While Chris Soules has long been considered the front-runner to be The Bachelor on ABC, another option is reportedly being strongly considered by producers:

Nick Viall.

Nick and Andi

The selection of Andi Dorfman's runner-up, still in many ways an enigma, would be bewildering on one hand, and make perfect sense on the other.

Many fans, and fellow competitors, felt Nick was calculating and insincere, even cocky in his pursuit of Andi Dorfman, who ultimately went with hunky Josh Murray.

Making matters worse was Nick asking Andi why they made love if she wasn't going to pick him in this awkward After the Final Rose confrontation.

At the same time, there's no doubt that Viall was genuinely, emotionally crushed by the woman of his dreams, and that he didn't mean to humiliate Dorfman.

If anyone deserves a second shot at love, it's Nick.

"Viewers are interested in what he has to say," says a show insider of Viall, who is in the running along with both Farmer Chris and Arie Luyendyk Jr.

Nick Viall has no regrets about his time on The Bachelorette, which isn't to say he doesn't feel awful about dropping that After the Final Rose sex bombshell.

Asked by E! if he would take back asking Andi Dorfman why they "made love" in the Fantasy Suite if he wasn't going to win, Nick insists he meant no harm.

"I said fiancée-type stuff," Nick Viall clarified. "I probably divulged enough information, so I won't get into more detail now that I'm not caught up in the moment."

"But it was a level of intimacy that was far beyond just sex for me, which obviously was part of it. It was just very passionate, intimate, personal and emotional."

"The fact that an engagement was on the line ... that was understood by both of us and I was very clear about my feelings, and she was very clear about where she wanted this to go."

To Nick, this was not about calling Dorfman a slut - as a Fox News commentator astonishingly did this week - but about clarifying his own feelings.

Just because he's a guy, Nick says, does not mean he should simply be grateful he had sex with a hot girl and just move on when to him it meant much more.

The Bachelorette star Andi Dorfman was called a slut on Fox News this week, following runner-up Nick Viall's TMI reveal on the After the Final Rose special.

Still not over her several months after the finale was taped, Nick asked Andi why she "made love" with him if she wasn't as in love as Nick was - or at all.

This became the talk of the finale - more than Andi and winner Josh Murray - and naturally, The Five co-host Bob Beckel slammed the Atlanta attorney for it.

"She's a slut!" Beckel blurted out on the Fox News program. "I'm not kidding you. She sleeps with somebody else and doesn't tell the other guy about it."

Co-host Greg Gutfeld seemed to agree, claiming that Andi had no right to tell Nick his awkward, live TV comment was "below the belt," which she did.

"Now all of a sudden he says something honest and you go, ‘Oh, wow, you just stepped over.' Nothing is private when you do a reality show," he said.

"You're on a reality show where you're making out with guys every day."

Fortunately for Andi, co-host Andrea Tantaros jumped to her defense.

"Are you kidding me right now?" Tantaro shot back, speaking for all of us.

"Excuse me, Bob. You probably sleep with a different woman every night."

On The Bachelorette's After the Final Rose special, emotional train wreck Nick Viall shocked fans with a comment about Andi Dorfman that he now regrets.

Revealing they "made love," in the Fantasy Suite, Nick asked Andi why they had sex if she wasn't in love with him, like she clearly is with Josh Murray.

A shocked Andi called his comments "below the belt" and bristled, telling Nick that everything she told him and felt for him was entirely genuine.

Looking back on their emotional confrontation, Nick admitted to reporters Tuesday that he wishes he would've handled the conversation differently.

"I definitely wish I had that opportunity to have that conversation with her in private. I did not go into last night expecting to ask her that," Viall said.

"I was just so caught off guard by her demeanor."

"It wasn't so much about the sex but the level of intimacy that night and I made it very clear where I was in my feelings for her and what something like that meant to me."

On The Bachelorette's After the Final Rose ceremony Monday night, emotional runner-up Nick Viall finally got his coveted face time with Andi Dorfman.

The 27-year-old beauty, who got engaged to Josh Murray on the ABC hit's finale, had rebuffed two attempts by Nick to meet up since the show ended.

Viewers were shocked when Nick, on live TV, asked Andi why she "made love" to him if she wasn't in love, a move Andi called "below the belt."

While that was (understandably) the water cooler moment of the episode, one major question remained unanswered: what was in the note he wrote her?

Andi did read the now-infamous letter the sales account executive from Chicago wrote to her and tried to hand-deliver at the Men Tell All taping.

The producers decided to post the letter in its entirety on the show's Facebook page after the finale aired last night, a move Viall isn't upset about.

"I was in no way ashamed of what was in the letter," Nick said today.

"I knew by giving it to her it was a possibility and I accepted that."

