He's among the leading candidates to be sent home tonight, but American Idol finalist Paul McDonald has other concerns to consider before this evening's results show.

Following his cover of Ryan Adams' "Come Pick Me Up" last night, the aspiring singer was faced with a number of angry Tweets from viewers who took issue with the Marine Corps Dress Blues jacket he donned on stage.

In response to this fervor, McDonald has Tweeted:

"Just to let everyone know I have nothing but respect for our men and women in the armed forces. Tons of respect for you guys... I've been told my jacket on the show upset some folks ... I wasn't trying to offend anyone. Sorry! I've got nothing but love for you guys!"

When Paul McDonald takes to the stage tonight on American Idol, he'll likely be less nervous than any of the other 11 male semifinalists.

That's because the 26-year old from Nashville has already recorded multiple albums with his band, The Grand Magnolias, and toured a bit around the country. The artist has more experience than most in the competition.

Will that result in a well-polished performance? We'll soon find out. For now, watch McDonald talk about his group and listen to him sing the same original song that he used on an earlier audition, "American Dreams."

He was not featured often prior to last night, but Paul McDonald took advantage of his time in Las Vegas.

The 25-year old contestant, who originally auditioned in Nashville, first took to the stage with Kendra Chantelle and impressed with a duet of The Beatles classic "Blackbird."

He then took a risk for his final audition of the evening, donning an eccentric suit and choosing an original song, one titled "American Dreams." Apt for a hopeful who was later named to the season 10 semifinals, don't you think? Check out both performances below:
