Paris Jackson, 14, is in many ways just a typical teenager.

In other ways, Michael Jackson's little girl is anything but.

The daughter of the biggest entertainer in world history spends most of her time as her peers do, navigating high school cliques, listening to music, tweeting at 3:00 a.m., etc.

But the famous offspring is ready to step into the spotlight.

Her desire to become an actress - one of the decisions that may have led to the public Jackson squabbling in July - has been met with mixed reviews in her family.

"A lot of people don't want me to do [Janet Jackson in particular does not, openly discouraging the idea, but Aunt La Toya believes in me," Paris told Glamour.

"She heard me play a little guitar and sing, and she started clapping, 'Oh my God, oh my God.' She really does encourage me; it's just awesome of her."

As for Paris Jackson defining herself while living in Michael's shadow?

"I love my dad, and I'm proud to be his daughter. I just don't think the title 'M.J.'s daughter' fits me. A lot of people think he's the only reason I'm making it ... but I want to show I do have talent and that I can make it if I try."

"I want to be my own person. The clique in my class, they don't like me or my friend because we're outside of the box. Because we're not copycats."

"Prince calls me goth, but I'm more rock 'n' roll. I listen to older music like AC/DC; Phil Collins is the ish. A ton of kids at school have made fun of me."

"If I had to give advice to other girls, I would say, 'Hang loose and ignore them. They shouldn't faze you no matter how popular they think they are.'"

Michael Jackson's kids Paris, Prince and Blanket threw out the first pitch at a minor league baseball game in Gary, Ind., along with MJ's sister La Toya.

The King of Pop's three children made the trip to their father's hometown on Thursday to celebrate what would have been Michael Jackson's 54th birthday.

Prince Michael, 15, Blanket, 10, and Paris Jackson, 14, each took the mound to kick off the Gary Southshore Railcats baseball game. Check it out:

"We're here in Gary, and it's a new experience for us. People are so nice here," Prince said. "It's amazing how much he was respected and loved."

Everywhere they go, the three kids inspire nothing but the same feelings as people see how well-adjusted and nice they are - despite all they've been through.

MJ would be proud.

T.J. Jackson is now sharing guardianship of Michael Jackson's three children along with their grandmother Katherine Jackson. This arrangement was already in effect on a temporary basis, but was just made official by a judge in court today.

T.J. will assume many of the day-to-day tasks involved in taking care of the children, including management of household personnel and security.

Prince, Paris, Blanket Jackson

T.J. has received enormous support from the family to take a guardianship role.

Katherine Jackson herself has praised T.J., as have the children, who have reportedly considered him a father figure for years. No conflict there.

The 34-year-old T.J. is Tito Jackson's son and thus a cousin to Michael's kids Prince, Paris and Blanket, despite being more than twice their age.

The judge told T.J. in court to be mindful of the giant rift currently tearing apart the family and to make sure the kids aren't adversely affected.

Four of Michael's siblings attempted to oust his estate's executors last month, while someone may have orchestrated a kidnapping of Katherine.

Tito and Jermaine Jackson later backed off their criticism of the estate, while Janet Jackson stood firm, and Debbie Rowe even weighed in on it.

Miley Cyrus has another celebrity in her corner, as Paris Jackson has spoken out in an attempt to rescue the 19-year old from a hairy situation.

The singer, of course, chopped her new blonde locks way short a couple weeks ago, drawing the ire of Internet users around the globe. She's since posted numerous photos of the fresh look on Twitter, defending it as an expression of self-love.

And Michael Jackson's daughter is totally on Miley's side.

"i don't know why people keep hating on Miley's new cut," Paris Tweeted yesterday. "i love it !! shes being herself & shes being different & i love her for that !"

Fortunately for Cyrus, fiance Liam Hemsworth feels the same way.

"Her hair looks great," The Hunger Games actor said last week during an interview on Good Morning America. "It's a big change and it looks really fantastic."

Do you agree? What do you think of Miley's haircut?

Debbie Rowe, the woman who gave birth to two of Michael Jackson's children, stating she supports the new guardianship situation, with one caveat:

She WILL intervene if things don't work out.

Rowe filed documents in L.A. County Superior Court saying she has reviewed and signed off on TJ and Katherine Jackson sharing responsibilities.

She'll be keeping her eye on it, however.

Former Mrs. Michael Jackson

Debbie Rowe warns that "Should the arrangement sought by TJ Jackson and Katherine Jackson become untenable, unstable, unsafe, or become in any way contrary to the [children's best interests], Ms. Rowe will seek court intervention."

Rowe claims her concern is for the health, safety and well-being of HER children; and says she will continue to ensure their needs are met.

TJ Jackson, the 34-year-old son of Tito Jackson, was appointed temporary co-guardian of Prince, Blanket and Paris Jackson after last month's fiasco.

When TJ first petitioned for guardianship, the judge said Debbie must be notified. That has clearly happened, and she is satisfied, for now.

