Prince William and Kate Middleton ended their whirlwind visit to the U.S. in typical fashion: Devoting time to charitable causes important to them.

Following a star-studded day of glamorous events, the royal visited L.A.'s notorious Skid Row district to spend time with impoverished children.

That wasn't all. The Duke and Duchess followed that up by filling care packages for children whose parents are serving overseas in the military.

Will and Kate went to Inner City Arts, an oasis in the middle of an area rife with homelessness that provides free art classes to neighborhood kids.

The regal 29-year-olds were treated to an art class of their own, where they painted canvasses and made ceramics alongside some area children.

Later, at the Service Nation: Mission Serve event at the Sony studios in Culver City, William gave a speech at his trip's "most important" event.

Prince William and Kate Middleton took over Southern California yesterday.

"In terms of pure star quality, William and Kate are the biggest stars in the world," said Piers Morgan, among the guests at the hottest ticket in Hollywood.

How impressed were the celebs? In a town where your worth is gauged by how late you get to show up, the biggest names in showbiz were there early.

The best seats – at the table with the royal couple – went to Nicole Kidman, Barbra Streisand and James Brolin, along with executives and diplomats.

Also attending were Jennifer Lopez, Blake Lively, Dana Delany, Elizabeth Moss, Marie Louise Parker, Kristin Chenoweth, Jason Bateman, Elizabeth Banks, Jack Black, Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson, Jonah Hill and Chris Evans.

On the last day of their Canadian tour (they arrive in the U.S. today) Prince William and Kate Middleton went all out for the Calgary Stampede.

Wearing Stetsons and jeans, the royal couple were greeted by the Governor General of Canada, His Excellency David Johnston, at the event.

As they watched a performance by the Young Canadians of the Calgary Stampede, the Duke and Duchess were even seeing tapping his toes!

YEE-HA: William and Kate looked great, don't y'all agree?

Margaret Southern, co-chairman of the Spruce Meadows equestrian park in Calgary, Alberta, said, "I was proud to see them wearing their hats."

"William said 'When in Rome, do as the Romans do,' and I thought that was very sweet ... They didn't have to wear the hats, but they did."

"Kate said to me, 'Doesn't William look handsome?'"

We'd have to say she was right, wouldn't you? The look suits the Duchess, too. This is easily one of our favorite Kate Middleton pics to date!

Continuing their Canadian tour, Prince William and Kate Middleton squared off in a friendly dragon boat race Monday on Prince Edward Island.

Despite a torrential downpour of soaking rain at Dalvay-by-the-Sea, the royal couple was able to fit in the afternoon race across Dalvay Lake.

William won, but his wife was the true prize.

As couple suited up in life jackets and boating attire, the two crews were fighting over which group would get to boat with Kate Middleton!

"Both he and Kate are very competitive, so I think [the race] was good," Olympic bobsled athlete Heather Moyse, who presented William with his prize of a bottle of champagne, says of the newly-married pair.

"As a female athlete, I would be really annoyed if someone let me win."

Despite her loss, Middleton remained in high spirits, telling attendee Hillary Thompson that "maybe next time" she'll get the best of William.

After the race, the 29-year-old Duke and Duchess walked along the waterfront to regain their energy by sampling local culinary delicacies.

Newly-married Kate Middleton and Prince William were greeted by huge crowds - and questions about their future family - in Canada this weekend.

While touring Quebec City, Kate was presented with a bouquet by a young admirer named Raffaela, 2, who was with her father David Cheater, 28.

Like many others, Cheater waited hours with his daughter to see the royal couple, who attended a ceremony honoring Canada's Royal 22nd Regiment.

"Kate said to me, 'What a beautiful daughter you have,'" he said after The Duchess laid her hand on the youngster's head and smiled at the little girl.

He added: "When I said to her I wished her and William well with starting their own family, she said, 'Yes, I hope to.'" So when will Kate get pregnant?

