High doses of chemotherapy often leave Jasmina tired, while a bone marrow donor registry works around the clock to try and find her a suitable match.

"But when Rihanna walked in the room, there was no sign of that at all," said her doctor. "Jasmina loves Rihanna. And Rihanna fell in love with Jasmina."

Indeed, the two girls became fast friends, spending more than three hours talking, playing and even indulging in a slumber party-like pillow fight.

Rihanna first learned about Jasmina's plight in early February, when she saw the moving video Jasmina's best friend, Isabelle Huurman, and her mother, Karen Detrick, made appealing for bone marrow donors to save Jasmina.

The coast is clear.

Now that Chris Brown's court date has come and come, and his not guilty plea entered with a new hearing set for April 29, Rihanna saw that the time was right.

Keepin' it Hood

To return to the mainland, that is.

Rihanna was spotted at the airport on Tuesday in Barbados with her mother, Monica Fenty. She had been in her native country while Brown was being arraigned.

She's now back in the U.S., having boarded a flight to LAX. It's good to know if your boyfriend is arraigned on felony charges, you can always go home again.

Rihanna heads to the airport with mom Monica Fenty.

RiRi felt staying far away from Monday's proceedings was the best move, but her lawyer has made it clear she will do whatever is required of her by the D.A.

He also made clear that she would love to have nothing to do with this, and for it to just go away. Will that translate to the D.A. giving Brown a plea deal?

Yesterday, Rihanna's dad was singing a different tune, making public his belief that Brown should plead guilty, own up to it and seek mercy from the judge.

After hearing the news that Chris Brown formally pleaded not guilty at his arraignment, where he faced charges of allegedly pummeling Rihanna, Ronald Fenty, her father, said that Brown "needs to stop being in denial" about the attack.

"So what happened? Somebody else did this to Rihanna then?" Fenty said to Us Weekly. "I just would like justice, to see it go in the right direction."

The singer, 19, entered a not guilty plea on both of his felony charges of assault and making criminal threats to Rihanna, 21, on Monday afternoon.

"I don't want his career to be damaged - it’s damaged already," Fenty said.

"I think [Chris Brown] is a very talented guy, but everybody should have to pay. When you do the crime, you do the time. I don't want to see him locked up for a long time - I just want him to acknowledge and get some help."

Rihanna: Prince?

If Chris Brown is not guilty, as he claims in court, of attacking and threatening to kill Rihanna February 8, Ronald Fenty wants to know who is responsible.

"Who did it - that’s the question now," he said.

"If he’s not guilty, who did it? He should say 'guilty' and let the court be leaning into him and try himself to the mercy of the court, see if he gets a fine."

The father of Rihanna, who's home in Barbados, added: "He’s going to go beyond that and it could go longer, it can be even worse for him in the long run."

We don't think it's a stretch to say that Brown is very much guilty of his role in the attack on Rihanna. The plea of not guilty is just a formality, buying time while his lawyers and the D.A. try to reach a deal to avoid a trial.

The last thing Chris Brown or Rihanna want is a protracted court scenario that drags this out for weeks. The question is if the D.A. will allow Brown not to serve time, or if he's willing to serve some to make this end sooner.

Chris Brown entered a plea of not guilty to two felony charges - aggravated assault and making criminal threats - in court this afternoon at 3:26 p.m. PST.

With ex-girlfriend Rihanna, the victim in the "alleged" incident, nowhere in sight, Brown showed up at L.A. County criminal courthouse to officially face the music for "allegedly" pummeling her into oblivion back on February 8.

He is due back in court on April 29.

After hearing the counts against him, Brown was asked for his plea by the judge. The singer answered with a hushed, short "not guilty, your honor."

Brown's legal camp, headed by attorney Mark Geragos, has been working on a plea deal around the clock, with the goal of preventing him from having to serve jail time (he is looking at up to years and eight months if convicted).

As of now, though, there is no deal.

All in all, the star's arraignment was uneventful. What happened outside the courtroom, however, is another matter. Donald Etra, who is Rihanna's lawyer, spoke to reporters - and did so almost as if he were speaking on behalf of Brown.

Etra said Rihanna, who is chilling in Barbados and distancing herself from the case right now, would be pleased "if it [the case] were over quickly."

As in, if a plea bargain for Chris Brown were finalized ASAP. Asked what kind of deal she wants, Etra said the singer recognizes that it isn't up to her.

She has made it clear, both implicitly and explicitly, that she does not want to go to court, although Etra says Rihanna will cooperate if ordered to.

Geragos didn't speak to the press, but prosecutors would surely be far from thrilled if he did so while negotiations for a plea deal are ongoing. So it is all the more intriguing that Rihanna's lawyer answered all of the questions.

Stay tuned ...

With Chris Brown due in court next week, Rihanna has been keeping her distance from her estranged lover but living a more high-profile life than she was right after his "alleged" attack on her, hop-scotching the country in glamorous style.

Rihanna's latest stop Friday: her native Barbados.

"She's home," father Ronald Fenty said of Rihanna, who was photographed at the island's international airport wearing a long, gauzy beige dress, white sunglasses and sandals. "She is in good spirits. And she sounds great."