It's unclear what recourse Debbie Rowe even has after relinquishing all custody to Michael Jackson years ago, but hopefully we won't have to find out.

Paris Jackson lost her father far too soon, but he's still the first and last thing she sees each and every day. The 14-year-old made sure of that with a really cool collage of Michael Jackson pictures on her bedroom wall.

Check out the photo of it she put on Instagram:

Paris Jackson Wall Tribute to Michael

"My new wall **took me 3 effing hours**," Paris wrote, adding that it was worth it. "A whole wall of his pics is the LEAST i could do #dedication."

Paris, who was recently caught in the middle of a bizarre custody battle between her aunts, uncles, grandmother Katherine and cousin T.J. Jackson, says she's also considering another, edgier tribute to the late King of Pop.

"i kinda want to get August XXIX tatted on my back," she tweeted, adding some clarification for people who were rather opposed to the idea.

"lol y'all are trippin trying to tell me not to get the tat , when u guys don't even know what it means .. it's my dads bday get over it lmao."

LMAO.

The Jackson family turmoil appears to be simmering down as matriarch Katherine Jackson was reinstated as a guardian of her grandchildren today.

The news comes less than 24 hours after Jermaine Jackson put forth an "olive branch" and backed off his challenge to late brother Michael's will.

At a hearing Thursday, Judge Mitchell Beckloff said Katherine was doing a "wonderful job" with MJ's kids, Prince, 15, Paris, 14, and Blanket, 10.

Michael Jackson Kids on X Factor

"It's clear that the children are well cared for by Mrs. Jackson," he said, according to the L.A. Times. "It is clear to me they love her very much."

The judge also said that the kids' cousin T.J. Jackson, 34, who was named temporary guardian at an earlier emergency hearing, would remain so.

The ruling came after MJ's brother Jermaine said he had withdrawn his signature from a letter calling Michael's will "fake, flawed and fraudulent."

Jermaine, Tito, Rebbie, Randy and Janet Jackson accused the executors of the estate of mismanagement and possibly harming Katherine Jackson.

Relations haven't thawed entirely, however. In a court declaration, Katherine seems to suggest she was tricked into traveling to Arizona last month.

Janet Jackson did not slap or verbally abuse her niece Paris Jackson during their alleged, heated confrontation last week, a new report clarifies.

A TMZ story claimed Janet tried to grab Paris' cell phone, then called her a "spoiled little bitch," at which point Paris told Janet to get the eff out.

While there's clearly tension between them, the celebrity news site now says Janet did not slap or otherwise touch Paris, or verbally abuse her.

Police were called to investigate some altercation on the property last week, though no arrests were made and few details officially confirmed.

It's a monumental, confusing and ugly mess dating all the way back to objections over Michael Jackson's will, which left his estate to the kids.

The family's bad blood has subsided somewhat, with TJ Jackson appointed the temporary guardian of the children, but relations remain icy.

Janet, along with her siblings Jermaine, Rebbie and Randy Jackson, are barred from Katherine Jackson's house by court order at the moment.

The Jackson family feud has simmered down somewhat, but relations are still icy as four of Michael's siblings are now banned from their mom's house.

Michael Jackson's kids Prince, Blanket and Paris Jackson - subjects of a bizarre custody feud - are currently staying at Katherine Jackson's L.A. home.

The kids' cousin and temporary guardian, T.J. Jackson, has been advised by lawyers for the Michael Jackson estate on who should not be allowed in.

As such, Jermaine, Randy, Rebbie and Janet Jackson have been 86'd.

Janet, Jermaine

T.J.'s lawyer Charles Shultz says he's instructed the security team accordingly and his actions are "in compliance" with a judge's orders, not arbitrary.

Those on the not-allowed list were either present on July 23 "or in some way participated in the events surrounding that date," Shultz stated.

It was then that Jermaine, Randy and Janet Jackson arrived at Katherine's home and allegedly tried to physically remove Prince, Paris and Blanket.

Randy, Jermaine, Janet and sister Rebbie Jackson have been accused by some of being motivated by money to separate Katherine from the kids.

Michael's will, which left his estate to his children and provided an ample allowance to their guardian (Katherine), obviously stands in their way.

Since Michael's death in 2009, Katherine Jackson had been receiving a monthly allowance of $86,000 as guardian of Prince, Paris and Blanket.

For the time being, that sum goes to T.J. Jackson.

Music legend Gladys Knight appeared on The Talk yesterday and it didn't take long for the conversation to turn to the Jackson family and its ongoing drama.

Knight especially focused on the recent Paris Jackson versus Janet Jackson feud, with allegedly led to police being called to the scene and included the 14-year old cursing off her aunt.

"Paris is 14? How old is Janet? Who's the one to try to direct the other one here?" the singer asked, adding: "If [Paris] called me that, she would have no teeth ... That's how we were brought up. You respect your elders."

Watch the clip below and react: Do you agree with Knight?
