Nelson Mandela has died at the age of 95, according to reports.

Increased activity was noted around the Johannesburg home of South Africa's first black president, who has been very ill, in the past 24 hours.

Mandela's death was confirmed just minutes ago.

South African President Jacob Zuma announced Mandel's passing, which marks the final chapter in a revolutionary life that changed South Africa forever.

Zuma spoke about his predecessor on national TV.

"Our nation has lost its greatest son, yet what made Nelson Mandela great was precisely what made him human," Zuma said. "We saw in him what we seek in ourselves."

"In him, we saw so much of ourselves."

The day after "Nelson Mandela Day" seems like a good time for the Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom official trailer to be released. 

We've already gotten the briefest of looks at the new film with the Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom teaser trailer but now we get the chance to see some of the actual story. What a story it is.

If there were any doubts that Idris Elba would be able to pull off the look and sound of the iconic leader, this trailer puts some of those to bed. Joining Elba is Naomie Harris as Winnie Mandela.

The Houstin Texans lineman, who recorded 20.5 sacks last year and who weighs 288 pounds, leaps 59.5 inches off the ground in the following video.

Just how impressive is this feat? Consider: the top vertical jump at the 2013 scouting combine belonged to Seahawks running back Christine Michael. He weighs 221 pounds. And he jumped 43 inches.

Nelson Mandela turns 95 years old Thursday, a milestone that's being met with gleeful celebrations throughout South Africa and around the world.

The scene outside the hospital where Mandela is being treated has been joyous, as children with balloons and flowers in front of giant get well cards.

Nelson Mandela's birthday, July 18, has become a global holiday, known as International Mandela Day, to honor the former president's legacy.

The anti-apartheid activist and Nobel Peace Prize winner encourages people to volunteer, do community service and offer acts of kindness, great and small.
