As we reported last night, Oprah will end her reign as the most successful person ever to host a show on TV in 2011. Today, she made the announcement official.

Just because she's stepping aside doesn't mean she's forgotten about sweeps, of course. She saved her big, breaking, shocking news for the end of the show.

While she called rumors for departure "conjecture," her new cable channel, the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN), also happens to be launching in 2011. Hmm.

But in revealing the "real" reason she's walking away after 25 years, Oprah started strong, then began to cry, then regained her composure, saying it "feels right."

Also feeling so right? Shameless promotion for her next season. Holla!

Oprah Winfrey says ending her talk show feels good in her bones. An estimated net worth of over $2 billion has to feel pretty good in her bank account, as well.

Fighting back tears, O said, "I love this show. This show has been my life and I love it enough to know when it's time to say goodbye. Twenty-five years feels right in my bones and my spirit. It's the perfect number, the exact right time."

And then there was this line:

"For some long time Oprah viewers, you have literally grown up with me ... we've grown together ... you had your family and your children ... you left a spot for me in your morning or afternoon - depending on when the Oprah show airs in your town."

Wow. What an emotional, corporate farewell.

For the big O, it's time to go.

During tomorrow's broadcast, Oprah Winfrey will officially announce the end of her network television talk show. Its final airdate will be September 9, 2011.

"Tomorrow, Oprah will announce live on The Oprah Winfrey Show that she has decided to end what is arguably one of the most popular, influential and enduring programs in television history," Tim Bennett, the President of Harpo productions, wrote in a statement.

Bennett sent out the letter in order to prevent affiliates from being shocked at the announcement.

"Before she speaks to her loyal viewers, we wanted to share her decision first with you - our valued partners for more than two decades," he wrote.

Oprah

Of course, Winfrey is unlikely to leave television altogether.

It's been rumored for weeks that the icon will take the gabfest to her previously announced cable channel, the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN), which also launches in 2011.

Will you miss her on network TV?

Oprah Winfrey has former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin in the hot seat on Monday, and those hoping for a repeat of Carrie Prejean on Larry King will be disappointed.

She's still talking about her teenage nemesis, her grandson's father, Levi Johnston, but unlike other recent interviews, Palin refused to get combative this time.

Levi Johnston and Sarah Palin Photo

According to excerpts released today, Palin is asked if Johnston will be invited to their Thanksgiving dinner. "You know, that's a great question," Palin replies.

"It's lovely to think that he would ever even consider such a thing. Because, of course, you want - he is a part of the family and you want to bring him back into the fold and kind of under your wing. And he needs that, too, Oprah."

"I think [Levi Johnston] needs to know that he is always loved and that he has the most beautiful child and this can all work out for the best. It really can."

Sarah Palin ran for V.P. in 2008, but entertained even more in 2009.

Of Johnston's claims that she called her own baby retarded, Palin wisely says: "We don't have to keep going down this road of controversy all the time. We're not really into the drama. We have more important things to concentrate on."

Palin also did not seem enthusiastic about rehashing her notoriously awkward interview with Katie Couric during her bid for the Vice Presidency last fall.

She tells Winfrey she didn't think the sit-down wasn't a seminal, defining moment for her. "And neither did the campaign," she added. "The campaign said, 'This is what America needs to see and it was a good interview.'"

"And, of course, I'm thinking, 'If you thought that was a good interview, I don't know what a bad interview is,' because I knew it was a bad interview."

Fortunately, Oprah didn't ask about Levi's upcoming nude Playgirl spread. Now that would have really been a bad interview ... albeit entertaining.

Do you like Sarah Palin?

Oprah Winfrey has banned BeBe Winans off her show until further notice domestic violence charges against the gospel singer are resolved, according to reports.

The gospel singer taped appearances on Winfrey's "karaoke challenge" and was on her show last Friday, but Oprah was widely criticized for being a hypocrite.

Winfrey's critics said she was guilty of a double standard by including BeBe Winans on the program after taking a strong stand against Chris Brown this year.

Brown's assault of then-girlfriend Rihanna in February incurred the wrath of Oprah, who supported Rihanna 100 percent - understandable, but only to a point.

BeBe Winans Mug Shot

Bene Winans has been shunned by Oprah ... finally.

After BeBe Winans was charged with misdemeanor domestic assault for allegedly pushing ex-wife Debra Winans to the ground, O didn't take a similar stand.

Last Friday, when O allowed BeBe onto the show, the woman he's accused of attacking said was "hurt' by Oprah's decision because their case is still pending.

Now, it seems Oprah got the message, saying in a statement: "BeBe will not be appearing on the 'Oprah' show until his legal matters are resolved in court."

Winans was charged with domestic assault and is due in court January 20.

Once the most fearsome fighter in the world, Mike Tyson broke down in tears as he described his unspeakable grief after the death of his daughter Exodus.

Mike broke his silence in an emotional interview on The Oprah Winfrey Show yesterday, recalling how his little girl strangled herself on a treadmill cord.

Mike Tyson and Kids

This happened at her mother Sol Xochitl’s home in Phoenix.

Although nearly five months has passed since the tragic accident, Mike Tyson still struggles to accept it. However, he doesn’t want to know the details.

“From all my experience in rehab, I took responsibility,” he says, “She had to be buried, she had to be taken care of. There was no animosity. There was no anger towards anybody. I don’t know how she died and I don’t want to know.

“But I know somebody’s to blame for it, there will be a problem.”

Mike Tyson's fall from grace pales in comparison to this tragedy.

