This week on Bachelor Pad ... a lot of foreheads were slapped at home.

Our recap could end there and be more than sufficient, but ABC's guilty pleasure, which premiered after Emily Maynard picked Jef Holm on The Bachelorette finale in late July, always seems to suck you back in.

Who got the boot and who got some tail? Find out in THG's recap!

Reid Rosenthal Shirtless

A relay race, full of obstacles involving ice cream, hot fudge, whipped cream and nuts was the week's challenge ... Plus 5 for watching Ed Swiderski not even finish it, and Plus 25 more for Chris Harrison saying "nut sack."

Superfan David and Rachel come away with the win! Plus 10.

Dave chose to spend his date with Blakeley Shea, Erica Rose and Jamie at the prom, making this officially the least stable prom in history. Plus 20.

Blakeley and Jamie trying to be civil? Minus 15 for not even being remotely convincing. Minus 5 more for Erica Rose's mere presence this season.

Last season on The Bachelorette, Jillian Harris passed on three different Mr. Perfects - Jake Pavelka, Reid Rosenthal and Kiptyn Locke - in favor of a guy who was sending booty call texts to half the women in Chicago while on the show.

But while Ed Swiderski somehow prevailed then, it will soon be one of his vanquished, aforementioned competitors' time to shine as the new star of The Bachelor.

The show's new star will be announced during the October 13 episode of Dancing with the Stars, and all indications are that it will be one of the three.

This follows the long-running show's recent pattern of turning a fan favorite from the previous season into the sister series' star, dating back to when:

  • Brad Womack rejected DeAnna Pappas on The Bachelor finale
  • DeAnna rejected Jason Mesnick on The Bachelorette finale
  • Jason rejected Jillian Harris prior to The Bachelor finale
Jake, Reid, Kiptyn

Should the next Bachelor be Jake Pavelka, Kiptyn Locke or Reid Rosenthal?

It's clearly been a successful model, as The Bachelor franchise has actually increased its popularity despite being on for about 97 seasons and producing exactly one successful marriage. But who should carry the torch next? Vote below!

Who should be the next star of The Bachelor?

** UPDATE: A Tennesse woman that tried out for the show told a local radion station that JAKE PAVELKA has been named the next Bachelor!

Ed Swiderski openly talked about having a girlfriend while he was trying to woo The Bachelorette star Jillian Harris, former contestant Wes Hayden says.

"Dave [Good] and I remember Ed saying he had a girlfriend," says Wes, who also was accused of dating (Laurel Kagay) while on the show, to Us Weekly.

"But we are not the kind who are going to run our mouths."

Finalist Reid Rosenthal says some contestants thought from the start that Ed Swiderski, 30, was bad news and "didn't care to hang out with him."

Adds Michael Stagliano, "There was definitely some point where I did think, I'm not going to be best friends with this guy. Ed's a shady character."

The Bachelorette contestants are required to relinquish their cellphones and laptops on the show to keep interaction lively among the participants.

But due to his as a Microsoft consultant, Ed Swiderski "had an agreement" to keep both "because it was imperative for him to have access for work."

This agreement is now coming back to bite the Chicagoan.

Ed Swiderski: Cheater!

HOW HE TRICKED HER: Rather easily, it appears. Poor Jilly Bean.

Adds Jesse Kovacs of his competitor at the time, "Obviously, no one knew he was saying, 'I'm not into [Jillian Harris] and I can't wait to go home.'"

While Ed did some work, he also kept in touch with Lindsey Johnson, whom he was dating at the time, and told he was only going on the show for fun.

He even texted that Harris "wasn't his type," and that he was "not in any way attracted to the chick." Just what every newly-engaged girl wants to hear.

On April 12, three days before he told Jillian Harris he had to leave The Bachelorette to focus on his career, Swiderski emailed Johnson to say "I love you" and declared that he was going to "molest" Lindsey when he got home. Romantic.

Then, after getting engaged to Jillian on the season finale, he banged her again eight days later, according to the scorned Ed Swiderski play thing.

Another woman, Bethany Steffen, says Ed was stringing her along while he was dating Lindsey (and Jillian) and tried to get her in the sack a few days later.

Man, people are really piling it on Ed these past few weeks. Sure, maybe they are all liars, but you don't hear anyone backing Ed up, do you?

Will Jillian Harris and Ed Swiderski last?

Reid Rosenthal, the third runner-up on The Bachelorette who shocked viewers after returning to the show, getting down on one knee and proposing to Jillian Harris on Monday's season finale - is still hurting over his rejections.

