It turns out that Weston Cage's hospitalization following a brawl on an L.A. street this week was just the latest chapter in his parents' ugly legal battle.

Weston, 20, is the son of Nicolas Cage and Christina Fulton, who demanded last week that Cage cough up more information about Weston's condition.

Fulton filed a motion June 3 in L.A. Superior Court as part of a $13 million lawsuit alleging he mentally and emotionally abused her, then evicted her.

Christina claims he took Weston out from under her care at that time.

Fulton states that she cared for "medically challenged" Weston until he was 18 and that he "suffered from a number of mental, psychological, and physical ailments" that "required 'round the clock supervision and parental care."

Fulton also explained that she quit her acting career to care for her son before he was ultimately taken away from her by Nicolas Cage.

Nicolas Cage's son, Weston Cage, was taken to the hospital by ambulance after he flipped out at a restaurant in Hollywood yesterday afternoon.

Reports say his trainer told him he couldn't eat something on the menu. For some reason, Weston simply went off, pushing the trainer violently.

The trainer took Weston Cage down, and someone else tried calming Nic's son down, to no avail. Weston got up and continued freaking out.

When the police arrived, they told Weston that if he didn't get on ground they would tase him. Weston then complied, but was cuffed and strapped to a gurney.

Police say they it's unclear if Weston was under the influence of drugs or alcohol but they were clearly concerned that he was unstable and needed restraint.

Weston was taken to a local hospital where he is being evaluated.

One source says that Weston got into a nuclear argument with his new wife, Nikki Williams, that morning and she stormed out of their house.

It's unknown when he will be released, but Nic Cage jumped to the 20-year-old's aide and was there with him while he was transported by ambulance.

Nicolas Cage's arrest on domestic violence charges April 15 may not be the extent of his problems. Child abuse questions are being raised as well.

The actor may be investigated for child abuse after he reportedly caused minor injury to his five-year-old son AND his wife with his drunken antics.

Cage's wife, Alice Kim, told the police that they were arguing "due to his intoxicated state" and Cage fell while holding their son. According to Alice:

"The fall caused the 5-year-old to suffer a minor abrasion to his left knee."

A witness to the incident told a different version of the story, reportedly having seen "Mr. Cage pull the male child to the ground by his hand."

The report states that a child abuse detective was notified and the police wanted to interview Cage's son, Kal-El, but Kim would not let them.

Yes, the boy's name is Kal-El.

For now, sources say child abuse officials feel no investigation is merited, but that local Child Protective Services may still be contacting Cage.

More details are emerging about the altercations that left Nicolas Cage arrested early Saturday morning in New Orleans, and the runup to those events.

"He was running around and screaming in the street," a barman at Harry's Corner in New Orleans says, describing Cage's drunken, semi-crazed state.

Cage and his wife were fighting over which house they were renting in the French Quarter, adds Peter Bennett, a local street performer who lives nearby.

The actor them stumbled around, wasted in a tattoo parlor.

The Academy Award winner, who is filming in the area, was charged with domestic abuse and disturbing the peace after arguing with his wife, Alice Kim.

"Apparently he had mistaken the house of my neighbors for the other house up the block that he is actually renting," a witness says.  "His wife was trying to persuade [Nicolas] from disturbing the elderly couple who do in fact live in that house."

Cage is actually renting the house three doors down.

Surveillance video taken inside a tattoo shop just before Nicolas Cage was arrested this weekend shows the actor drinking and arguing with his wife and others.

Cage is clearly shown carrying some sort of drink as he stumbles around, fretting to employees about not recalling where he lived and getting testy with wife Alice.

Nic began throwing his clothes around, demanding to get inked up. Intoxicated, he then asked employees to call the cops ... 'cause he didn't know where he lived.

Police report that this was the topic he and Alice were arguing over - the address where they're living while he films Medallion - when he allegedly grabbed her.

In the surveillance tape, Cage, holding a clear plastic cup, can be seen with his arms around two friends as he enters. Nic walked out and back in and out again.

At that point, he can be seen arguing with his wife and friends. His wife can be seen motioning to herself throughout, as if to say, "Listen to me" or "Come with me."

Eventually, Nic acquiesced and left the shop ... only to later be arrested on charges of domestic violence and disturbing the peace, having taunted police to bust him.

He was released on $11,000 bail after Duane "Dog" Chapman posted bond for him, which is easily the most random and hilarious part of an already classic story.

Nicolas Cage was arrested early this morning in New Orleans for domestic abuse against his wife, Alice, along with one count of disturbing the peace.

In town filming a movie called Medallion, Nic and Alice disagreed over the exact address of an apartment they were renting in the city, police report.

Standing in front of a property he believed they were renting, he grabbed her by the arm to pull her to what he believed was the correct address.

Police say there were no visible signs of injury on her arm, but just the same, he joined our celebrity mug shot gallery with this hilarious pic.

The NOPD went on to say Cage then began to hit parked cars and later attempted to get into a taxi. Cops say Cage eventually got into a cab.

A police officer ordered him out ... which "prompted Cage to start yelling" and basically daring cops to arrest him ... which always goes well.

It only got wilder from there.

Mel Gibson, he's not. But Nicolas Cage was caught on tape Sunday unleashing a fairly noteworthy rant of his own outside a club in Bucharest, Romania.

"Get in that car and walk away," he tells some guy. "I'll f*%king die because of honor. I'll f*%king die right now! 'Don't touch me you little b!tch!"

"See my eyes! Respect them as you'd respect me!"