Exodus’ older brother Miguel, 7, found her unconscious after her neck got caught in the treadmill cord and her mother, who is no longer in a relationship with Mike Tyson, administered CPR before calling emergency services.

She died from her injuries the following day in the hospital.

How did Mike and his temper cope with such devastation?

“My first instinct was a lot of rage and I am so happy I had the tools in life not to go in that direction. I don’t want to go there, I want to win now."

“I’m just fortunate that I have children by different women and as a family we’re so close. That’s my biggest asset. We all love each other.”

Mike recently got married to Lakiha Spicer.

Joining the mile-high club is a dream to which many aspire.

But it appears that breaking out your o-faces while you're working on board Oprah Winfrey's private jet won't get you the thumbs up from Oprah herself.

As a matter of fact, it'll get your ass fired. Possibly illegally!

A wrongful termination lawsuit has been brought against Oprah Winfrey and her company Harpo Inc., by the mogul's former stewardess Corinne Gehrls.

Gehrls is firing back at allegations that she was boinked by married pilot Terry Pansing during a flight with Winfrey on board the Big O's posh private jet.

She says these claims resulted in their July 7 termination.

Did Oprah can a flight attendant for o-facing on board?

Also named in the Chicago defamation suit are fellow flight attendants Myron Gooch and Kirby Bumpus, who happens to be the daughter of Oprah BFF Gayle King.

The canned stewardess says the two "falsely told Winfrey and Harpo" that she and Pansing "were observed having inappropriate intimate contact inside the plane."

This gives new meaning to the term cockpit, are we right?

Gehrls has vehemently denied the allegations, going so far as to take - and pass - a polygraph test on the advice of her lawyer. Pansing reportedly did the same.

O's ex-employee is seeking $300,000-plus in damages.

Seemingly out of nowhere week, we saw Mackenzie Phillips on Oprah, revealing a long held family secret - that she had a 10-year sexual affair with her father and possibly even became pregnant by him before having an abortion.

Well, we haven't seen the last of the 49-year-old on the daytime talk show. Mackenzie is returning to The Oprah Winfrey Show tomorrow (Friday) afternoon.

Joining her? Half-sister Chynna Phillips, who spoke out this week in support of Mackenzie, who she says confessed the affair to her 11 years after it ended.

Mackenzie will appear via satellite on Friday, while Chynna will be live in the studio. It is not clear if the two will interact or if they'll appear only separately.

Mackenzie Phillips, left, and Chynna Phillips.

On Wednesday's show, Mackenzie confessed her long-running, drug-addled sexual affair with her dad, John Phillips of '60s band The Mamas and the Papas.

She said she became pregnant and didn't know who fathered the child. She had an abortion, which her father paid for, "and I never let him touch me again."

Chynna later revealed her side of her sister's sad and disturbing story, which Mackenzie is making public for the first time in her new memoir, High on Arrival.

In an interview, she said that news of the affair sent her into "a deep, deep sadness and depression for about 10 days. A part of me died when I found out."

It will be interesting to see what transpires on Friday's show.

A pair of global icons met in front of a television audience today, as Susan Boyle appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show.

Asked about her world famous makeover, the Britain's Got Talent contestant said doesn't consider her new look too drastic of a change.

"Depends what you mean by a makeover," Boyle said. "I mean, my best friend actually helps me with my makeup. You know, I mean, that's hardly a makeover."

The singer debuted a $50 dye job last month, which she said was meant "just to tidy myself up, like any other female would have done.

Regarding her chances to win Britain's Got Talent, Boyle remained humble.

"Well, I hope I have the chance, but at the same time, there's a lot of other talent in the competition, so I'm willing to take my place with them," she said. "There's a lot of good talent on the show."

We love Boyle, but she's right. The show won't be a mere coronation for her. Hollie Steel and Jamie Pugh will have a lot to say about who comes out on top.

Oprah Winfrey is famous for handing out free gifts, such as a new car, to her studio audience.

But is the talk show goddess keeping a significant secret from her adoring fans?

According to the cover story in this week's National Enquirer, Oprah only has a few years to live. The unreliable* celebrity gossip tabloid claims it brought in "experts" to review Winfrey's medical history.

These anonymous sources say the star's battle with her weight is due to a faulty thyroid that will send her to an "early grave." Reportedly (i.e. not remotely accurately), she's considering surgery to have the thyroid removed.

How pissed will members of Oprah's audience be when she opens a future show with: "Everyone here is getting... a piece of my thyyyyyyyyroid!"

* As with any National Enquirer article, we must state the caveat that the publication was the first to report that John Edwards was having an affair with Rielle Hunter. (We're reminded of that story about a blind squirrel finding a nut...)

Nearly two months after the brutal attack that left her unconscious and him in handcuffs, it's still unclear if Rihanna and Chris Brown have reconciled.

They haven't been seen together in public, nor have they been hanging out since he was seen jet skiing like a tool at Diddy’s Miami mansion last month.

In mid-March, it was rumored that they were sort of broken up again. Or at least taking a break (whatever that means) as his felony arraignment nears.

But another, public reconciliation may be in the works yet. Rumor has it that none other than Oprah is trying to them on her show - at the same time!

Oprah's camp denies this, but sources say she has secretly been talking to Rihanna for weeks. She also reportedly told her not to get back together with him.

Rihanna, however, apparently wants Chris Brown by her side if she appears on Oprah's show. She allegedly wants a public apology as well during the show.

"She's been having second thoughts about being back together," a source says. "Going on Oprah to tell the world how sorry he is will help make up her mind."

If there's any truth to this story, wow, talk about awkward. We just hope that Dr. Phil and Gloria Allred and Octomom find some way to cash in on it as well.