"I thought I was the best guy with her," he said. "I knew I wanted to spend tomorrow [with her]. I wasn't 100 percent sure we were going to get married in six months or a year, but I knew she was someone I wanted to spend a lot of time with."

Ali Fedotowsky and Roberto Martinez

"I actually thought that my relationship with Jillian was 50 times better than the other guys. I thought it was my job to come back and get her."

Reid Rosenthal adds that if he had admitted his love for Jillian earlier, she would have eliminated Kiptyn Locke in the penultimate episode, not him.

"At this point, I had strong feelings for her, but like I said at the [After the Final Rose] taping, everything happens for a reason," says Rosenthal. "That helps me have some closure right there. Everything works the way it is supposed to work out."

Ready to date again “pretty soon - immediately,” Reid Rosenthal admits that his recent modicum of celebrity has certainly been a hit with the ladies.

“It’s insane! I thought it was just in Philly but now I’m out in L.A. and I was hanging out by the pool minding my own business and every single person came up to me and wanted to take pictures with me,” a bewildered Reid recalls.

“When people come up, they are like, ‘We feel so bad.’ Two months have gone by now, so I’m a little more detached than when I first got back.”

As for Jillian Harris, Rosenthal says he has nothing but the best of wishes for her and Ed Swiderski: “If she’s happy, I’m happy for her,” he says.

Lastly, Reid, who was able to return the ring he bought for Harris, is not sure if he’d like to be the next Bachelor, should that opportunity arise.

“The upside is that you have 25 girls coming after you, which can never be a bad thing. I trust the process at this point even if it is a little unnatural and you have to get to know somebody faster than you typically would,” he said.

“The downside is it is a ton of work. With real estate being so busy now, it’d be hard for me to figure out how to keep my business and do that.”

Who should be the next Bachelor?

Now that Ed Swiderski and Jillian Harris are together, and the dust has settled after the memorable season of The Bachelorette that ended in their engagement, speculation is already swirling over who will be the next star of The Bachelor.

There's certainly no shortage of options. Here's a look at the resumes of the top two candidates (plus a bunch of others who would make for entertaining stars).

Tell us who you want to be the next Bachelor in the poll below!

  • Kiptyn Locke. He's Mr. Perfect, and was rumored to be The Bachelor heir apparent for weeks. We were surprised Kiptyn Locke wasn't announced last night, but perhaps it is only a matter of time for the Cali hunk.
  • Reid Rosenthal. Talk about finishing strong. Never considered a contender at the onset, Reid Rosenthal won over America on his last few dates and with a surprise return - and heartfelt proposal to Jillian - on the finale.
The Final Three

Ed won Jillian's affection, but Kiptyn and Reid also captured America's heart.

  • Wes Hayden. Sure, he was the most hated man in Bachelorette history. But a good part of that was ABC sabotaging him, and c'mon, you know you'd watch.
  • Jake Pavelka. May have hurt his chances with the whole charade of coming back and throwing Wes under the bus. But Jake's good-looking and sweet!
  • Michael Stagliano. Jillian's choice, for the identical twin potential.
  • Tanner Pope. Daddy can suck a mean foot. His words, not ours.

Well? Who should be the next Bachelor?

Despite rumors that he had a girlfriend in Chicago the whole time, and that they broke up shortly after getting engaged on The Bachelorette last night, Jillian Harris and Ed Swiderski are still together, in love and happy as can be.

Appearing as an engaged couple for the first time on Tuesday's "After the Final Rose" special, the future Mr. and Mrs. Ed Swiderski gushed about each other.

Looks like it's for real, too.

The pair announced that Jillian is moving to Chicago to live with Ed on September 1, and that they are planning on getting married within the next 12 months!

Ed Swiderski and Jillian Harris

Before the details on Jillian Harris and Ed Swiderski, the "After the Final Rose" special killed a good amount time with an update on Melissa Rycroft.

Not that we don't love Melissa. We just know she was dumped by Jason Mesnick, went on Dancing with the Stars and got engaged to Tye Strickland.

A clearly uncomfortable Kiptyn Locke was then forced to relive his rejection at the hands of Jillian on The Bachelorette season finale. And it still hurt.

Kiptyn said he has no regrets about the events that transpired on The Bachelorette, and was very genuine in everything he said and did on the show.

Then it was Reid Rosenthal's turn on the hot seat. For him, there certainly were regrets, but not about his journey back to Hawaii, only prior to that.

Despite Reid's outpouring of emotion, Jillian said even if he had told her how he felt sooner, she still would have chosen Ed. Awkward, but honest.

