The notorious Perez Hilton, a.k.a. Mario Lavandeira, is a popular celebrity gossip blogger who is biased and friends with many celebrities he covers, but no matter.
Mario Lavandeira was born in Miami, Fla., to Cuban parents of Galician ancestry and now resides in Los Angeles, Calif. He began writing under the name Perez Hilton (an obvious play on Paris Hilton) a few years ago.
Perez Hilton become a frequent topic of celebrity news himself with his huge site, an outrageous personality and the many lawsuits he is currently fighting.
In a classic example of the American Dream come true, Perez Hilton makes a living off of lame scribbles on celebrity pics. Most of which are not funny. Oh well.
Yet you can't dispute his impact on the celebrity gossip world, and as much as you might think Perez Hilton sucks, or is a complete hack, you gotta begrudgingly take your hat off to him for making it big and following his dream.
Still, he's a self-serving attention whore.
