We gotta hand it to Mel Gibson: the guy can choose women almost as well as he can hurl insults at Jewish people.

After all, why would a man so devoted to Catholicism get a divorce and have an affair with a 39-year old Russian pop star unless she was really, really good looking?

Give Mel Gibson credit for his utter lack of shame.

Despite a divorce and an affair that run completely counter to the teachings of the church he's publicly espoused for years, the actor flaunted his relationship with Oksana Grigorieva in public last night.

The couple attended a screening of X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

"Mel has been single for almost three years and it's nice to see him getting out and enjoying himself," his rep told People, referring to Gibson's separation from wife Robyn, which started long before divorce papers were filed.

Still, you'd think the actor - who was dressed in a black suit with a dark gray shirt at the movie - would be more careful about his public image. After all, he's still making apologies to people for hating on Jews so passionately.

Grigorieva, a 39-year-old Russian signer, is signed to Gibson's record label. She held hands with her man as they walked the red carpet prior taking a seat inside the screening at Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood.

"They came in quietly and as under the radar as they could and they were pretty low-key," sad a witness. "Mel seemed very comfortable."

Public records also imply the 39-year old, who previously dated actor Timothy Dalton, has lived in a house linked to Gibson. The residence, purchased in Sherman Oaks, California in December 2008, has an ownership trust administered by the CFO of Gibson's production company.

Moreover, Grigorieva's ex-agent, Victor Kruglov, has seen photographs of Mel's mystery woman and thinks she is, indeed, his former client.