A 12-year-old in the audience then asked Reid out. He declined, courteously.

Jillian Harris, Reid Rosenthal

Reid's first talk with Jillian since the season finale was no less difficult.

When it was finally Ed's turn to take the stage on "After the Final Rose," Jillian Harris beamed. Ed breathed a sigh of relief that they can finally "go public."

Ed Swiderski said he wanted to propose to Jillian after their date in Spain, and for whatever it's worth, they seemed rather smitten with one another on stage.

Finally, Chris Harrison called Ed out on his "mankini" shorts and an audience member asked him about his performance anxiety. No issues there, thankfully.

What do you think? Will Jillian Harris and Ed Swiderski make it?

In an emotional season finale, The Bachelorette star Jillian Harris ended up with Ed Swiderski, ousting Kiptyn Locke and leaving Reid Rosenthal devastated.

After Kiptyn was rejected, it appeared as if Reid might sweep Jillian off her feet with his dramatic return to the show. But ultimately, Jillian's feelings for Ed, the Chicago native who left and returned himself this season, were just too strong.

The episode began on the big island of Hawaii and a date with her parents, Ed Swiderski and his chest hair. He admits to her folks that he used to be married to his girlfriend in Chicago job, but now is here because he loves Jillian.

Glenn Harris gave Ed Swiderski his blessing to propose to Jillian.

Then it is time for Jillian's date with Kiptyn Locke. They are reunited at last. They kiss. A lot. They kiss again. They say a few words. And so on, et cetera.

Asked if he's in love with Jillian Harris, Kiptyn says he's "getting there." Moments later, he admits (to the camera) that he is in love with her. More kissing.

After meeting both guys, her parents and hot cousin praise ... both. Jill is still torn. Fortunately, she goes on second dates with both of the perfect fellas.

  • Jillian Waits
  • The Limo Ride

Jillian Harris' decision on love did not come easy. Wes would understand.

Ed's goes really well, with no sign of performance anxiety. He confesses that he wants to be with Jillian ... forever. Hard to top that, although Kiptyn Locke tries, saying he's ready to commit and wants Jillian to - OMG - move to San Diego.

In a shameless plug for Neil Lane, the guys both pick out rings. The dudes are hella nervous. Jillian has made her decision and decides she is going to let go of ...

... Kiptyn. Even after he was gonna propose and stuff. Heartbreaking.

Sad as she is, Jillian can now focus all her attention on ... wait, is that a mysterious taxi pulling up! Yes! With Reid Rosenthal, who arrives, shirt untucked!

In tears, Reid says he had to pull "a million" strings to get back on the show (yeah, right), admits his mistakes, and professes his undying love to Jillian. Swoon.

He drops to one knee and pops the question! It's the most romantic thing ever. But ... crickets. Jillian: "I need to think aboot this." She leaves. Reid waits.

Fortunately, Chris Harrison is there to coach her. He tells her to follow her heart. Jillian: "How do I make a decision like this?" Chris: "Because you know." Pimp.

Jillian cuts Reid loose for the second time. That's gotta be rough.

Even a valiant effort by Reid Rosenthal couldn't stave off Ed Swiderski.

Finally, it's Ed's turn to walk across the pool and into Jillian's arms. He professes his love to Jillian once again, gets down to one knee and asks her to marry him.

She accepts! They embrace! Tears flow. He gives her a piggyback ride. Cue obligatory cheesy montage of Ed-Jillian highlights from weeks past as the credits roll!

Will Jillian Harris and Ed Swiderski last?

With the season finale of The Bachelorette on tap for Monday, and the "After the Final Rose" special following one night later, two (maybe three) men remain.

Bachelorette spoilers, rumors and gossip abound as Jillian Harris prepares to make a decision and bring to an end what has been a tumultuous fifth season.

Let's review some of the theories posited (some from more reliable sources than others) as to what will happen in The Bachelorette season finale Monday:

  • Jillian will pick Ed Swiderski. This is what many fans of the show, including past star DeAnna Pappas, see happening. Jillian Harris has had eyes for Ed since day one, and he looks like the odds-on favorite to win, right?
  • Maybe, but there is the persistent rumor that Ed has a girlfriend. After all the talk about Wes Hayden (and Laurel Kagay) this season, Ed having a significant other that somehow derails his chances would be a big twist.
  • Also a big twist - and one guaranteed to shake things up in some form? The return of Reid Rosenthal. All indications are that the vanquished third-place finisher will come back and ask for another shot. Will he get it?
Ed Swiderski and Kiptyn Locke

Will Jillian Harris pick Ed Swiderski or Kiptyn Locke? Or neither?

