Happy 31st Birthday, Pitbull!
Today is Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday, which the U.S. marks tomorrow with a national holiday - a fitting tribute to an individual so peerless in modern times.
Far less significant, but still fun? Pitbull also celebrates a birthday today!
The Miami-born, Cuban-American rap guru has become a force to be reckoned with in recent years, showing us that music is indeed the international language.
No longer just Mr. 305, Mr. Worldwide is collaborating with everyone from J. Lo and Marc Anthony to Ne-Yo and T-Pain, cranking out one hit after another.
As we look forward to his next smash hit, here's wishing Armando Christian Perez, better known by his stage name Pitbull, a happy 31st birthday today.
Pitbull and Chris Brown Spread the "International Love" (Video)
Pitbull likes to call himself Mr. Worldwide. Fittingly, Chris Brown travels the globe with the rapper in the video for his latest single, “International Love.”
“It’s all about the music being global, the universal language,” Pitbull says, “and it goes to show no matter what language you may speak, you speak music.”
Director David Rousseau adds: “The is about the global presence of Mr. Worldwide, how he went from Mr. 305 to being a global phenomenon. Now the world is his stage.”
Deep stuff. Check out "International Love" below and see if it holds a candle to Pit's mega-hit collaborations "On the Floor" and "Give Me Everything" ...
Pitbull to Guest Star on Glee?
This has been quite a year for Pitbull, with his solo work and collaborations with Ne-Yo, J. Lo and others burning up all conceivable music charts and airwaves.
Next year, it looks like he's breaking into acting with a high-profile guest spot. TV Fanatic reports that Pit is in talks to appear on Glee as Santana's brother.
Santana came out of the closet to her parents this season, off screen, but her only family member that we actually met was her grandma, who threw her out.
No word on whether she and Pitbull's as-yet-unnamed sibling are close.
In other casting news, Glee is reportedly casting Rachel's gay dads, while Ricky Martin is coming on board as a Spanish teacher in early 2012, and Gloria Estefan is very close to signing on as Santana's aforementioned mother.
So much for the producers' promise of less stunt casting in Season 3 ...
Pitbull Barks Back at Lindsay Lohan Lawsuit
Pitbull has come out barking in his legal dispute with Lindsay Lohan, responding to the lawsuit she recently filed against him by calling LiLo a liar and a criminal.
Lohan claims the hip hop star owes her money for disparaging and using her name in the song "Give Me Everything," in which he name-checks the train wreck.
Hilariously, the track includes the memorable lyric, "I got it locked up like Lindsay Lohan." More hilariously, Lohan says a PITBULL SONG damages her reputation.
Pitbull says that's ridiculous, but Lohan refused to back down ... so his lawyers are taking it to her, asking that, first of all, the suit be moved out of N.Y. State.
Lindsay claims in court documents that she's a resident of Nassau County, however, Pit claims she's been living California since 2004 ... and he can prove it.
"Given her frequent legal troubles, Ms. Lohan possesses irrevocable ties to California that are likely to keep her there for the foreseeable future," he states.
Then, Pit rattles off every single one of her legal problems in California - many jail stints, house arrest, community service, you name it - to make his point.
Thus, in light of Ms. Lohan's continuing obligations to the State of California, as well as the foregoing facts, Ms. Lohan is not a citizen New York," he adds.
The rapper wants the case moved to federal court, where he thinks he'll have a better shot of taking Lohan down. Your move, Marilyn Monroe wannabe.
Lindsay Lohan Blows Off Pitbull Apology, VMA Invite
Lindsay Lohan was unmoved by Pitbull's explanation of the hilarious diss of her in his song "Give Me Everything." Or by his invite to the VMAs Sunday night.
Lilo recently sued the rapper because she feels his lyrics are disparaging her name - in the #1 track, he says he's "got it locked up like Lindsay Lohan."
AWFUL, we know. Definite grounds for a lawsuit.
Pitbull responded that his intention was never to defame her, and if anything, he's helping keep Lohan relevant. But he's not out of Lohan's doghouse.
Sources close to Lohan say she has no interest in going to the VMAs - which Pit invited her to as a show of good faith - and his apology had no impact.
The lawsuit is moving forward, and ridiculous.

Pitbull on Lindsay Lohan Slam: Just Tryin' to Help!
Pitbull feels Lindsay Lohan should be thanking him, rather than suing him, for taking a shot at her with a memorable line in his hit song, "Give Me Everything."
On his official fansite, he said, "I was very surprised when I found out about the lawsuit ... at first I read it and I thought, 'This has got to be a joke.'"
Last week LiLo sued Pitbull for wrongfully using her name for commercial gain by using the lyric, "I got it locked up like Lindsay Lohan" in the song.
The rapper says it was all a joke and that he supports Lindsay's career, adding that, "In no way shape or form would I wanna bring that on anyone."
"I didn't look to defamate [sic], degrade or hurt someone's career."
"For me mentioning it ... on the number one record in the world ... I thought it would be helping someone's career and keeping them relevant."
Not an unreasonable point, considering Pitbull is collaborating on what seems like every other song on the radio today. Think about it, Lindsay.
He concluded his discussion of the issue by inviting her to be his guest at the upcoming MTV VMAs. So far, no word if she's taken him up on it.

Lindsay Lohan Sues Pitbull Over Disparaging Lyrics
Lindsay Lohan is suing rapper Pitbull over disparaging lyrics in one of his songs. He does zing her pretty good, but a lawsuit? Get outta town.
The hit song, "Give Me Everything," contains this line: Hustlers move aside, so I'm tiptoein', to keep flowin', I got it locked up like Lindsay Lohan.
Oooh, that one hurt!
LiLo claims in her lawsuit that "the lyrics, by virtue of its wide appeal, condemnation, excoriation, disparaging or defamatory statements by the defendants regarding the plaintiff are destined to do irreparable harm to the plaintiff."
Yes, a PITBULL SONG is likely to to her irreparable harm.
Lindsay, who LOL-tastically claims she is "a professional actor of good repute and standing in the Screen Actors Guild," is suing under New York civil rights laws safeguarding one's name from being exploited for commercial purposes.
Lindsay Lohan alleges the song causes her "to be associated in connection with defendants" and seeks to halt broadcasting of the song. Good luck.
Caliente! Shakira Works Pole in "Rabiosa" Video
While Eminem's "A Kiss" is sure to get people talking, Shakira's "Rabiosa" will leave tongues wagging. A great many of them, we're guessing.
Shakira is known for her sexy hip-shaking, but she really ups the ante with this effort, channeling her inner pole-dancer and gyrating away!
The 34-year-old Colombian singer smolders as a blonde and dons a new look - a brunette bob - in the new video, which features Pitbull.
"Rabiosa" is the third single from her album, Sale El Sol. Watch/drool below:
Pitbull Goes All Chris Brown on Fan, Keeps Performing
This is one Pitbull not even Michael Vick would mess with.
During a Colorado concert on April 30, random rapper Pitbull was performing when a fan rushed the stage. But the artist channeled both his inner Derek Jeter and his inner Chris Brown in response:
He remained calm, absolutely pummeled the guy... and then continued to rap like nothing ever happened.
It's an amazing clip. The action picks up around the 50-second mark.
