Rick Ross is crushed after getting fired by Reebok deal because of a song that appeared to glorify date rape, believing he deserved a second chance.

Ross' song "U.O.E.N.O." boasts "Put Molly [Ecstasy] all in the champagne. She ain't even know it. Took her home and I enjoy that. She ain't even know it."

Women's groups were unhappy, and even less so after Ross issued a tepid half-apology, claiming he did not say "rape" and was just being misinterpreted.

The shoe company was taking heat for keeping him on the payroll, so Reebok fired Rick Ross, citing that half-assed mea culpa as a big reason.

Reebok has cut ties with Rick Ross in the heat of the recent controversy surrounding some of his song lyrics, which critics say condone date rape.

In the song "U.O.E.N.O.," he sings, "Put Molly [Ecstasy] all in the champagne. She ain't even know it. I took her home and I enjoy that. She ain't even know it."

A denial-slash-half-assed-apology did not help matters.

Enraged rape victims and female activists demanded Reebok fire Ross from his lucrative endorsement deal, and that's what happened today.

Does Reebok approve of date rape by virtue of business deals with Rick Ross? A leading women's group and scores of rape survivors see it that way.

UltraViolet, an organization that boasts 400,000 members, is incensed the company​ is not firing Ross in the wake of his new song, which alludes to rape.

Ross apologized for the rape lyrics in his song "U.O.E.N.O." last week, but his critics were unmoved, and want the sneaker giant to cut ties with him ASAP.

The group and 150 rape victims say: "Every day that Reebok continues rewarding Rick Ross with a lucrative endorsement deal, Reebok is condoning rape."

Rick Ross sent Twitter messages to fans and sponsors Thursday apologizing for a lyric in one of his new songs that seems to condone rape.

He's been literally under fire - the Rick Ross drive-by shooting investigation is ongoing - and he's taking verbal shots thanks to his "U.O.E.N.O." lyrics:

    Put molly all in her champagne, she ain’t even know it
    I took her home and I enjoyed that, she ain’t even know it.

Last week, Ross seemed unrepentant during an interview with the New Orleans radio station Q93, pointing out only that “the word rape wasn’t used.”

Witnesses to the infamous Rick Ross drive-by in South Florida say another car pulled up beside his Rolls Royce and numerous gunshots were fired, police say.

The rapper then crashed into a nearby building, unharmed.

A Fort Lauderdale police report released Thursday says witnesses saw three or four people inside an older model, burgundy or maroon BMW before shots rang out.

He was with his girlfriend, fashion designer Shateria L. Moragne-el, on January 28. The bullets from the Rick Ross shooting struck nearby businesses.

Fortunately, no one was injured in the attempted murder.

He may have been the target of a drive-by shooting attempt, but rapper Rick Ross is laughing in the face of mortal danger these days, literally.

Stepping out in L.A. Thursday with a big smile on his face and a fat cigar in his mouth, he couldn't look less like a guy worried about being offed.

The Rick Ross shooting attempt in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., caused him to crash his car into a building January 28, but he was unharmed, and unfazed.

It's pretty clear that someone has it out for him - a Chicago gang even made a death threat late last year - but he's just layin' back and doin' his thing.

A little too casual, 50 Cent and other conspiracy theorists might say. Fiddy's gone on record alleging that Ross may have staged it all. Was it a hoax?

Police say they've recovered 18 shells from the scene of the apparent drive-by Rick Ross shooting attempt in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., early Monday.

Officials won't say whether or not Ross, 37, also fired a weapon before or while he crashed in an attempt to evade the bullets fired during the drive-by.

While Ross has not made a public statement about the shooting, Pusha T has confirmed that the Miami rapper is doing well and "layin' back" at home.

Good to know. Ross has apparently kept a low profile in the days following the incident, and is supposedly being protected with 24-hour security.

The woman who called 911 to report that Rick Ross was being shot at was apparently pretty scared, which is understandable, given the stray bullets and all.

In fact, the Rick Ross 911 call is decidedly shorter than most because she hung up in mid-call, fearing the gunmen were turning around to fire again.

The call (and Rick Ross shooting) took place early Monday morning from a restaurant in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. The rapper tried to flee in his Rolls-Royce.

A woman inside of a nearby restaurant called 911 in a panic and reported amid the gunfire, "I just heard a bunch of gunshots go off ... and a car sped by."

Though accounts of the Rick Ross drive-by vary and he has yet to comment on the incident, the self-proclaimed “Boss” did what he does best: Rap.

Police in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., are gathering surveillance footage from the scene where Ross crashed his car after being targeted in a drive-by shooting.

While driving with his girlfriend Shateria L. Moragne-el, Ross smashed his Rolls-Royce into an apartment building in attempt to flee from bullets fired at him.

Security cameras at a building across the street were rolling this morning, and police are hoping they may get a glimpse at the shooter and/or the vehicle.