  • We have not heard any rumblings about Kiptyn Locke being chosen on the finale. Contrarily, we have heard plenty of rumors that he is being considered - or has even signed a deal - to be the next star of The Bachelor.
  • Assuming Reid makes his play for Jillian, that could lead to this scenario: Jillian chooses Ed, but breaks up with him (possibly due to the girlfriend situation) for Reid on the "After the Final Rose" special, a la Jason Mesnick.
  • Many fans think Reid Rosenthal will ultimately be Jillian Harris' choice, and it's just a matter of how the show times the big reveal. However, there are some who believe Jillian is not engaged and ends up with no one.

Now that would be a shocking ending - and a disappointing one for fans who have fallen in love with her and each of the Canadian cutie's remaining suitors.

Who will win The Bachelorette?

Next Monday on the season finale of The Bachelorette, Jillian Harris finally makes her choice. Ed Swiderski and Kiptyn Locke are the last men standing.

Except for the ousted Reid Rosenthal, who - Bachelorette spoiler alert - looks poised to return and possibly propose to Jillian in a surprising twist.

The promo that ran after this week's "The Men Tell All" show - at which Reid was MIA - shows him returning to Hawaii for another shot at Jillian.

What does Jillian say about who returns and what happens?

"I can't really tell you too much," Jillian tells ET. "I watched the tease for the finale, and I can tell you it is an exciting episode and a crazy day. I can't tell you who comes back, but it is all very traumatic, unfortunately."

Traumatic? That doesn't sound good. Nor do some of her other comments. Maybe she is just a good bluffer, but Jillian Harris makes no reference to being engaged, or even being in a relationship with a great guy or anything like that.

Again, she could be playing it cool. But it's only about "her decision."

Jillian's Decision

"All I can say is that after all the drama is over, and I make ONE LAST FINAL decision, I hope you all are as thrilled with the outcome as I am," she wrote in her last blog. "You have no idea how excited I am to let this secret out!!!"

Then: "I struggled with a lot of decisions. Again, I admit that I’m human. But I stand by my statement that I am very happy. I have had two months living with my decisions and am still very happy with them. That is what matters right?"

Get the feeling she is pulling a Brad Womack here?

Jillian even admits having second thoughts about getting engaged, and she talks to her dad about it. He told her that accepting a proposal from the man of her choice did not mean that she has to walk down the aisle immediately.

He pointed out to Jillian, "Getting a proposal in this scenario signifies for me that you are ready. Let's have a proposal, get engaged and start a life together and a year from now see where things are at and then get married."

"My dad was very right," Jillian adds.

That said, Jillian does rate the final three men:

"I would definitely have to say for Reid, it would be his sense of humor and just his quirkiness. Kiptyn is just so genuine and has such a huge heart."

"With Ed, I would have to say it is his balance. He has a good balance in life between personal, business and family. He is a well-rounded individual."

What do you think? Is this all a smoke screen, or does Jillian Harris not pick anyone at all? Who, if anyone, will win The Bachelorette?

Reid is coming back next week on The Bachelorette.

If you weren't convinced already, the final moments of last night's utter waste of time "Men Tell All" special were a tease for the season finale.

Amid shots of Ed Swiderski and Kiptyn Locke meeting her family and Jillian Harris preparing to make her choice, the narrator, Chris Harrison, promised that “an unexpected confession would make her question everything.”

A montage of dramatic music and cuts followed, the last of which was a shot of a ring in a man’s hand ... a hand belonging to ... Reid Rosenthal!

Chris had said that Reid wasn’t able to make it to the "Men Tell All" taping due to to a prior engagement. As in an engagement to Jillian Harris?!

Just Jillian

You never know, with The Bachelorette editing that was already used to manipulate and sabotage Wes Hayden, what this actually means, but If he weren't still a factor, Reid Rosenthal sure as hell wouldn't be MIA at the "Men Tell All."

We know now that Reid Rosenthal comes back, and considering he’s holding a ring, and what a shocking twist it would provide, you've gotta think he proposes to Jillian.

The question is, how does this impact the ending?

Does she choose Ed Swiderski, break it off with him over the girlfriend he allegedly has in Chicago, only to have Reid swoop in and sweep her off her feet? Does Reid profess his love to her, only to have it be too late? Does she reject all three?

Jillian's blog on People today once again does not say she is in love, nor allude to the fact there is even a man in her life. This has some fans thinking she could pull a Brad Womack and choose no one, but she could be just playing it cool.

What do you think? Who will win The Bachelorette?
