For the record, Nicole Scherzinger did not send Rachel Crow home on Thursday night.

This X Factor judge instead chose to let America decide between the 13-year old and Marcus Canty, yet Scherzinger is the panelist facing the harshest fan rebuke after Crow's name was called for elimination.

"My heart comes from the right place, so I get really sensitive when people are negative," the former Pussycat Doll told reporters after the show. "Don't [critics] know I only want the best for every single person?"

Nicole added that she thought Canty would be selected by voters, though they never got a chance to hear Crow's incredible survival song.

"When I saw that look on her face, [I felt] that I had let her down, like I dropped her," Scherzinger, who shed tears for 30 minutes after the episode, said. "I could have been holding on and I dropped her. She is the sunshine of our show, so it's hard to see her cry."

Crow, however, has come out and said the public should not blame Nicole, while the young crooner's fortunes are already looking up: sources say Disney has requested a meeting with Rachel.

It was the most emotional scene of The X Factor season: Rachel Crow, 13, falling into sobs as soon after she eliminated from the competition this week... while the crowd booed Nicole Scherzinger for not casting a vote that would have saved the contestant.

After the show, however, Rachel was far more calm than many in the audience.

"I am not feeling the greatest, but I will be fine," the singer told the press, adding of Scherzinger: "She told me that she was sorry. I don't know why she said that... I told her it was okay and not her fault."

Considering the hate-filled messages directed at Nicole and Paula Abdul last week, Crow also issued this plea to fans:

"I want to say to all those people, 'Stop, Please.' [Scherzinger] is the nicest person and the most beautiful person inside and out... She is amazing, and I don't understand why people are taking it out on her. It's no one's fault. It's not even America's fault. It's no one person's fault. It's just what God had in store for me. And I will be okay."

Do you think Rachel should have been voted out?

Did Rachel Crow earn your vote on The X Factor last night?

The young singer took to the stage twice, first doing an impression of Bruno Mars and then covering "Music and Me," and earning strong, weird praise from the judges.

"I’m waiting for the Rachel Crow doll to come out complete with your own bathroom," Nicole Scherzinger said, for example.

But are these performances enough to keep Rachel around for another week? Compare her most recent versions to Melanie Amaro's (HERE) and Josh Krajcik's (HERE) and decide for yourself...

She's adorable and she's mature far beyond her years, but Rachel Crow may be saying farewell to The X Factor after tonight's results show.

The young singer did her best to cover Michael Jackson's "Can You Feel It" last night, but she simply lacked the vocal range to really make an impression with the song, leading the tempered praise from the panelists.

"I adore you, but the song didn’t give you justice," Paula Abdul said, while LA Reid added: "I didn’t believe you were having a great time."

Will this rendition cost Crow a shot at the title? Judge it for yourself:

Do you believe in Rachel Crow?

This young X Factor finalist did all she could last night to earn votes and praise from the judges, covering a Yolanda Adams single with the same pluck and fire she brings each week to the competition. At least we think that's what happened. It was a bit difficult to actually see Rachel on stage, what with all the backup dancers and confetti flying around. This may have been an overly staged performance.

But Paula Abdul referred to Crow as an "angel," while Nicole Scherzinger labeled her a "bright light." Watch the audition and judge for yourself now:

We doubt Rachel Crow has a rock 'n roll career ahead of her. That just isn't this X Factor contestant's niche.

But the 13-year old gave the genre a gallant effort last night, having fun with a cover of the classic Rolling Stones single, "I Can't Get No Satisfaction."

Simon Cowell, who serves as Crow's mentor, of course, gushed over the rendition, telling his charge he could see her "winning the show." L.A. Reid also admitted that Rachel could sell concert tickets Paula dubbed her one of her "favorites." Is she one of yours?

Are we looking at the next Beyonce Knowles?

Yes, it's early on The X Factor. And, yes, Simon Cowell is known for hyperbole. But it was hard to really argue with that judge last night after he compared 13-year old Rachel Crow to one of this generation's most iconic artists. Too much praise far too soon?

Perhaps. But hold off on your judgment until you view Crow belting out this version of "I'd Rather Go Blind," during the show's fun movie-themed night of auditions. Did we mention she's only 13?

Dear Nicole Scherzinger: Chill.

Following a strong performance on The X Factor last night by Rachel Crow, this judge remarked: "You are America's sunshine. Even though you're only 13 years old, you have a classic recording voice. Kind of like Michael Jackson in the Jackson 5?"

Let's maybe save the MJ comparisons until Crow at least reaches the top 10, okay?

Still, there's no denying this young singer's talent, along with the diversity she brings to the competition. Do you prefer a simple, a capella performance from Melanie Amaro? Or a fun, energetic cover of "Walking on Sunshine" by Rachel? These are the kinds of choices fans will have to make as the weeks progress.

Do Rachel Crow a favor: ignore her outfit in the following video.

Heck, ignore the random dancers flitting about around her, as well as the fact that she appears glued to her raised spot on the stage. None of Simon Cowell's choices for this protege worked well last night.

But Crow still deserves her spot in the final 12 for her personality and her vocals, showing off clear potential with this mash-up of "Baby" by Justin Bieber and "Where Did Our Love Go" by The Supremes. Yes, Simon, she can pull off top 40 and retro, but couldn't you have found another way to prove that?

Which performance by a young finalist did you like best last night: Crow's, or this one by Brian "Astro" Bradley?

They've made it. They can take a breath, at least for a brief moment before the live performance begin.

But 17 acts were named to The X Factor finals last night, many of whom have given official statements on the achievement and posed for fun new promotional photos for Fox...

Melanie Amaro: "The whole process is just mind boggling. It’s so amazing.”

Simone Battle: “I am blown away by how much talent there is in the girls’ category. At this point, it’s not about impressing the judges, it’s about impressing the world and everyone who is watching.”

Drew Ryniewicz: “The girls in my category are nothing but amazing, every single one. From the start I have loved them all.  We are almost like a big family."

Tiah Tolliver: “I am extremely happy to have him [Simon Cowell] as my mentor because he fought for me. I feel like he is going to lead me in the right direction and I sincerely believe him when he tells me stuff.”