She looks great, too, albeit a little like Prince:

She and Chris Brown are said to be on a break after reconciling after the pre-Grammy Awards melee. He is scheduled to be arraigned tomorrow on charges of aggravated assault and making criminal threats, i.e. saying he was gonna kill her.

Sporting a new hairstyle and a positive attitude, Rihanna smiled and laughed as walked through Honolulu airport Wednesday, arriving there for some R&R.

She's supposedly going to be working in Hawaii as well, but that's a pretty nice work environment. We imagine there'll be time to hit the beach and clubs.

The 21-year-old star slipped undetected through LAX at the start of her latest getaway, according to a source, and has been staying on the island of Oahu.

Here's a photo of the Barbados-bred beauty upon her Pacific arrival. No sign of the hot new gun tattoo yet, but wait until she strips down to her bikini ...

Rihanna has been traveling a lot since being beaten senseless and threatened with murder after somebody booty call texted Chris Brown, 19, in February.

Model Natasha Ellie was said to have sent the text that triggered the epic fight, though some accounts say it was Brown's much-older manager Tina Davis.

But, after a solo trip to Mexico, she and Brown reconciled and spent quality time together in Miami, where he jet-skiied around like a douche at Diddy's pad.

They were also seen together in L.A., but not photographed.

In mid-March, Rihanna hit N.Y.C. – sans Brown. They are said to be taking a break again. At the time, a source said she wanted to put the incident behind her: "She is looking forward to getting back to work and focusing on her career again."

As for their supposed reunion on Oprah? Don't hold your breath.

Nearly two months after the brutal attack that left her unconscious and him in handcuffs, it's still unclear if Rihanna and Chris Brown have reconciled.

They haven't been seen together in public, nor have they been hanging out since he was seen jet skiing like a tool at Diddy’s Miami mansion last month.

In mid-March, it was rumored that they were sort of broken up again. Or at least taking a break (whatever that means) as his felony arraignment nears.

But another, public reconciliation may be in the works yet. Rumor has it that none other than Oprah is trying to them on her show - at the same time!

Oprah's camp denies this, but sources say she has secretly been talking to Rihanna for weeks. She also reportedly told her not to get back together with him.

Rihanna, however, apparently wants Chris Brown by her side if she appears on Oprah's show. She allegedly wants a public apology as well during the show.

"She's been having second thoughts about being back together," a source says. "Going on Oprah to tell the world how sorry he is will help make up her mind."

If there's any truth to this story, wow, talk about awkward. We just hope that Dr. Phil and Gloria Allred and Octomom find some way to cash in on it as well.

She and Chris Brown may be on a break (whatever that means), but Rihanna is fully cooperating with the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office, her lawyer says.

Attorney Donald Etra tells E! Online that a report that Rihanna is no longer cooperating with prosecutors in their assault and criminal threats case against her longtime beau - whom she's currently taking a break from - is "totally incorrect."

A rep for the D.A. concurs. "We have been in contact with her attorney, and he has always said she is a cooperating victim," says spokeswoman Sandi Gibbons.

Rihanna, who lately has been doing enough partying and clubbing to make up for a month spent out of the limelight, will not be in court on April 6 for Chris Brown's rescheduled arraignment on felony assault and threat charges.

"There is no need for her to [to appear next Monday]," Gibbons told E! Online yesterday. "She is not the defendant in this case, Chris Brown is."

The lawyer appeared on her behalf March 5, telling the court that his client was not requesting an order of protection against her alleged attacker.

Nearly two months have passed since he pounded her unconscious, and now the word over the weekend out of Los Angeles is that Rihanna is not cooperating with the prosecution in the Chris Brown case, with arraignment set for April 6.

Sources say Rihanna "wants the whole thing to go away" and isn’t helping the D.A. at all as he prepares his case against Brown for allegedly beating her to a bloody pulp in the early hours of February 8, the day of the Grammy Awards.

Rihanna is angry, they say, that pictures of her bruised face were leaked to the press. She’s not happy, too, that she was quickly identified as Brown’s victim.

Despite rumors that they are sort of broken up (after reconciling after the attack), her loyalty to Brown is apparent, though some think it will backfire. Even without her testimony, prosecutors already have evidence and a statement.

Even more damaging to Rihanna, ironically, may be be the image of her as a battered woman defending her batterer, a label she's already been tagged with.

Into the Light

For her to endorse - implicitly by doing nothing or explicitly by trying to nix the D.A.'s case - what happened February 8 could result in her going from victim to enabler. Victims may earn public sympathy, but enablers don’t.

Even if Rihanna feels partly responsible for initiating the fight with Brown - allegedly over a booty call text from Natasha Ellie - she was still pounded senseless.

Future commercial sponsors may not see Rihanna’s as an image they want to send to young consumers if she’s viewed as interfering with the criminal prosecution of Chris Brown ... or even if she's just getting gun tattoos for that matter.

Right now a hearing is set for a week from today. At that time, Brown will likely be arraigned on aggravated assault and criminal threats charges and plead not guilty. Whether Rihanna supports those charges remains to be seen.

In other Rihanna news, rumors that have linked her with Bromance and The Hills star Frankie Delgado are false, he told People, professing that his one, true love will always be Brody Jenner. Just kidding about the second part.

As you can imagine, given her high-profile nature to begin with, the incident with Brown and even her controversial new gun tattoo, Rihanna causes chaos when she parties.