As viewers saw - and The Bachelorette spoilers predicted - Nick was indeed pining for her long after he lost out to Josh. Heck, Nick is still not over her.

Here's what Viall had to say about their breakup, their relationship, and how he still yearned for a second chance and envisioned his future with Dorfman:

The Bachelorette fans were stunned last night when the distraught, awkward mess that is Nick Viall confronted Andi Dorfman on the After the Final Rose special.

After two failed attempts to communicate with her since he was rejected on the show, Nick asked Andi why she "made love" to him in the Fantasy Suite.

Yeah. Prompted by the producers or not, he went there.

"First of all, I think that's kind of below the belt and something that should be kept private," Dorfman bristled. "The things I told you were real."

"The way I kissed you, those things were real."

Despite his unexpected reveal, Viall tells People he's ready to move on from this romance, even though he's still not totally over the relationship.

"I've accepted her decision very much, absolutely," he says.

"But I think when you love someone as much as I loved her," he goes on, "I don't know if you totally get over that in 10 weeks. I'm still working through it."

Nikki Ferrell straight up raged against The Bachelorette finale last night after watching the After the Final Rose special, labeling the show #trash.

Plenty of people would probably agree with her use of that hashtag, but what makes this reaction story unique are the following, obvious points:

  1. Nikki appeared on, and won, The Bachelor this year
  2. She railed against the producers and not Nick Viall
  • Juan Pablo, Nikki
  • Nick Viall Photo

The cause of Ferrell's outrage was Bachelorette runner-up Nick Viall asking Andi Dorfman why she made love to him if she wasn't in love with him.

She went right after the production team, however, and not Nick himself, making you wonder if a single moment on the program is ever unscripted.

Ferrell seems fairly certain that Viall was put up to all of this.

"Gee I wonder who told Nick to say that..." Nikki posted on Twitter after the show. "How the producers of @BachelorABC sleep at night is beyond me. #trash."

The Bachelorette runner-up Nick Viall may not have won the final rose, but he produced by far the top water cooler moment from Monday's season finale.

After Andi Dorfman and Josh Murray got engaged, which was preceded by her cutting runner-up Nick loose, viewers learned that Viall didn't take this well.

No one takes breakups well ... but Nick really didn't take it well.

Nick made two failed attempts to contact Dorfman between their taped breakup and last night's live After the Final Rose special, where they finally reunited.

That's when things got incredibly awkward in a hurry.

When she dumped him on The Bachelorette finale, a heartbroken Nick said there were things he wished she hadn't said or done. He didn't elaborate.

Until last night, that is, when Andi said he deserves someone who fully reciprocates his feelings, and Nick said his issue is that he felt like she did.

Then, after Andi admitted to Chris Harrison that she was never in love with Nick, he asked why she would "make love" to him if that were the case.

Wow.

The Bachelorette finale is upon us, and it's shaping up to be one for the ages. Or as Chris Harrison would say, like nothing we've seen in Bachelorette history.

Josh, Andi and Nick

Andi Dorfman, the beautiful and charming Atlanta attorney, spent the past two months on ABC whittling down 25 suitors to just Nick Viall and Josh Murray.

Did she give the final rose to Viall, the quirky, regular looking 33-year-old software sales exec with the undeniable mental and physical connection with her?

Or did it go to Murray, the affable, 29-year-old brother of Aaron Murray and financial services rep who was pegged as her type from the start and still is?

Will The Bachelorette spoilers be proven correct, or was there a twist? Did the producers conduct an elaborate ruse to throw the Internet off the scent?

After both upstanding gentlemen met her parents, and some serious hemming and hawing, Andi faced a difficult choice, but one she felt was right.

So who got the rose, and did they get engaged?

And what was in that note Chris gave to Andi?!

Let's break the finale and aftermath down right here and now, card-carrying members of Bachelor Nation. The winner of The Bachelorette Season 10 is ...

Some of The Bachelorette spoilers apparently proving this evening's outcome beyond a shadow of a doubt have come into question for a number of reasons.

The videos above, in which Nick Viall talks about the finale you are about to see tonight, appear to tell us exactly how it turns out for the Milwaukee native.

We'll stop short of telling you what he says, because it's a huge spoiler alert, but the clandestinely-filmed YouTube clips certainly reveal a great deal.

Two questions have started to permeate the obvious conclusion, though:

  • Just what is in the note handed to Andi by Chris Harrison?
  • What if the videos taken by Nick were actually staged?

It would be the ultimate ruse, but almost wouldn't surprise us, given the undeniable power of Reality Steve, the soothsayer of Bachelorette spoilers.

Steve has nailed so many seasons down to every last detail, but has also botched a couple of endings in epic fashion. Might this be another example?
