Natasha Richardson wasn't admitted to the hospital until nearly four hours after her skiing accident - three hours longer than initially reported, The New York Times is reporting. And that's not the only inconsistency in the timeline.

A ski resort spokesperson said Richardson was laughing and walking around after the fall. But according to the Times, paramedics who arrived shortly after the fall say they did not see Natasha laughing. On the contrary, in fact.

One reported seeing her on a stretcher. The paramedics were told to leave.

A resort spokesperson said Tuesday that Richardson was taken to the hospital an hour after her fall, but ambulance records obtained by the Times reveal it was nearly three hours after the fall that the second ambulance was called.

When the ambulance arrived at the hotel, paramedics spent more than half an hour in Richardson's room before they transported her to the hospital.

Basically, she must have been in terrible shape by the time they arrived. Richardson passed away at the age of 45 on Wednesday in New York City.

The New York medical examiner ruled the death of Natasha Richardson an accident on Thursday. Her death resulted from severe, blunt trauma to the head.

The autopsy results suggested that the fall tore an artery in Ms. Richardson’s head and led to bleeding between her skull and the outer lining of her brain.

Natasha Richardson was injured in a skiing accident during a private lesson on a beginners trail Monday at the Mont Tremblant resort near Montreal.

The British-born actress, who was not wearing a helmet, seemed fine at first: She had no visible injuries and was even laughing and joking after the fall.

An hour later, she complained of a headache and was taken to the Centre Hospitalier Laurentien in Ste-Agathe. She was later transferred to Hopital du Sacre-Coeur in Montreal. Neeson, who was in Toronto shooting a movie, rushed to her side.

Richardson was held overnight and released Tuesday. Along with Neeson, she flew, via private jet, to New York, where she was hospitalized at Lenox Hill.

Tuesday evening, as the extent of Richardson's severe head trauma left no hope for a recovery, her family gathered at her bedside to bid their farewells.

As actress Natasha Richardson remained in a New York hospital, her family and friends had all but given up hope that she'll recover from the severe head injury sustained in a skiing accident, according to People magazine.

"There is no chance," a family friend told the celebrity news publication on Tuesday night. "It is a fact that her heart is beating but she is brain dead."

Richardson's dire condition – doctors described it as "leakage of blood between the brain and skull," the friend says - has the actress' family coming to grips with potentially having to make an unthinkably difficult decision.

"It's not official yet," says a friend, "but they basically will detach her."

Additionally, Fox News is reporting this morning that Richardson was "being transported back to New York City before she is to be taken off life support."

A member of the Redgrave acting dynasty and the wife of actor Liam Neeson, Richardson reportedly suffered head trauma during a fall.

Calls to Richardson's agent were referred to Neeson's publicist, who didn't have info because he is unable to get in touch with his client.

Initial reports said Natasha Richardson suffered severe head trauma.

Later, it was learned Richardson initially walked away from her fall on the beginner's slope only to have fallen ill with a headache about an hour later. She reportedly was conscious upon leaving for the hospital.

The 45-year-old Natasha Richardson was transferred to Hôpital du Sacré-Coeur de Montréal at about 5 p.m. after initially being taken to Centre Hospitalier Laurentien, which is close to the tony Mont Tremblant ski resort in Quebec.

As of this afternoon, Richardson is believed to have been transported from the hospital in Canada via ambulance. CTV says she boarded a private jet - we do not know where the jet has gone, but we believe it's New York City.

Richardson is sedated and suffering from brain swelling, but is not brain dead, according to TMZ. She was accompanied by a medic team for the flight.

Neeson and Richardson, who have been married since 1994, have two sons together, Micheal Richard Antonio, 13, and Daniel Jack, 12.