She didn't say, but watching them outside City Hall - where Prince William delivered a short speech entirely in French - they look quite smitten.

Days before embarking on their first North American tour, Prince William and Kate Middleton relaxed a little on Monday with a visit to Wimbledon.

The couple were greeted with an enthusiastic ovation as they took their seats in the front row of - where else - the Royal Box at Centre Court.

William and Kate, who fittingly wore a white Temperley London dress to the most traditional of tennis contests, blushed a little at the adulation:

Love-Love

The Duke and Duchess at Centre Court.

A spokesman at St. James's Palace said the couple, who honored UK troops at an event over the weekend, were at the sporting event "privately."

Kate Middleton loves tennis and plays regularly, having visited Wimbledon a number of times. William has been going to the event since he was a child.

They were in their seats around 1 p.m. in time to support the UK's own Andy Murray in his match against France's Richard Gasquet in the Round of 16.

Murray won. So did fans who got a glimpse of these adorable lovebirds.

Keeping up with their royal duties, Prince William and Kate Middleton paid tribute to UK servicemen and women Saturday on Britain's Armed Forces Day.

The Duke and Duchess were originally scheduled to spend 30 minutes with the guardsmen at William's first event as Colonel-in-Chief of the Irish Guards.

However, Will and Kate presented Afghanistan campaign medals to members of the Irish Guards and honored soldiers and their families for over an hour.

Prince William, who is the honorary colonel of the unit, also presented the Elizabeth Cross to families of three fallen servicemen in a private ceremony.

"I am proud to be your colonel," William told the guardsmen. "I am humbled by the thought of the sacrifices that you and your families have made and the losses you suffered, all in the service of our country."

Naturally, Kate Middleton helped her man honor them in style, donning a simple fascinator paired with a chic navy blue coat dress and matching heels.

More than $1.6 million has reportedly been donated to a gift fund set up by Prince William and Kate Middleton ahead of their April 29 wedding.

The Royal Wedding Charitable Gift Fund was set up so that anyone who wished to give the couple a wedding gift could instead make a donation to charities chosen by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

The figure includes direct donations to the chosen charities along with money raised from the sale of an official royal wedding CD and donations made by Mario Testino's office from the sales of the wedding program portrait.

The Prince and His Lovely Wife

Officials said earlier this week that the money will be distributed to 26 charities chosen by the newlyweds, which were grouped into particular areas.

Changing Lives through Arts and Sport. Children Fulfilling Their Potential. Help and Care at Home. Support for Service Personnel and Their Families, and Conservation for Future Generations are all causes supported by the couple.

Some charities are based in Australia, New Zealand and Canada, where William and Kate are making their first official overseas trip next month.

In a typically classy gesture, the couple had requested that wedding guests and the public make donations to the fund rather than buy gifts.

Prince William and Kate Middleton's excursion to the U.S. isn't their only stop in North America. They'll be visiting our neighbors to the north too, eh!

After spending June 30-July 2 in Ottawa, Ontario, Gatineau, and Montreal, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will head to Quebec City on July 3.

The 29-year-old newlyweds (yesterday was William's birthday) will work with Maison Dauphin, an organization that works with homeless youths.

The Quebec group's mission ties in closely with William's Patronage of Centrepoint, a homelessness charity, back home in the United Kingdom.

The Duke, Duchess of Cambridge

Later that day, the royally cute British couple will be attending a community event at Fort-de-Levis to mark some of the region's important milestones.

A rep from the Department of Canadian Heritage says the nation hopes William and Kate will "regard Canada as a second home - a term of endearment often used by The Queen to describe her special affection for and pride in this country."

Following that, America beckons. Excitedly, at that. After stops in Prince Edward Island, Alberta and the Northwest Territories, they arrive in California July 8.

To stay looking gorgeous at all times and in all settings, Kate Middleton is rumored to be packing 40 outfits for the North American trip.

That's a lot of Fashion Face-Off potential!
