She still has a long road ahead of her, but Paris Jackson's days are unquestionably brighter now than they were a year ago when she tried to take her life.

The 16-year-old daughter of the late Michael Jackson, who attempted suicide one year ago this week, is "doing real well," according to a close source.

Currently attending boarding school in Utah, Paris "is doing a lot better. She is getting back to normal. I think she has made quite a bit of progress."

The insider shares that Paris stays in touch with her old friends from out of state, but has made new friends too and is in the right place right now:

"Utah has been exactly what she needed to get better. She is in a much better place than a year ago. It's just a matter of time before she comes home."

Debbie Rowe is predictably engrossed in a war of words with Michael Jackson's brothers, claiming they are no talent hacks who sponged off of him.

Rowe pretty much expected Jermaine, Randy, Tito and Jackie to attack her when word got out that she's seeking guardianship of Paris and Prince.

But Michael's brothers came out swinging, claiming Debbie Rowe took Michael's money and then ran away from her children and her responsibilities.

Rowe bristles at that allegation, insisting she never abandoned her kids and that Michael constantly called her for parenting help, which she provided.

Oh, and she says Michael often told her that his only sibling with any talent was Janet Jackson, while the others turned sponging off him into an art form.

Rowe, who would also like to become Blanket's guardian even though she's not his biological mother, is deeply fearful that the kids have no supervision.

Debbie Rowe is ready to fight for guardianship of Michael Jackson's children, believing the Jackson family "isn't connected with the kids or their lives."

Rowe, the mother of Prince Michael and Paris Jackson, will seek custody of both, and would gladly care for their brother Blanket as well if she could.

According to insiders, Debbie Rowe is very concerned about the environment in the Jackson home, even though she genuinely likes Katherine Jackson.

The kids' grandmother is in her 80s and too old to serve as guardian, she feels, while Michael's brothers are around the three and are terrible influences.

As for co-guardian T.J. Jackson (Kim Kardashian's first love), Rowe likes him too, but is worried that he's on tour and away from the kids for long stretches.

Among other things, she's complained Prince has developed a filthy mouth and is rebellious because no one is even trying to keep him in line anymore.

Ahhh, siblings. You can't live with them, you can't kill them.

KIDDING!

Today is National Siblings Day! The other day a year we pretend to like our built-in best friends because social media tells us to. (The first day is Christmas, because presents, obvs.)

In honor of National Siblings Day, which is probably a totally made up day created by someone attempting to bury the hatchet with a brother or sister by publicly professing that Imma let you finish by my sibling is the best sibling ever, our celebrity gossip editors thought it would be grand to take a look at some of our favorite star siblings:

From the fabulous to the feuding to the famewhores, Hollywood is rife with celebrity siblings. Now to decide if you and your siblings are more or less dysfunctional than they are.

Debbie Rowe and Paris have been posing together for the camera during their entire trip, and a series of adorable selfies have been making the rounds.

Rowe lost contact with Paris and her two brothers after she divorced Michael Jackson, but reconnected a little over a year ago following Paris' initiative.

Mother and daughter have since become extremely close.

Rowe speaks constantly with Paris, who is at a boarding school in Utah after her tragic suicide attempt and extended hospitalization in L.A. last year.

Michael Jackson's three children had a "secluded" childhood when the King of Pop was raising them, they admit in a rare new interview with ABC News.

Prince Michael, 16, Paris, 15, and Blanket, 11 are opening up about their lives with their famous dad in a new documentary Remembering Michael.

They had little idea of what went on outside the walls of Neverland, and to hear Paris Jackson tell it, that was largely by design, as Michael saw fit.

"There are a lot of bad people out there ... [but he] always wanted a taste normal life," she said, for better or worse. "We didn't know a lot of kids our age."

"We were more secluded, we never left the ranch that often."

"He promised he would teach me how to moonwalk but never got around to it. I really hope his legacy lives on forever. I will never forget him ever. He was amazing."

Michael Jackson’s only daughter, Paris Jackson, has left the treatment facility where she has been since the summer following her suicide attempt.

She is still going back for checkups, however, according to a cousin.

Following her father’s tragic death and the brutal stress of testifying in his wrongful death lawsuit, Paris Jackson struggled and nearly took her own life.

A cleaver was allegedly used in the brutal suicide attempt.

The California-based Jackson family and Paris' mother, Debbie Rowe, sought immediate help for the teen, 15, at an out-of-state rehab center.

There, she has been receiving help without the intrusion of paparazzi or her family drama. She is not out of the woods yet though. Or even close.

Katherine Jackson says that her ailing granddaughter Paris Jackson, who tried to take her own life earlier this year, is getting the help she needs.

Things have taken a turn for the better, as well.

"She is in a good place," the 83-year-old said.

Paris Jackson, 15, has been under doctors' care since June 5, which her uncle, Randy Jackson, recently described on Twitter as "much too long."

That led to a rebuke by her mom, Debbie Rowe.

But Katherine Jackson, the teen's legal guardian, maintained that Paris is "doing much better" and her treatment is "going good, really good."

Paris Jackson wants to make amends with brother Prince Michael Jackson, with whom she was feuding at the time she tried to take her own life.

The troubled teen, who attempted suicide with a meat cleaver and pills in early June, felt abandoned by Prince, but also by everyone in her circle.

When their late father, Michael Jackson, was still alive, the children revered him and family bond was unbreakable ... not the case after his passing.

Paris struggled to relate to grandmother and guardian Katherine Jackson because she was too old, so Prince became even more of her best friend.

Debbie Rowe is livid that someone sold photos of her troubled daughter, Paris Jackson, at the boarding school where she's been for the last month.

She plans to sue the people who did so, according to TMZ.

Someone at the school, located outside California, has not just sold pictures but information about the teenager, who had been going there on the DL.

But the photos plastered on Twitter, such as the one above, were taken during a graduation ceremony, shortly after Paris arrived, blowing her cover.

She's not even using her real name at the school.
