After falling asleep during a live interview with a Seattle TV station and leaving Now You See Me co-star Michael Caine to field the questions, the snooze-fest went viral.

But the self-aware actor later told People in a statement, "I wasn't actually sleeping. I'm a beta tester for Google Eyelids. I was merely updating my Facebook page!"

About halfway through the interview about the film, which opens May 31, the 75-year-old Freeman nodded off as clips from the movie were shown.

When the cameras returned to the legendary pair, his head was down and his eyes were shut for a minute at least while Caine continued the Q&A.

Who knew Morgan was so high tech.

Morgan Freeman nodded off during a live TV interview yesterday morning as Michael Caine enthusiastically discussed their new movie Now You See Me.

During an appearance with Q13 FOX News This Morning, Caine fielded the anchors' questions with gusto while Freeman dozed off next to him.

Morgan Freeman has reportedly dumped his step-granddaughter, E'Dena Hines, for another young girlfriend named Ellie, according to tabloid reports.

The story of the 74-year-old reportedly dating E'Dena Hines a few years ago. Hines, now 29, was even said to be a teen when they were first involved.

That's ... probably not even true. But it was never denied, and the rumor stuck.

However, it seems that the Academy Award winner has moved on from pursuing his own step-granddaughter to relationship to a younger Filipino woman.

"Morgan rang in the New Year by planting a passionate kiss on his new gal Ellie, who's an accountant in Los Angeles," a source said.

Friends believe the relationship could be serious because Morgan also invited Ellie's mom and sister. "Morgan was having a great time," the source says.

"They kept kissing. They're definitely an item."

Sure they are. Good to know.

Herman Cain will never occupy the Oval Office, but he's become a popular figure on the campaign trail this fall, and as an African-American, his rebuttal to Morgan Freeman's controversial comments about the Tea Party carries some weight.

If you missed it, Freeman called the Tea Party racist on Piers Morgan Tonight Friday, criticizing the conservative movement's disdain for President Obama.

GOP presidential candidate Cain, the former CEO of Godfather's Pizza, disagrees.

Appearing on Fox's Your World with Neil Cavuto, the Hermanator said:

"Well, first of all, I doubt if Morgan Freeman, with all due respect, who's a great actor, has ever been to a Tea Party. Most of the people that are criticizing the Tea Parties... about having a racist element, they have never been to a Tea Party."

"I just think that it's sad that they're so short-sighted understanding what the Tea Party citizen movement is all about. I'm not offended by it, because it doesn't slow down my momentum. It doesn't slow down the reaction I get from people."

Cain, whose campaign is riding high after winning the Florida straw poll, added, "Name-calling is something that's going to continue, because they don't know how to stop this movement. And this movement is making a big difference in politics."

"A lot of the traditional Democrats are moving to the center or moving over to vote for conservatives. They're taking another look at a Herman Cain."

To say Morgan Freeman is not a fan of the Tea Party movement would be putting it mildly. In an interview on CNN's Piers Morgan Tonight, Freeman labels Tea Partiers radicals whose sole aim is to oust President Obama from office.

"But it's not a racist thing?" asked Morgan.

"It is a racist thing," replied Freeman.

"Their publicly stated policy is to do whatever it takes to see that Obama serves only one term. What underlies that? Screw the country," Freeman lamented.

"We're going to do whatever we can to get this black man out of here."

"We're supposed to be better than that. It shows the weak, dark underside of America," said the Oscar-winner of those "controlling the Republican Party."

There are plenty of racists out there, but the whole Tea Party? We'd be more concerned that these people think hurricanes result from God judging gays.

A conservative group in Wisconsin has been running an a political ad attacking Democrat Shelly Moore, a candidate for the State Senate in that fine state.

It's even narrated by Morgan Freeman ... or so they want you to think.

"The political ad in Wisconsin by a conservative group narrated by someone trying to sound like Morgan Freeman was not narrated by Mr. Freeman," his rep Stan Rosenfield said. "Morgan Freeman did NOT narrate that ad."

Duplicity aside, their voiceover guy did some nice work!

The Oscar-winner, it should be noted, is not only unassociated with the ad, but a friend of Nelson Mandela and a supporter of President Barack Obama.

It is now common knowledge that Morgan Freeman, and his wife Myrna, have split after 25 years of marriage. It is also well known that Morgan and Myrna had raised his step-granddaughter (from his first marriage) E'Dena Hines.

Well, recent reports that Freeman, 72, had a decade-long affair with E'Dena Hines, 27, have surfaced amid Freeman's divorce reports - and moreover, the actor is said to be planning to marry her. Woody Allen can relate, but few others can.

The National Enquirer said he and E'Dena Hines "are planning to wed after Morgan's contentious divorce battle is over," that "Morgan has let E'Dena believe he wants to marry her," and "becoming Mrs. Morgan Freeman has been E'Dena's goal."

Morgan Freeman's camp had kept quiet, assumingly finding the story so absurd it saw no reason to comment. At first, it was hard to argue with that logic.

But, so many people jumped on the story and began printing it as fact - or at least reporting it so many times that some people inevitably assumed it was.

Finally, Freeman's publicist set the record straight, stating in regards to the story: “It's complete garbage. The allegations are 100 percent made up."

Well, that clears that up. And it's probably for the best.

That's bad enough. But today, The Enquirer reports that Freeman and Hines are planning to get  married after Morgan's contentious divorce battle is over!

"Morgan has led her to believe that he wants to marry her," a family insider told the celebrity tabloid. "Becoming Mrs. Morgan Freeman has been E'Dena's goal."

Myrna, 68, admits she and Morgan have not shared a bed since 2001, and that they had an open marriage - with both Morgan and Myrna having other partners.

But she probably didn't think that included E'Dena Hines.

When Myrna realized they were intimate, she became so enraged that she threatened to sue E'Dena as "correspondent, as an adulterer, in my marriage."
