This summer, Nick Lachey will host a reality show on ABC seeking a newcomer to be "a part of High School Musical history," as a network representative described the series.

It's tentatively titled High School Musical: Summer Session and - shockingly - the auditions for the next Zac Efron, Ashley Tisdale and Vanessa Hudgens recorded a turnout larger than the size of Lachey's ex-wife's breasts.

Every time he thinks he's out, reality TV pulls Nick Lachey back in.

This summer, the former Newlyweds and Clash of the Choirs star will host a reality show on ABC. Its aim? To find the next Zac Efron or Vanessa Hudgens; i.e. a newcomer to be "a part of High School Musical history," as a network rep described it.

Tentatively titled High School Musical: Summer Session, the series will feature contestants between the ages of 16 and 22. It will premiere on July 20.

Right now, of course, High School Musical 3: Senior Year is being filmed in Utah; a fourth installment of the blockbuster Disney franchise is also in the works.

Rather than Nick Lachey chilling with a smokin' hot girlfriend (Vanessa Minnillo) or Matt Leinart with a young son (Cole), the two buddies have decided that it's probably a lot more fun to hang with hot, young chicks! Nice!

The cute couple appears to have learned its lesson after a Mexican retreat a few months ago landed this twosome on the cover of every entertainment news outlet in the country.

During a recent trip to San Juan, though, Lachey and Minnillo kept their bathing suits on. It's like they knew paparazzi would be watching or something. Amazing.

Minnillo says she's "grateful" her and the ex-husband of Jessica Simpson have done so well. Somewhat randomly, she also mentioned the couple's work out routine to the publication:

"I do a lot of reps," she said. "I don't want to bulk up."

Well, at least she didn't bring in a camera to film her and Lachey's training session, like Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt recently did.

Lastly, Vanessa gushed about her cosmetics line, calling it "surreal" and saying she "picked out every color [of the eye shadows], I mixed and picked the colors for the lip glosses."

Sounds like life is great for this couple. Don't expect them to follow the lead of Amy Winehouse and Blake Fielder-Civil any time soon.
